Fans of Duffy Browns Consignment Shop Mysteries have waited a long time for Lethal in Old Lace, and Im thrilled to say this story is worth the wait! Easily the most comedic cozy series I know of; protagonist Reagan Summerside, her mother Judge Gloria, her Aunt Kiki, and several of the awesome recurring supporting characters such as Big Joey, Mercedes, and Earlene, are tagged to help Reagan steal a casket with a corpse from the funeral home and hide it. Then, they must track down a mysterious ...more

Reagan Summerside is back for another fun-filled adventure with her guy, Walker Boone, and her best doggie friend BW (aka Bruce Willis). Shes ecstatic when Walker asks her to marry him, despite all the dead bodies that seem to keep popping up around her.

The latest dead body seems connected to the Sleepy Pines Retirement Center. The prime suspects are her neighbors. Reagan doesnt believe it and is dtermined to prove their innocence. With the help of her Aunt KiKi, Reagan conducts her own
Lethal in Old Lace is the anxiously awaited, new release in Duffy Browns Consignment Shop Mysteries. I'll openly acknowledge that I don't read this series for the intriguing, deep mysteries. This is good think because the mystery woven throughout this book is as implausible as they come. Literally. I could tell you who the murderer was but have forgotten why and how the crime was carried out since I enjoy Ms. Browns books for their humor and great, quirky characters and the convoluted mystery ...more

The first time I have read this author, the book is # in the series. I had trouble at first as I didn't know the characters. They are well developed and the area's descriptions draw you into the story. The quirks of characters intrigue me and I will read the earlier stories to understand them better.

I was over the moon when I heard this series had found a new home. This is one of my favorite series and I sure wasnt done with these wonderful characters.

Something I have been waiting for is moving forward in this book. Boone pops the question and Reagan says yes. They are moving forward in their life together with some major decisions like where they will live and the renovations that may be needed. Due to some crazy circumstances, their wedding party is going to be filled

Reagan Summerside and Walker Boone are engaged and they have a wedding to plan. I lived in Savannah for many years. I still go back most weekends to enjoy the enchanting town squares and walk the beautiful beach on Tybee. There isnt a lovelier place on the east coast for a wedding, as far as I am concerned. There also isnt a better person to write about weddings, murder and mayhem than the lovely Duffy Brown! There is more than one dead body turning up in this fast-paced story. The mystery will ...more

Lethal in Old Lace was a truly wonderful southern cozy mystery. Written by Duffy Brown who I love so much, for me this is the first in the Consignment Shop Series. I have no idea why I have not read any of these until now. Strong, funny and charismatic Southern Characters. So much charm, community and tenacity! This was a fun read, a light and charming book with a good murder mystery and a ton of spunk! This book is out March 13th by Crooked Lane Books and I highly recommend it.

Duffy Brown has written a wonderful continuation to Demise in Denim (indeed the two books could easily be read one after another as they are that seamless!) At the end of the previous book (the aforementioned Demise in Denim) Reagan Summerside and Walker Boone got engaged and that is where this starts, but within a couple of pages Reagan and her Aunt KiKi are off to a funeral, Walker is moving into Reagan's house and it gets madder and more fun from there on in with undercover work by KiKi and ...more

I received a free book for an honest opinion.
Another adventure for Reagan is about to take place. She thinks accepting Boone's marriage proposal is exciting enough but she hasn't idea what else is in store for her.
On that same evening she stumbles onto body of an old lady. When she returns with the help, the body is gone! And then, it happens again. Trying to keep it all hush hush from Boone, she enlists Kiki's help to try and figure out what in the heck is going on, but that only leads to more

I adore this entire series. It gets better with every book, and LETHAL IN OLD LACE is no exception. Author Duffy Brown continues to entertain, and hold me captive. She also can spin a mystery that leaves me guessing until the reveal. I've looking forward to the next installment!

I've missed this series and I am so happy to have a new installment. Opening a Consignment Shop mystery by Duffy Brown is guaranteed to bring a smile to your face, brighten your day and keep you entertained. This series, in my opinion, has some of the best characters in the cozy mystery genre. The characters are all well written, have depth, wit and humor. The mystery is well crafted with plenty of suspects to choose from as well as twists and turns that will keep you guessing. If you are a fan ...more

Reagan Summerside should be planning her wedding to hunky lawyer Walker Boone but a plethora of dead bodies get in her way. She and her intrepid Aunt KiKi along with Bruce Willis her wonderful rescue dog are on the case.

It starts at Willie Fishbine's funeral which is poorly attended. Reagan's neighbors Annie Fritz and Elsie are worried about their new business as professional mourners. They need the money because they were sucked into Willie's miracle vitamin scheme which turned out to make

Lethal in Old Lace is a humorous mystery. A body keeps getting moved while the police are looking for him. A second body is buried in the garden and then moved as well. The reader must stay alert to follow the bodies. I found the book to be interesting, creative and challenging, although enjoyable.

Funny, fast reading and extremely enjoyable. I really liked this cozy mystery and, even if I didn't read the previous book in this series, I had no problems in understanding the characters and the relationships amongst them.

Lethal in Old Lace (Consignment Shop Mystery #5) by Duffy Brown is one of the funniest in the series yet.

When Reagan accepts the proposal of Boone, her mom and Aunt Kiki are ecstatic! Planning a wedding in Savannah is one of the most exciting things for these ladies and there will be no expense to big for their girl.
For all of us that are familiar with the series, we know there is a lot more to this story than wedding cake, wedding gowns, champagne and the bride and groom.

Lethal in Old Lace by Duffy Brown is the fifth book in A Consignment Shop Mystery series. Reagan Summerside is stunned and thrilled when Walker Boone proposes to her. She barely gets to enjoy the moment when Aunt Kiki disrupts them. Elsie and Annie Fritz Abbot are lacking mourners at Willie Fishbines wake (if you knew him, you would not mourn him either). The Abbot sisters are professional mourners and need every cent of their income since they lost their savings in a get rich quick scheme. The ...more

Lethal in Old Lace is a delightful romp with the very genteel ladies of Savannah. Georgia has peaches, charm, magnolias, and ta-da! Reagan Summerside! And her very dignified mother, Judge Gloria Summerside, and Glorias delightful sister, Reagans Auntie Kiki. These ladies are enough to put Savannah, Georgia on the map all by themselves.

Reagan owns the Prissy Fox Consignment Shop on the first floor of her aging Victorian, Cherry House. It was the only thing she from her divorce from the cheating

This is my first experience with this author and the fifth in her series, and I thoroughly enjoyed, even when the plot took on high jinks in fully suspended disbelief. Who doesn't love the aura and history of beautiful Savannah? Then throw in a unique consignment store owner who lives in her old family home and a fresh proposal of marriage and you have Duffy Brown's delightful new cozy.

What a cast of characters in this book! Reagan Summerside is apparently no newcomer to finding bodies. Her

This book was absolutely hilarious! There were so many fun moments and laugh out loud happenings from a chick food fight to an old guy fight at a funeral viewing. Of course Aunt Kiki was right in the thick of things as always and helping in a fairly major way with this investigation. Reagan is a consignment shop owner and has just agreed to marry Walker, while her neighbors have a professional mourners business. Sleepy Pines has hired them to mourn at funerals. Sleepy Pines is having a rash of deaths and they are being blamed for stepping up the rate of death. Reagan doesnt think they did it and starts to look into it. **I voluntarily read this ARC**

Before I start, I would like to give a minor warning - do not read the series out of order. This book appears to pick up immediately after book four, and has many references to it. Ok, on to the actual review. I absolutely love the quirky cast of characters. They are amazing and manage to feel real. The mystery was well written and nicely paced.
For those waiting for Duffy Brown's next book in the Consignment series, you will not be disappointed. For those who haven't started, you will love this book I don't think you will have any problem reading this as a stand alone but I suggest that you start with the beginning, just to get the history of these characters.
While at a funeral for an elderly customer of a retirement home, Reagan finds another body in her neighbors, Elsie and Annie's, caddy, who also work at the same retirement home.

I happened upon this book on the NetGalley site. I wasn't familiar with the author but it appealed to me because it takes place in Savannah. Once I started the book, I didn't want to put it down!

Reagan Summerside is a girl just making ends meet at her consignment shop. When her neighbors, Annie and Elsie, are accused of murder, Reagan and her Aunt KiKi get involved. The sleuthing starts at the Sleepy Pines Retirement Center. Two of the residents of Sleepy Pines were murdered. Reagan and KiKi

Lethal in Old Lace is the first book by Duffy Brown Ive read and boy did I enjoy it! Even though Id not read the previous books in the Consignment Shop series, I had no trouble getting up to speed on each character and their back stories. We are all so tied to our phones these days!) and spent the other half with a flip phone provided ...more
