Psychic Cree Blue’s identity is a secret, and her help in solving cold cases is strictly off the record. She isn’t known for her finesse, but she’s good at what she does. Her intuition and insight have never steered her wrong.
When there’s an attempted murder on the only detective who knows her secrets, she’s willing to step outside the safety of her anonymity and insert herself smack-dab in the middle of an active investigation. She has the skills to help, but convincing the sexy, skeptical detective to accept that help is much harder than dealing with the dead.
With an attempted killer on the loose and another cold case nipping at her heels, Cree will risk more than her secret identity to solve both cases. She’ll risk her sanity and her life.
Don't judge a book by it's cover guys. No, seriously done. Mostly because a beautiful cover can lie to you - just like an ugly cover could be hiding the most amazing book ever. I, for one, definitely judge books by their covers from time to time. It definitely bites me in the ass and I will never regret it.
In this, you will meet Cree and Spencer. She's a psychic and he's a non-believer. Opposites that needed to meet each other. Now this book was a super fun one to read. It wasn't what I expected it to be and that's probably why I enjoyed it.
The characters, the twists, and everything else in this were really good. Even the lack of romance didn't bug me. I just wanted a book that told a story - especially one with no ship. I'm so happy that someone told me about this book because I found a new author, series, and book to read. If I can somehow find the next book (for free) I will totally dive into it.
Psychic solves cold cases and gets justice for the dead!
very entertaining book about a psychic who can read people by touching some of their things. In this debut Cree Blue is involved with the police, the mob and the FBI before she unravels this mystery. Entertaining and well done!
I loved this book. I stayed up to finish it as I could not put it down. It has some romance but, this is a great cozy with humor. The closest thing I can liken this book to is the Stephanie Plumb series. The heroine, Cree Blue, is a psychic and a medium. Her father and grandmother had the same or similar gifts. They provided guidance to Cree when they were alive and continue to help her by being her spirit guides. She and her posse join with Mason (a skeptical cop) to solve a mystery involving her godfather. I was intrigued by the Insight equipment and hope that we get to see it used again. This book is the first in a series and I am looking forward to the next one. Cree's posse is growing and she may have another love interest. There is action and adventure. I found this book to be a clean read. It is a stand-alone novel and can be read as such. However, I think that once you read this book, you will be ready for the next. I suspect that this series is going to be like a bag of potato chips, you really cannot eat just one.
Cree is a psychic who does her best to let the police know what happened to missing people or where a body may be found, or even a way to catch the killer. But she does her best to do this where no one can find out who she really is. She needs to keep this a secret, the problem is when someone tries to murder the cop who knows her secret and is her godfather. However, more people will learn her secret, and it may not be a good thing, on top of that the people she thought she trusted may not be so safe anymore.
This was a really interesting start to this series. I really thought it was good over all, and I enjoyed Cree a lot. She was a really fun character, and I couldn't believe some of the twists and turns this took. I was rooting for her and the other cop to get together, but after the way he acted, I'm not so sure now. I can't wait to read more.
Great beginning to a series. A lot of reviewers compared it to Victoria Laurie's Psychic Eye series and I did see the similarities, but there are many differences as well.
Cree has spunk and she uses her gift to help people. Unlike some of the other heroine's in this genre, she keeps her safety in mind while solving her cases. I think that's important because I hate it when characters do what I wouldn't do.
I'm glad she won't be moving on with Mason. This West character seems interesting.
Overall, I ended the book with a smile on my face. I will definitely move on to the next one in the series.
Oh, my goodness, what an excellent book!! I devoured it in one sitting. The characters are relatable and funny, and the plot was well executed. I absolutely loved it. I can't wait to get started on the next one and have already ordered all the other ones in the series. I highly recommend this book.
Did not synch with me immediately but actually grew pretty interesting, grabbed the second right after. Fun stuff and she certainly involves herself with a bizarre care and becomes either the town hero or the town pariah pretty fast
Cree BLUE is a psychic and a medium, and she lives in a southern plantation inhabited by ghosts of her ancestors. She works with the police and other agencies to help solve cold cases, but this time she becomes involved in a current investigation of who shot John Farraday, her godfather and contact in the local police department.
While investigating the name Dominic Moreno is discovered. He is the local crime boss currently being held on suspicion of murdering the town librarian. What Cree discovers and the deal she makes with Moreno are the makings for interesting plot twists, with a little romance tossed in.
Fun and smart POV of a clairvoyant whi can dish on everyone, bake, solve cold cases and is in high demand. I would definitely read more in this series.
I loved the FMC, Cree Blue. She's not like many of the other females in cozy mysteries. For one, she's intelligent. She's also not Too-Stupid-To-Live. She has a reason for doing the things she does. I loved her being a psychic who works on cold cases. She's also witty and more than able to take care of herself. I may have done a little fist pump when this happens I do so love a Southern Belle who can throw down with the best of them.
There were so many twists in this story. Ones that I did not see coming. I was stunned, stunned by the second bad guy. Never saw it coming and even made a note in my kindle with a WHUH?!?! LOL.
I didn't particularly care for the love interest in this book, Mason. He came off as kind of jerk and player. Not a fan and hoping that she tells him to take a hike.
Overall, this was a thrilling read with twists and turns that kept me interested.
The premise of this book is great, but the typos were frustrating. In this day and age of technology and proof readers, I expect perfection (or near to it) while reading. If a reader has to re-read several sentences because they just don't make sense, we check out of the book. It is simply an irritating distraction; same for misspelled words. The saving grace of this book is a plot line focused around Cree Blue; a spunky Southern Belle that happens to be psychic. Cree has been helping the local police solve cold cases until something hits close to home and her gifts are all that can save her and those she's closest to. It is a worthwhile read, but I'm hoping the author will correct the spelling and grammatical issues in the future.
Cree Blue is a psychic investigator usually involved in solving cold cases for the police department with the cooperation of a long time family friend detective giving her the information. With the help of a machine that she developed that allows her associates see the images she sees she has assisted in closure for more crimes than anyone else on the force and she is not actually a police officer. She assists the FBI and is all set to assist in an international crime at the end of this story. She is dating a cop, has 2 mafia type body guards and this is just so much fun that I was able to finish it in less than a day because I found it hard to put down. Going to hunt down other books by the author!
I loved this book! So this was another book I got for free on Amazon but I am so glad I did! It was really enjoyable. The main character Cree is spunky, smart and quick on her feet. The other characters are great too, they are all interesting and well described. The writer's style had me hooked right at the start of the book and it was one that I just couldn't put down. It's well written and the psychic/paranormal parts are believable instead of being corny. The story is fast paced and I love that this particular mystery is solved yet readers are left with so much more to bring them back. I'm looking forward to more of this series.
Is the mob boss innocent and if so who is the killer.
Outstanding. A psychic who has worked with the police for years suddenly finds herself having to train a new detective after the attempted murder of her usual contact. Can she make him believe her and what will be the fallout if she proves that the Mob boss is innocent? Great plot that although is paranormal based is also very down to earth. The characters are full and vivid with an immediate connection to the reader. Terrific ending and can't wait to read the next one.
I have been provided with a copy of Dead Wrong by the author for an impartial review. This is the first book in the Cree Blue Psychic Eye Mystery series and what a way to start off a series. I absolutely fell in love with this book and I loved getting to meet Cree and her friends. This book just had me guessing on what was going to happen next and I was completely shocked with the results. I can’t wait to read the next one in the series.
I received an ARC of Dead Wrong from the author Kate Allenton and have chosen to review it. Dead Wrong is the first book in the new series A Cree Blue Psychic Eye Mystery. This book was a great intro into this world and these characters. It was just so easy to read and it totally had guessing on what was going to take place next. I really enjoyed getting to meet Cree and I look forward to seeing what happens next.
I loved the over protective flirtatiousness between Cree and Mason. This was a sweet steady paced story. There were some awesome turns that I didn't see coming. I loved it's lightheartedness while still solving crime. I can't wait to read more books in this series and see where Cree goes and what all she gets into.
Good start to a new series. People who enjoy Victoria Laurie's Psychic Eye series staring Abby Cooper will really enjoy this series as the author uses machines a technicians to help her & the others all "see" the vision. I found it to be a different and enjoyable take on the typical psychic mystery.
Wow, what a great read. I have been into paranormal books lately and went looking for a new book to read. This one showed up and I took a chance! I am glad I did! It has mobsters, FBI, local Police Officers, and ghosts! It is a great start to the series and I look forward to binge reading the rest of the series!
This girl walks fearlessly into situations just to help someone. It would be fantastic to have her psychic abilities and visitors from the other side to offer their input. I never saw the conclusion coming. I'm hardly ever fooled or stymied, but this time I was surprised. Good job!
Loved the storyline about a phsyic who anonymously helps law enforcement solve cases. Lots of twists and turns in this easy to read book which you could give to your grandmother or a teenager to read as there is nothing offensive in it. We knowCree Blue, the main character, has secrets but only a couple are revealed in this first book. Can't wait to read more.
I inhaled it. This book is too much fun! I loved the premise, the plot, and the characters. Interesting twist to the whole paranormal thing, too. Awesome backstory judiciously sprinkled throughout to give you enough info about Cree without boring the pants off you. I definitely need more Cree Blue in my life.
This was a great easy read. Strong characters, good mystery, good guys ,bad guys and some that were both. Twist that were not seen coming and a lot of hints as to what may happen in later books. I can't wait.
Just read this book based off of the description and I must say I’m happy I did because I seriously enjoyed this book. I’m more than likely about to go through every book in the series.
I loved this book! It had me from the beginning and i couldn't put it down. Cree is out to set the record straight, even if it's for a notorious mob boss. So many twists and turns constantly kept me on my toes. I can't wait to read the next book!
First time I read this author and totally enjoyed the book. The book flowed easily and didn't get bogged down in useless rambling. The author created an interesting set of characters. It was a good read throughout.
