I was asked to review this ebook Arc by Netgalley for my honest opinion. All thoughts are my own.

I enjoyed this book and I score it 3.5 out of 5.

This is the 6th book in the series and even though I haven’t read the rest you could read it as a stand alone as you don’t feel that you have missed out on the other stories.

In this book you meet JL and Cole. JL is a female scientist who returns to her home town to create a formula that will stop farms/ranches from having spoiled grain and in turn losing money. Cole is an ex-marine who has just joined the specialist security company Phoenix.

The two are a couple at the start of there relationship with JL overcoming some fears from a previous relationship. There is also a psychic element with the female members of Phoenix having psychic abilities!

You follow Cole and JL whilst they try to untangle who is after JL and her secret formula.

I enjoyed this book, there was action, romance and a hint of thriller. It was well written by the author Desiree Holt. I enjoyed how the story evolved and got faster paced throughout and you found out whodunnit it at the end.

Overall an enjoyable quick read.

If you haven't read this series, I suggest that you start from the beginning. You'll get to read incredible stories, learn about each couple, the amazing psychic gifts each of the women (or their furry companion) have, the partners of the mysterious Phoenix Agency, and the dynamics between them. You won't be disappointed! I absolutely love this series, and can't wait for the next release!

I fell hopelessly in love with JL and Cole. They are not just perfect for each other as a couple but in their security expect/customer roles. Sometimes Fate knows exactly what is it doing when it brings two lonely, empty people together. A heart becomes whole and hope takes root where darkness lived. Good can win if we will only brave enough to fight for it.

Desiree Holt is an amazing author who was able to snag both my heart and my attention with her incredible story! I can’t wait to read more of this fantastic series! The plot is intense and the characters are utterly fascinating and captivating. This is a series not to be missed!

This is the sixth in the Phoenix Agency series. Maybe I was getting a little overwhelmed by al the Phoenix hotties, but I felt this story was the least in the serie. J.L. (not really a name, right?) is a microbiologist, who is working on a new grain. And since this discovery can result in great profits for companies, there are a lot of people trying to convince her to work for them.

Meanwhile her relationship with Cole Martin is slowly evolving. While there is a lot of chemistry, J.L. is hesitant to become more involved. Her previous relationship didn't end well, mostly because of her special ability.

Cole is yet another Phoenix hottie, who sees danger in every phonecall J.L. receives from companies who want to hire her. And surprise, surprise... several companies (or bad guys working at companies) try to force J. L. to work for them. In all I thought it a bit over the top and highly unlikely that there are three different companies willing to kidnap or hurt a certain person to gain access to a discovery. Of grain. Boring grain...

So yeah, I enjoyed the story, I liked to read up on the previous Phoenix couples which star in this book. But in all, I think it was the least attractive story in the series. Still, three out of five stars from me and I will still be looking out for new stories of Desiree Holt. Because they usually rock!

Formula For Danger is the latest in Desiree Holt’s The Phoenix Agency series. I love that Ms. Holt has found a way to continue this series. Cole knows that J.L. is the woman for him but can he figure out what is holding her back? I loved his patience even as he struggles to convince her she needs additional security. If I had one complaint it was just how naive J.L. is. I mean ordinary me, knew what she was doing was dangerous, why did she fight so hard? I guess I wanted her to catch a clue much sooner than she did in this story, but that is just a personal preference. However, other than that, I loved Cole and J.L. together. Ms. Holt gave us a male character with honor and a female character that was equally strong. She needed to learn to trust in both herself and Cole. We got to see her journey to self-acceptance. I adored seeing the whole gang and their unwavering support. This story by Ms. Holt is full of action, emotion, and heat. I can’t wait to see where she will take us next!

I really enjoyed this book. Cole is a former Force Recon Marine and tapped to run the Lone Star Phoenix Division. Since returning to his Texas home he's also reconnected with JLa microbiologist. Cole knows what they have is special and it clear in his intentions to JL but she's holding back for reasons unknown to him. When they meet with the other Phoenix agents and their wives, she surprises everyone by disclosing she too has a paranormal talent - reading auras. After the tragic end of her last relationship ends in tragedy despite using her talent, she's reluctant to let Cole in. Cole however, is patient, understanding and respects her abilities. There is a more pressing concern as she's working on a game changing formula and the jackals are circling ready to get their hands on it by any means necessary. At times JL's failure to comprehend the danger is baffling and annoying. Fortunately her good sense prevails and she lets Phoenix design protection for her lab. One minor quibble, for all of the state of the art technology it seems a glaring oversight and one they should have envisioned. Cole and the Phoenix partners have to protect her from three unscrupulous and dangerous adversaries. When one becomes truly desperate, they must pull out all the stops to save her.

Cole and the other Phoenix partners surround JL to keep her safe but how will JL react when she realises that all the Phoenix wives have a Psi ability?

Another great addition to the series. My only quibble was the flipping from present to past and back again. I like my timelines straight! other than a good read and I love trying to figiure out which of the moguls was after JL!

Formula For Danger is an outstanding romantic suspense by Desiree Holt. Ms. Holt has another hit with this fantastic, well-written book. The characters are brought to life and make this book a joy to read. Kudos to Ms. Holt for always having such phenomenal characters. Cole is ex-military and has now returned to ranching but when he's invited to become a partner in the Phoenix Agency he and his girlfriend JL agree it's the right move. JL is a scientist working or creating a seed that will still flourish in drought conditions. JL spills her secret that she also has psychic gift to the partners and their wives. When it becomes clear that JL has people wanting her seed formula everyone is ready to help. JL and Cole's story is packed with humor, drama, sizzle, action and suspense. Fill your cup and take a bathroom break before starting this folks, you won't want to put it down once you start. I loved every page. Formula For Danger is book 6 of the Phoenix Agency Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

In this sixth installment of The Phoenix Agency, Formula for Danger, there are watchful eyes all round and danger hovers in the air. There are several dangerous rivals in this adventure wanting J.L.’s grain formula for their own and Ms. Holt does a wonderful job of drawing you into the suspense and keeping suspicions high circling the various bad guys until the ultimate bad guy is revealed at the end. She does such a great job of building the confusion surrounding them that I kept jumping around changing who I thought was ultimately responsible. The characters are complex and storyline well written. Ms. Holt also does a nice job of building the backstory, showing past and present, within the book. My interest was piqued at the beginning and held strong until the end. I love that she also includes the other teammates and their wives from previous books, as well as brief descriptions of how they met from past books, making this an easy standalone read; along with the others in the series. Formula for Danger is an action packed thrill ride full of mystery, danger, suspense, humor, and romance you will not want to miss. Ms. Holt also teases us with a new branch of Phoenix opening in Texas, Lone Star Phoenix, being run by the hero of this book. So, I am crossing my fingers there will be more exciting adventures with these hunky alpha males and their spunky, independent females in the future.
