George Hendricks, a coal miner working in a dangerous mine in eastern Utah during the year 1900, embarks on a journey to find a two-hundred-century-old Spanish gold mine in the Uinta Mountains. The mine has a dark, bloody history, and a mysterious energy dwells there. To make matters worse, George is wanted by the law for murder
This starts out as a pretty decent Western, then it picks up to be a pretty good action story, and then it turns into a psychological mind-bender in the end! A lot of the stuff that seemed like loose ends earlier in the book tied into the ending beautifully, and I was left really impressed with the writing. Plus, the setting is based on an actual ghost town and some of the stories surrounding it. It's great. Go get a copy.
