I was surprised to find this as entertaining as I did. It’s well written, the setting and events in the beginning where especially captivating.

Quite entertaining. The author describes both the scenery and the characters with clarity, and manages to make you love them or hate them, depending on their alliance during the war. The ending was very strong, and you can't take a breath during the last pages, the emotions are too strong and the images very vivid.

I was surprised this had been published after the massive commercial flop of his firs novel. What sticks with me the Armenian Genocide at the beginning and the gruesome detail of the Turks' cruelty.
