SOMETIMES YOU GET WHAT YOU NEED . . .

Allison Stuart has always been the odd-woman-out of her family. She wears her jeans a little too tight, colors her hair a little too blonde, and instead of going into medicine and law like her sisters, she runs a diner. She’s also the only single sibling left. And while she won’t change her style, and her meatloaf is to die for, thank

I don't know what it is about small-town romance that makes my heart sing but it does. Add in Christmas and you've got me.

It doesn't hurt that I've already been into this series and love it. The Christmas Wedding Swap is book number 4 in Allyson Charles' Pineville series. I enjoy this series so much I was so happy to read this one.

You meet Allison in the prior books so you already think you know her, after reading

Luke Hamilton is a prominent chef in Chicago when his motorcycle breaks down in Pineville, Michigan. Realizing his bike wont be ready for at least a week, Luke finds himself drawn to quirky chef and owner of The Diner Allison Stuart.

Allison remember Luke all too well when she inadvertently crashed into him after a chaotic Christmas Shopping day. Making a deal with her sister she tried to flirt and get a date but was shot down quicker than a disc in skeet practice. Allison hires Luke as a

How this keeps on happening to me, I don’t know. I’m very careful when choosing books to make sure they are either the first in a series or standalone unless I’ve read the other books in the series. Yet once again I chose a book that is 4th in a series! Fourth!!! Luckily, this really could stand on its own without the reader feeling lost or out of the loop. It was very apparent to me that the main character Allison’s best friend had her own story, but I didn’t feel like there were any holes in ...more

The Christmas Wedding Swap is the quintessential holiday romance. In fact, I've described it as a Hallmark movie, only sexier. This book had everything I love in a fun holiday romance. Hilarious initial meeting between the hero and heroine? Check! Instant attraction? Check! Hysterical banter turned foreplay? Check! Fun-loving cast of secondary characters? Check! Honestly, there is not much more I want in a Christmas romance. I flippin' adored this book. Allyson's writing style is fun, witty, and ...more

The Christmas Wedding Swap by Allyson Charles
A Pineville Romance #

Two chefs, two restaurants, two cities, two people that fall for one another BUT can they find a way for it to work with five hundred miles between their domiciles?

Allison Stuart owns The Pantry. She provides great comfort diner food for a moderate price. She loves her work, her recipes and the town she lives in. She is the last of her siblings still single and they all want her to experience wedded bliss and have what they do in

I really enjoyed this one. These characters were amazing and the overall story was completely entertaining. Excellent writing and a nice flow to the story made it a great read.

Allison Stuart is a free spirit and her family just doesn't get her. While they are all doctors and lawyers she's found her happy owning a small diner in her small hometown. The bright lights of the city just aren't for her. Luke Hamilton is a man running from his troubles. The last woman he trusted got him into all sorts

I have not followed all the stories in the Pineville series, although I plan to correct that – I did read the previous Christmas story The Christmas Tree I don’t feel that you “have” to have read them all for anything that is important from the previous couples’ stories are explained in either the narrative or dialogue quite naturally. So don’t let “jumping into the middle of a series” stop you from enjoying a touching,

This book. When I wasn’t giggling, I was swooning. Sadie and Luke were some of the funniest, endearing, likable and relatable characters that I have read in a long time. No, seriously. Relatable. Sadie is in her 30’s and dealing with the somewhat disapproval of her life choices by her family. I admit that her family isn’t all that likable at all. I didn’t hate them but for me I could have liked a little less from them. I married when I was 38 and never did I get any kind of disapproval. I waited ...more

This book was just the right mix of romance and snarky humor. Allison was such a great character and would not be a pushover for anyone! I felt so bad for her when she takes her sister’s challenge and kind of invites Luke out but he shoots her down. I could feel the hurt that she suffered every time that her family made comments about her life choices when she did not seem to measure up against her sisters.

At first, I did not like Luke as he kind of was dismissive of the whole small town feel of

Allison Stuart is the black sheep of her family, but it's never worried her. She's not interested in changing anything, but she would like to find a man and enter a relationship that hopefully will lead to wedded bliss. However, when she begins to spend more and more time with Luke and she finds her resolve of no more meaningless flings start to slip, will she give him a chance or will she let the man she's falling in love with get away?

Ms. Charles is a new-to-me author, and she's an author who

I enjoyed this book from beginning to end! Allison is a strong(ish) woman running her own diner, while worrying about being the last single woman in her family and running her life in a way that seems to be opposite from what her mother and sisters expect. There were times I really wanted to tell her family to back off as they seemed to always nag her about settling down or that her chosen career is not good enough. Luke is a big city chef who is avoiding a legal situation he blames on an ex ...more

I fall more in love with this series with each book I read. The Christmas Wedding Swapis no exception. This book is mainly about Allison and Luke, but we get to catch up with some of the other characters, as well. Allison is the owner of The Pantry, a diner in Pineville, Michigan. Luke is just passing through , but his Harley breaks down. While he waits for the statue of limitations to run out on a lawsuit against him, he takes a job at The Pantry. Sparks fly between them, but Allison is still ...more

I really, really loved this book. Allison owns a diner and marches to her own tune. Her family disses her on a regular basis and she just takes it. Enter Luke Hamilton (a renown chef and high line restaurant owner) and offers to help out when her cook quits on her. She doesn't know who he is, just that he keeps changing her recipes and buys way better coffee. Sparks fly between the two of them. Honestly, several times I had to just laugh out loud They had great chemistry and the sexy scenes were ...more

After appearing in the other Pineville books, it is Allison's turn to find love.

Allison owns a diner, The Pantry, in the small town of Pineville. Luke, a chef from Chicago, is hiding out so he can avoid being served in a lawsuit.

Their sparring and bickering over recipes, coffee, and even chef's clothes was amusing. They are both strong personalities, but good people and great cooks. All their talk about the different meals they make made me hungry every time I read this book.

This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. The story flowed very well and was very enjoyable. This book will keep you reading long into the night and you will not want to put this book down until you finish. This was such a great read and full of surprises. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

It was a Christmas romance. The H/H were mostly likeable, but it's hard to really root for a guy whose avoiding process servers in a breach of contract suit that he admits he is guilty of. I also have to wonder about a 2 month statute of limitations?? I liked it enough to read more by the author, though.

This author knows how to write a story that engages the reader from the very first page and characters that are so likable, believable and relatable that you feel like you are standing in the same room as the characters as their story unfolds!

You cannot avoid a lawsuit by hiding out for three months. The whole time I was reading this book that's all I could focus on. If you set that glaring error aside, the superstar chef cooking diner food and falling in love with small town life (and the small town diner girl) was perfect.

I am so glad to have found stories by Allyson Charles and her Pineville series. If you want a heartwarming small-town romance set at Christmastime, you will want to add this story to your holiday reading list.
Allison is a tough talking woman who owns a diner and she is also planning her best friend Sadie's wedding. Sadie and Colt's story was featured last year. Luke is stranded in Pineville for a while and becomes the sexy thorn in Allison's side when he begins to cook for her. At first they

Allyson Charles writes small-town, contemporary romances with heat and humor. A former attorney, she happily ditched those suits and now works in her pajamas writing about men’s briefs instead of legal briefs. When she’s not writing, she’s probably engaged in one of her favorite hobbies: napping, eating, or martial arts (That last one almost makes up for the first two, right?). She also writes ...more
