I think I would still call myself a newb when it comes to Dani Wyatt’s writing so I’m no expert, but I think this has to be my favorite story from her so far. I’m not sure if it’s because of her collaboration with Liam Ryder, the intriguing storyline, or the sexy and beguiling characters that were James and Everly, but I adored this book.
Short and sweet… maybe not so sweet, but definitely HOT, His To Break had bits of drama, humor, and LOTS of incredibly hot sex. If you’re looking for a bit of kink to go with an interesting plot, then look no further than the tale these two authors have created for you! And before she off doing that she meets James at a bar and well he tries to shoot his shot and is shut down because he was kinda being a jerk lol q funny jerk but Ev wasnt having it. She meets James again when her boat isnt working and he offers to take her out on his boat to the sharks breeding site. Now few mishaps happen. That gives both of these peoples scares. But also brings them apart and together. Now James has to keep clam and hope he doesn't lose Everly like he lost his sister to the sea. And make sure his girl stays with him.

Dani and Liam's FB banter was a great indication of how good this book was going to be and they did not disappoint. With Liam's charm and Dani's sass, this was a win, win for me. The first scene in this book had me laughing so hard...probably scared the kids...and the dog. Picture this....

Yes, I realize this is probably the start of a joke....but this shit really happened...and it was so damn funny. I knew after this scene I was going to love the book....obviously I was right.
James is a fisherman and Everly is there to do research on Hammerhead sharks. She's there to prevent a big corporation from basically wiping them out. Which I wanted to say that I absolutely loved this storyline....just wanted to get that out of the way, continuing on. They meet and see each other at the bar....after the cell phone speaker fiasco. She was supposed to have another guy take her out...but let's just say he was a huge ass. Yes, there's a story behind it, but I am on James's side and felt he was way too forgiving, but that's just me. James ends up taking her, because he's James. This book had a great plot and storyline. When these two get even closer to each other it's like a damn heat wave...the whole book was hot, hot. There was a brief pushing away from each, but clearly that lasted for a hot second. As always it was a safe read, which I appreciate, and an Epilogue 2 years into the future.
I am always a Dani Wyatt fan, but I can safely now say that I am a Liam Ryder fan as well. Great first book for him.

Short, steamy story that hints at certain information, but the story rushed at such a pace, it didn't completely explain their stories. The H is ridiculously rich, lives a low key life, but so many characteristics were out of kilter. The same with the h, who is a scientist, but is childish and inept. Does not fit with her character, so she became unbelievable. What I did like was the insta-love the H had for her. just couldn't see why, he was great, her not so much.

HIS TO BREAK is about a sexy sea captain who fell in love at first sight with an innocent marine biologist whose research aimed to preserve the marine sanctuary of his small town which was in danger of being taken over by a greedy capitalist. This book has a beautiful plot and the hero was an intense lover whose brand of romance will leave every reader hot and bothered.
His To Break is the first ever book collaboration by Madame Dani Wyatt and Sir Liam Ryder and since this was a smashing success, I expect to read more excitingly hot books from them.

Everly was funny and bratty and James was all Male Alpha Hotness. From the moment he met Everly he knew that she was his. This book will have you devouring it from beginning to end. The only problem I had with this book was.... Why wasn't it longer!!!!

Liam Ryder has just become another favorite of mine! Thank you Dani Wyatt for introducing us!!
His to Break is a book that seriously captures you from the first paragraph to the last. I was laughing so hard while reading the first paragraph I spit my water out a little bit.
Everly has determination, a backbone and attitude to go round for round, however it may have been the submissiveness hiding in her that James caught on to before they both even realized she never had a chance when it came to James.

This is the first collaboration from Dani Wyatt and first time author Liam Ryder. James Morelock is a fisherman in the small sea town of Port Hope. He took over his father's fishing boat when he died. As much as he loves the sea it's also caused him great pain too. Everly is a Marine Biologist who studies sharks specifically hammerhead sharks. She's come to Port Hope to study the breeding ground for hammerheads that is located there. When the man who owns the yacht she's chartered turns out to be a dick she asks James to take her out. They try to fight their attraction to one another but it doesn't last long.

This is an insanely hot romance story that’s all about instant attraction two people have for each other. Dani Wyatt has collaborated with Liam Ryder on the story of “His to Break”.
Everly is a very sweet woman yet there is this bit of a brat inside of her and at times, she lets it run amok. And the time she lets it run amok, James is there to get that brattiness ..
James is one heck of an alpha male and does he want to discipline Everly …who wouldn’t? His beast responds to Everly’s brat and what intense chemistry these two people have together. I loved how James and Everly connected even when these two fought that bond and how they didn’t let the other know how much they connected to each other. Their attraction even invaded their dreams. I liked how the authors left some mystery about the main characters back story and gave just enough to start the story and then also into the story let there be some BDSM kink to heighten the feelings between James and Everly. It really played very well and enchanted the romantic feelings during the story.
This is a fast paced story with intense chemistry, great plot and fabulous characters. I wish there was more to read for I was very sad when the story ended. I look forward to reading more from Ryder/Wyatt.

When Everly comes to Port Hope to study the unique behavior of local hammer head sharks and their mating habits, it's and instant attraction between her and small town fisherman James Ryder. It's not long until her mistakenly forgetting to pack her underwear on the trip becomes handy as the passion between them ignites.
I enjoyed how connected Everly and James were, even when they didn't want to reveal it to each other. Their attraction invaded even their dreams. The authors left just enough mystery about backstories to keep things interesting and wove in a nice amount of bdsm flair to deepen the intimacy of James and Everly's intimacies.
I recommend His to Break as a interesting and fairly fast read with characters who are truly hot for each other. Add in their intriguing backstories, which add dynamics and depth and you get fun fiery read, even if it takes place on the water and in a quaint fishing town. I enjoyed this collaboration by Wyatt and Ryder. Look forward to reading more.

I received a copy of this book for an honest review.
When Dani came into her Wenches group and said she was going to be coauthoring with a male writer I was a bit worried and also excited. I am not a person who tends to read books authored by males, especially in the erotic fiction genre. Typically they strongly favor the male getting all the fun so to speak. But I thought hey why not I'll give it a try. These two work seamlessly as a team. The story flowed so well and it was a beautiful read. I would love to see more stories from this duo and look very forward to reading what Liam himself writes.
I guess I should say my only complaints are that I have to wait to read more by both parties and that I wish it were longer so I could keep reading it now!

Hotness alpha overload! Everly is in Port Hope for research and meets James sea captain sex on a stick hottie. When the Everly is suppose to go a boat and it doesn't work plus Lance is a jerk. Everly asks James for help. Short story but overflowing chemistry that makes you tingle with even just the words. I love James the beast as he calls it that side of him had me wanting him to do all the nasty things in his head to me. What can I say about this book. Everly was a hoot. The bar scene had me cackling like a witch. I loved it. The characters in this story just pulled me in. James was all man and I love that is romances. A no nonsense take charge man I love it. Dani and Liam you did a fantastic job. Keep it up please. I recommend this book to all lovers of a take charge man and the women that love them.

HERO - James Morelock. Captain of a local fishing boat. Long-ish dark, almost black, hair. Dark beard almost to the base of his neck, kept neat.
HEROINE - Dr. Everly Mantel. Marine Biologist. Long blonde hair with split fringe, deep blue eyes.
OVERALL THOUGHTS - Everly is a marine biologist from Texas hoping to get a fellowship at Texas A&M, though really she’s always wanted out of that state. She’s in Port Hope on behalf of the university to prove that the waters around the sleepy fishing town are the perfect breeding ground for hammerhead sharks and need to be protected. Her nemesis, if you will, is Trenton Investments, an entity that wants to turn Port Hope into a tourist attraction.
James Morelock is local to Port Hope, having grown up there, and is popular in those parts. He knows everyone and everyone knows and respects him. Nothing happens in that town without him knowing about it. He’s an all around good guy and THAT’S why people share information with him, not because he’s powerful. He’s the captain of The Signet and knows the waters around Port Hope like no one else. They both have quite a few things in common, from loving the quiet of early mornings to enjoying BDSM. Relationship goals, right? lol
First, some things I liked. The setting was pretty well developed. I didn’t feel like this was taking place in Anytown, USA. I could actually picture a quaint fishing town, the boat, and the sea. To that end, I liked that it was in a unique place and that our main characters had uncommon careers. The sex scenes were really hot, too, and because the characters were described as having multiple things in common, I could see why they’d be attracted to one another.
Now...what I didn’t like. There’s at least a couple of jarring jumps that are an interesting editing choice. One moment she’ll be on the boat interacting with James and then next sentence she’s in the water. There’s no transition letting us know she’s descending, she’s just suddenly there. There’s no separation of scenes either, it’s always literally from one sentence to the next - on the boat, poof, in the water. Her coming out of the water is usually described, but going in? Nope! It throws me out of the story each time it happens.
Everly’s character came across as selfish and irrational at times, especially near the end. For example, after the characters admit their feelings for one another Everly . Then when she sees something without knowing the context she . At that point, I no longer believed her feelings for him and I felt more sorry for him than anything.
Another thing, this time about the blurb. It describes her with red hair. In the book, however, she’s blonde. It’s mentioned several times...until it mentions she’s got auburn hair. It’s only once, but again, it threw me out of the story. Also, Trevor. The ex-boyfriend. He’s mentioned a couple times, but it never goes anywhere and we get no backstory. Same for Lance. Why does he hate James so much? If anything, he should be kissing James’s ass.
So, yeah, ultimately between the editing, my dislike of Everly’s actions at times, my disbelief at them actually loving each other, and the ending - I can’t say I loved this book. The saving grace was the sex scenes.

She’s in Port Hope on behalf of the university to prove that the waters around the sleepy fishing town are the perfect breeding ground for hammerhead sharks and need to be protected. Her nemesis, if you will, is Trenton Investments, an entity that wants to turn Port Hope into a tourist attraction.
James Morelock is local to Port Hope, having grown up there, and is popular in those parts. He knows everyone and everyone knows and respects him. Nothing happens in that town without him knowing about it. He’s an all around good guy and THAT’S why people share information with him, not because he’s powerful. He’s the captain of The Signet and knows the waters around Port Hope like no one else. They both have quite a few things in common, from loving the quiet of early mornings to enjoying BDSM. Relationship goals, right? lol
First, some things I liked. The setting was pretty well developed. I didn’t feel like this was taking place in Anytown, USA. I could actually picture a quaint fishing town, the boat, and the sea. To that end, I liked that it was in a unique place and that our main characters had uncommon careers. The sex scenes were really hot, too, and because the characters were described as having multiple things in common, I could see why they’d be attracted to one another.
Now...what I didn’t like. There’s at least a couple of jarring jumps that are an interesting editing choice. One moment she’ll be on the boat interacting with James and then next sentence she’s in the water. There’s no transition letting us know she’s descending, she’s just suddenly there. There’s no separation of scenes either, it’s always literally from one sentence to the next - on the boat, poof, in the water. Her coming out of the water is usually described, but going in? Nope! It throws me out of the story each time it happens.
Everly’s character came across as selfish and irrational at times, especially near the end. For example, after the characters admit their feelings for one another Everly . Then when she sees something without knowing the context she . At that point, I no longer believed her feelings for him and I felt more sorry for him than anything.
Another thing, this time about the blurb. It describes her with red hair. In the book, however, she’s blonde. It’s mentioned several times...until it mentions she’s got auburn hair. It’s only once, but again, it threw me out of the story. Also, Trevor. The ex-boyfriend. He’s mentioned a couple times, but it never goes anywhere and we get no backstory. Same for Lance. Why does he hate James so much? If anything, he should be kissing James’s ass.
So, yeah, ultimately between the editing, my dislike of Everly’s actions at times, my disbelief at them actually loving each other, and the ending - I can’t say I loved this book. The saving grace was the sex scenes.

I found myself skimming through this for some reason. I did finish it since its a quick read, but it did fall short of the usual Dani books I love. Hopefully next one. =)

Love this couple! I think Dani had a firm grasp on this male lead although the storyline could've flowed better.
What really sold this book for me was James personality, he embodied the 'virile alpha male' persona that we love to read in these types of books. I loved it and I recommend this book to anyone one who is in the mood for a quick alpha domination.
Their relationship was insta-love and their first meeting left a lot to be desired, which is why I didn't give this one 5stars. First impressions are everything after all and I think with the way they cut it off abruptly and made it awkward was unnecessary and it put a disconnect on the chemistry we as an audience were trying to establish between characters. That said, the bedroom dynamic was everything! You honestly need to read it to understand, but the presence they gave James was just yummy!
Overall I enjoyed this story for what it was, an afternoon romp in the pages. It was quick, it was sweet is was alpha, what more can you ask for?

Umm I expected more for some reason.
I’m not sure why. It was a decent enough story. Some things were not explained fully. Like what happened to her in her first dives that gave her such panic attacks. Or what happened between her and her ex that made her so man shy and mistrustful. Or why write it in that he knew down to the soul in his toes that he had gotten her pregnant only for me to turn the page and it’s two years later in an epilogue to find her pregnant with her first child. Seriously!?!
Also the author just randomly threw in at the end that Lance was gay. And I’m still not sure on that because it came so far out of left and wasn’t REALLY worded that way. So not only was I expecting more I’m now confused too. Not sure if I like this book. It was going well enough and then it finished. I can’t even say that it just ended because it didn’t have that full stop sudden ending feeling. It was more like it paused and then fast forwarded. Idk. That’s what I got from it.

Super sexy read. I loved the dominant alpha in James and how well everly submitted and how she wanted to submit. I enjoyed her job stuff because I've personally been kinda obsessed with sharks the past few months.
Dislike that there was a stupid politic remark made ( we don't need to know politics in a romance book)
Dislike the school she attend ( I'm from Texas and college ball is everything and I had to giggle that was was reading a book about a girl who's school I loathe haha)

Amazing debut!
His to break will suck you in from the very beginning. The opening scene will make you laugh out loud. James is dark and sexy and his inner beast has his sights on sweet Dr. Everly. This insta love has a sweet story line and steamy dominating scenes. Amazing team work between Dani and Liam. 5 stars!!

Absolutly Amazing!!
I am in awe of how amazing this book was! James' character drew me in from the start and Everly was the perfect combination of sweet and sassy. Perfect collaboration from the Queen of instalove Dani Wyatt and debut author Liam Rider. Definitely left me wanting more!! I will one click anything from this pair!!

James and Everly's story is SIZZLING!!!! They meet when Everly comes to Port Hope where James is a boat captain and she's there to research sharks. There's some suspense in this book and going along for the ride as James and Everly connect is definitely worth it as they are combustible together!!! Red HOT!!! I would definitely recommend this book😊😊

What a sexy story this was. Characters had meaning, a voice...something to say other than dominance and sex. Don't get me wrong...I love my smut, but is important to attach that sexiness, that alpha hotness with something worth reading. James and Everly were meant for each other. Liam and Dani...wonderfully written!
