I love the plot of this story. This is going to be a great, unique urban fantasy series. I would give it 5 stars, but the first half of the book was slow to me. I really had a hard time connecting with the characters. Their personalities were kind of boring in the first half. I could not "feel" the emotions (fear, desire, anger, sadness, etc.) that these characters have the potential to exhibit. (I give the first half of the book 2 stars)

But the second half...OMG, it was great. A real 5 star pag

I picked this book up after reading a blurb somewhere and dove right in. I've been reading so much contemporary romance lately that it was nice to get back to my favorite genre--paranormal. This book actually is a blend of new adult/contemporary and paranormal, which I loved. NYU student, Nadine, lives in a post apocalyptic world where human sized bats attack people and plagues and disasters hit randomly. Nadine thinks she may be going crazy because of visions she's been having of a gorgeous guy ...more

This copy was provided to me by the author for an honest review. Again, I feel so lucky to be reading such a very good book!

I'm not really big on dystopian story, maybe because I don't get to read a lot about them. This book is definitely on that genre. A little bit curious, I took a peep. The setting is in New York after 30 years when our sky is no longer blue... rivers and lakes are polluted... streets are no longer safe. Our world is close to chaos. And there's our heroine Nadine.

I loved this book; it was a definite page turner! This book had a great mixture of romance, action and betrayal. What I liked was that although there were some things that were predictable, such as the real identities of some characters, there were so many things that occurred that you would have never thought of. So many twists and turns that it left you at the edge of your seat; just wanting to know what would happen next.

Destiny Gift is a unique blend of mythology and the paranormal in a post-apocalyptic setting. Bombings, targeted, extreme violence, and natural disasters occur almost every day around the world. From the lack of sun, agriculture suffers, thus so does the global market along with the stability of countries and households. And there are undocumented gigantic bats preying on people in the night.

When Nadine, an NYU student who's trying to secure the future of her family, meets the man of

Walking away from Destiny Gift I really didn’t get everything I was hoping to out of it. Pretty much all of the New Adult I have read previously have been Contemporary. So this one was a little different for me. Even though I wish I could have got more out of it, I thought it was a pretty decent book. Juliana brings something a little different to this emerging fad, which I thought was nice. It is good to see when authors break away from the confines dictating a current fad. When New Adult first ...more

Destiny Gift is a new adult paranormal novel set in a future New York in the midst of a world crisis. The world has been plunged into permanent darkness and crime and natural disasters are rampant.

Nadine is suffering from strange hallucinations, which come without warning. Up until now they’ve mainly been of a guy called Victor, who she has come to know as a close friend and is secretly in love with. But now she’s seeing strange gods and goddesses, and her visions are starting to overlap with th

I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. I have to admit that it took me a bit to get into the story. It was mysterious but I just had no idea where it was going. I was really curious about Victor and wanted to see where the story went so I continued on. Once I got about 30-35% into the book, I was hooked and liked the relationship between the 3 main characters and enjoyed seeing their growth. Nadine was a strong, female character and even though she had some unders ...more

A fascinating read from a majorly talented writer. In DESTINY GIFT, we enter into a dystopian New York 30 years in the future. Nadine is a college student who is both intrigued with and plagued by visions of the handsome Victor Gianni. Nadine believes that Victor exists only in her visions, and is surprised to encounter him in real life. Her experience with the real-life Victor is nothing like what we'd expect, and Nadine's visions soon shift to shed light on her world, and how she might be able ...more

I won this book in an even back in February and just received it recently. Overall, I enjoyed the book very much and would reccommend it to others. I am definitely going to keep reading the series. For me the beginning was a little scattered and it took me a while to really get into the book but once I did I had to keep reading. I like the characters and the ending was a nice cliffhanger.

Review: So, the opening chapter to this novel was one of the most gripping I have read in a long time. We meet Nadine who is heading to a psychiatrist to stop her hallucinations/visions which she has contemplated several times before but always changed her mind because of the “prince charming” she always sees. However, this time she plans to go through with it as it is completely disr

Totally awesome read. Nadine has visions of a handsome man named Victor in her dreams and then she actually meets someone who looks like him. Unbelievable, couldn’t put it down. Received an ARC.

Powerful, compelling story. Interesting mythos. Nadine's gift is compassionate and heartwarming. Victor and Micah seem to be the two sides of the same coin. But is that really so. The story leaves me wanting more: in the best possible sense. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and hope that you will feel the same way.

I received this book as an ARC; however, the review is my honest opinion.

I went into Destiny Gift not knowing what to expect, but I was immensely surprised by how much I enjoyed it. The concept of Nadine, the main character, meeting the real-life man she's been dreaming about really intrigued me!

I took one look at this book and was falling all over myself to read it. Why? Well, let's list the reasons, shall we?

- New Adult Paranormal Romance. New Adult. We all know how much I heart that genre, yes? And paranormal romance. I'm usually cool with that.

- Do you SEE that cover? Ahhh, so gorgeous.

- Victor! I wanted to learn about this booooy. Can you blame me? He sounded so interesting in the description.

- Fates, gods, and demons. I wanted to KNOOOOOW, you know?

And now I've read the book. I fi

I loved the concept but the beginning was slow and the ending was frustrating.

The Good
What drew me into Destiny Gift was the concept. I love me some gods and demons. This book started out like an intriguing dystopian with a livable but scary New York. The world is in constant darkness and huge bats like to tear people walking on the streets to shreds. Yeah, not fun. I loved how much depth this story had as it went on. Destiny Gif

“Victor lived only in my visions, but I was in love with him.”–Nadine

Nadine has spent the last nine months cursed with hallucinations, which normally would be all bad except for the fact that she’s in love with the man of her dreams–er, hallucinations. Actually, make that visions. It turns out what she’s seeing is the past, present, and future and most definitely real, including her love. Well, kinda. Real Victor is nothing like vision Victor. And then there’s the mysterious Mycah, the first guy

I'll admit first and foremost that just because I had to swap review dates with The Iron Traitor a few weeks ago, does not mean that I wanted to toss Destiny Gift right out the window and into the ocean. I almost lost part of my notes with the assumption that my Kindle was broken while in perfect condition when it really just needed charging.

Marking in ebooks is the only way not to get in severe trouble. x) I pity my poor planner with the chickenly scribbles of doom.

The book starts off with Nadine, living in a dark world 30 years in the future. The world is a very dangerous place to live which we discover early on. Nadine is having visions, they are of Victor and she is in love with Victor almost to the detriment of a real life with a real man.

I found the first half of the book to be slow and at times I was a little confused on some of the continuity. There were terrible bats waiting in the wings to attack but Nadine lived in a secure building and her schoo

Wow! I really don't know what to say about, Destiny Gift. It's definitely an intense read. You have to truly dedicate yourself to the reading of it. It's not a light-weight book you can just skim through. It requires serious attention and contemplation. There's so much going on at any one time, that you really have to pay attention to keep up. I mean this in a good way. I just want you to be prepared to be totally immersed.

I wasn't sure what to expect going into this book. But, since the idea of a girl dreaming about a boy and finding him in reality sounded so interesting, I decided to give it a shot. And, wow, did this book blow my mind! Two hot guys, a fascinating mythology, and a huge secret made Destiny Gift a fantastic read.

The world building in this book was brilliant. The atmosphere of a dark and sinister world was spot on. And the mythology that was introduced and how it was tied to the state of the world

'Destiny Gift' is the first book in a New Adult paranormal romance series that follows leading lady Nadine as she struggles to find balance between her job, college classes, and the realistic visions she's been having for about nine months now. In her visions, the world is a different place - beautiful, bright, and alive - instead of the decaying wasteland that makes up her reality. Also present in her visions is the gorgeous man of her dreams, Victor Gianni. Nadine longs for her visions to disa ...more

Hello! Today the blog has a review of Soul Oath, two-book trilogy Everlast.
I read synopsis of the trilogy called my attention, so I decided to start from scratch and delve into this very dark future in our world.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I very much enjoyed Destiny Gift and can't wait to read the rest of the series. It has been 30 years since the world has fallen into darkness and decay, with death, disease, murder, and every other kind of evil loosed to throw the world into complete chaos. This is the story of Nadine, Victor, and Micah who are brought together due to their strong auras. Nadine has visions, beginning with those of Victor and eventually visions of th

I was really excited to read this book but once I'd read the first chapter, I thought I was going to be disappointed.

There was nothing wrong with the first chapter but for me, I just couldn't get into it. And I stopped reading. For the next day or so, I thought I wasn't even going to carry on (and I've never not finished a book before). But then I changed my mind, and I'm so glad I did!

I really liked the early parts of the book. I

Destiny Gift really took me on a fun suspenseful ride. I really enjoyed it too. This book really has a bit of everything, we have some cool fantasy/mythology in it, with her visions, it's also a real life type dystopian feel too, In New York City, it's all darkness (all over in fact) Its more of a new adult category I would say, college age and with the college environment. I really loved the really cool twist at the end, it got me really excited for this story, and for the next book.
