4 out of 5 stars overall
Head in the Game by Jeff Adams
3 1/2 out of 5 stars
Roger & Dylan share a winter summer romance on the ice. Roger comes back to his hometown after being unable to get his game on with the NHL. He’s coaching as part of his old team’s summer hockey camp under the direction of his high school coach. Then he meets Dylan -- the same coach’s son!
Their attraction is instant, but their story takes a little more time. I enjoyed the characters and story, but felt like it was almost ...more

Yes, I'm one of the authors. However, I'm also a lover of hockey romance so there were three other stories I had to read.
- Heather's made me happy to see a hockey player get his second chance.
- V.L.'s made me cry because Kieffer's story touched my heart.
- RJ's was a delight as two players newer to the sport found their chance at love.
I'm honored to have a story alongside these three wonderful ones. ...more

All four of the stories in this anthology were so well written!
Head in the Game by Jeff Adams
Second Chance at Love by Heather lire
Rookie Moves by VL Locey
Secrets by Rj Scott
They all have hockey in common obviously but they also start you off with one of the main characters needing something in his life. Some kind of connection, understanding, love and acceptance. They all get what they need with the one who is truly meant for them. In return they give what the other needs as well. Another huge ...more

I love hockey romances of all kinds so was really looking forward to reading this anthology. The stories each seemed to cover a different aspect of hockey. The young guys still playing AHL all the way to the retired player still figuring out if he would ever come out. These characters clearly show the worry and angst many bi or gay players go through. The four stories are all well written and give the reader something to think about.

Every novella is this collection is very good. It is rare to find so many good novellas all together and for a good cause. All of the romance center around hockey are quick and fun reads.
Head in the Game by Jeff Adams gives us a lovely age difference romance.
Second Chance at Love by Heather Lire is a romance between two former best friends. This is the one I liked least because too much happen off page.

What can I say? Read it! the long and short of it is this collection of novellas is a great read for a great cause. I discovered ice hockey due to Sabrina Bowen's books centered on college, hockey, I was hooked. After that I looked for for m/m erotica with ice hockey themes. these stories rank right near the top in this genre. never having been a sports fan I was shocked to find myself a puck granny and watching games but more often reading the stories I found. Each of these stories shines for th

Men, love, hockey and You Can Play all winners
Four stories about men, love and hockey it doesn't get much better. All the authors Jeff Adams, Heather Lire, V.L. Lovey and R.J. Scott wrote inspiring stories about

I enjoyed all the stories in this collection, all were well paced and engaging.
probably averaged out about 3.8*
In Jeff Adams' story, Roger is dealing with a crisis in form and heads back to his roots to help with summer hockey camp and reconnect with his old coach - finding his mojo is aided by Dylan a fellow camp coach.
Heather Lire deals with after the playing has finished in her story - and goes the reunited friends to lovers route in Costa Rica. Zach has to step out of the closet to get his H ...more

this was ok, plus 1 extra star for the cause.
I enjoyed the first of these anthologies mainly because of the stories by Avon Gale and Samantha Wayland; those two authors didn't have stories in this one. the first three stories (Head in the Game by Jeff Adams, Second Chance at Love by Heather Lire, and Rookie Moves by V L Locey) were ok, not super memorable. I did like the last story (Secrets by RJ Scott) more. ...more

This is a Wonderful Compilation!
Every single one of these stories about men and hockey are great! Families, friends and discovering a hidden strength 💪 within themselves to be the man they can be proud of is inspiring.
These authors have written great stories with love 💘, laughter and a few years added in!

RJ Scott’s story Secrets was excellent in this anthology! And Jeff Adams’ Head in the Game a good runner up. These two stories had the true essence and flavor of hockey woven into their stories. I love a good hockey romance.

Jeff Adams has written stories since he was in middle school and became a published author in 2009. He writes both gay romance and LGBTQ young adult fiction…and there’s usually a hockey player at the center of the story.
