Will the Sicilian's passion turn to love?

It was just plain Physical attraction. That didn't mean it was any big love or anything did it? Kate Connors was just a mistress to a very passionate Sicilian man, Giovanni Calverri.

And sex was all it was ever supposed to be. Until the day when everything changed. When fate forced them to put their steamy arrangement on hold - and t

I’m not a SK fan but this book was a wonderfully intense, angsty surprise.
The H was her usual ‘treat them mean, keep them keen’ jerk, who treats and uses the h callously, and she is another one of her hs with no backbone and certainly without ‘NO’ in her vocabulary.

Having said that, it had a serious, heartfelt feel to it, with a deep throbbing angst and hidden emotions flowing throughout. First time I could relate to a h unable to say no to a guy who doesn’t even seem to like her, and uses her
Released originally in 2001 and later re-released in Kindle in August last year, The Sicilian’s Passion by Sharon Kendrick is one of my favorite Harlequin romances. I remember re-reading this romance more than 3 times in fact, and its being around 3 years since I last revisited Giovanni and Kate’s tempestuous affair born out of their mutual attraction towards one another.

27 year old Kate Connors is an interior designer who is pretty much happy with who she is. Her clients are mostly the rich and
This was certainly readable, but I wasn't feeling the love. Sicilian silver company owner hero and interior decorator heroine have a one night stand with the hero running off in the night without a word to the h. The problem? Hero is engaged and now he has to break it off with his fiance.

Heroine knew hero didn't respect her, but succumbed to her hormones anyway. After a few weeks of moping around, the hero is back. Then we're off to the mistress races where the heroine first agrees to 2 weeks o

This is a very passionate and intense story, with some of the very best love scenes. Kate and Giovanni meet at his Godmother's house over lunch. He follows her back to London because she left her notebook behind. Even though, he is engaged to another woman, they fall into bed with each other and start a very tumultuous affair.

This is an engaging story and one that I couldn't put down. Even though it had some elements that I really hate in a category romance such as, infidelity, ruthless hero, th
So far at 23%, and the hero, hah, is a callous, arrogant user, and not in a good way.

He doesn't like that she doesn't wear natural fabrics; he sneers when he comes to her apartment and sees she's drinking wine (and he's Sicilian); he assumes she left her address book on purpose so he would bring it to her (ass-hat), and he's snotty and not nice when he's seducing her. All by chapter 2. Later he pitches a fit when she shows him some sexy lingerie as, of course, another lover must have bought it

I honestly don't know what to say because I really did not like this book. It could have been a great book for me because it has everything I look for my HP read - angst, passion, and more angst. Well, I was actually enjoying the first few chapters until it went downhill and then it made me sad and I really really wanted to love this book and I wish I could give this more than 2 stars. But.. ugh! This book just didn't do it for me. Not because of the plot because it was actually well written. It ...more
It seems i'm in minority on this.

I don't like that it involved a cheating hero and a too-fast-first-time-sex. their first scene in his godmother's home was kind of..well, forced i think. sometimes i don't like SK's writing style.

dunno, maybe it simply didn't work for me.

oh, and fact that hero's name is the same with me. Giovanni. okay, i know Giovanni is for a man, and i know i'm in the wrong. But it still felt..uhm..weird when they did sex scenes. i felt like 'ookaaay' every time. this is a l

I could really feel the sparks fly between Giovanni and Kate at their first meeting. It was evident that underneath the initial antagonism simmered deep desire. Kate and Giovanni slept together rather quickly, but I found it believable in light of their explosive passion. The author made that progression seem like the next natural step. She also succeeded in helping me understand Giovanni's behavior. (view spoiler) ...more

Decorator Kate meets Giovanni Calverri and it appears instant lust ensues! Moved rather quickly too! They do the horizontal dance, and he leaves without a word. Kate wasn’t happy about that! She decides to call him at his business and discovers that he is engaged to be married!! Of course, Giovanni unloads his burden on his bride to be, who wished that he hadn’t but she’s willing to continue on w/ the marriage. However, Giovanni isn’t so sure and he soon finds himself back at Kate’s door. The ma ...more

Just going through a load of old books by Sharon and I came across this one written 10 years ago. A book ahead of it's time for sure and it had me riveted from page 1. So much passion and emotion in 186 pages and I loved it. Quite sad part in it but it was finished beautifully. Recommended.
After I read some 5 star reviews I downloaded this book more for curiosity. I stopped to read this author few years ago when I discovered other contemporary romance authors like the faboulous Michelle Reid, Olivia Gates and Jacqueline Baird and others not in my top but I like them, such as Lynne Graham, Penny Jordan, Jennie Lucas...
So here is my review:
I just finished to read the book and I have to say this is not my type of romance. The book is not bad written or silly, yes it's very passionate

I was told off as a child for making up stories—little did I know that one day I’d earn my living by writing them!

To the horror of my parents, I left school at sixteen and held a bewildering variety of jobs: I was a London DJ (in the now-trendy Primrose Hill), a decorator and a singer. After that I became a cook, a photographer and, eventually, a nurse. I waitressed in the south of France, drove a

“Her big green eyes drove all conventional greetings clean out of his mind. Oh, what the hell? he thought savagely, and bent his head to kiss her.
‘G-Giovanni!’ The suitcase fell uselessly from her hand and her fingertips went straight up to his shoulders, biting into the sensually scented leather with an abandon which gathered momentum with each thrust of his tongue as he kissed her with shameless abandon.”
“I don’t believe I’m hearing this!’ she declared. ‘You’d been positively insulting about the fact that I knew nothing about Sicily—and just because I wanted to fill in a few gaps in my knowledge you make it sound like I had some kind of master-plan to ensnare you!’
‘You didn’t need a master-plan, Kate,’ he told her starkly. ‘Your eyes ensnared me from the first moment I looked into them.”
