From the beginning of Death's Betrayal, I knew it was going to be just as good as it's predecessor if not better. It began with the escape of Daros from the dungeons. As deadly and cunning as ever, he found his way out from the Queen's reach. His disappearance was a major setback for her emotionally and physically because memories of his wretched behavior towards her became overbearing. Book 1 on this series, Death's Queen, Was so good that I've been of two minds about the sequel, on the one hand very much looking forward to it while at the same time worrying that it wouldn't maintain the high standard set by the first book. I needn't have worried. Book 2, Death's Betrayal is fantastic - at least as good and possibly better than Book 1 (though it is a necessity to read that book first). It's a true pleasure following along as Ryn continues to grow and develop. She's a superb

Janeal Falor lives in Utah with her husband and three children. In her non-writing time she teaches her kids to make silly faces, cooks whatever strikes her fancy, and attempts to cultivate a garden even when half the things she plants die. When it's time for a break she can be found taking a scenic drive with her family or drinking hot chocolate.
