森茉莉was a daughter of 森鴎外(Mori Ougai) pioneer of comtemporary Japanese novels in Meiji era.
After the rights of copies of her father's opuses had diminished, she had to endure peniless life.
She was a sort of vindictive old women, but witty and had sophisticated sense for cuisines.
She was not able to do everything of housekeeping affairs but cooking.
At last she died in garbage at small apartment in Tokyo alone.
She didn't care for her reputation by others, she lived alone with dignity.
This book teaches me about the true luxury we don't need money??
P.S. 森鴎外 gave his children Germanlike name and applied them Kanji.
For example, 茉莉(Marie), 於菟(Otto), 類(Lui),杏奴(Ann) 不律（Fritz)
