Dollycas’s Thoughts

Maizie Albright is working at Nash Security Solutions but as a bookkeeper instead of getting the training she needs for her private detective license. That changes when she brings the firm a new case that entails keeping a movie starlet out of trouble and to the set on time. Should be easy, right? But what starts out a basically a babysitting job turns into a full blown case with dead bodies and body doubles. It also brings Wyatt closer to admitting his feeling for her. Now sh

Former teen star Maizie Albright is back in action in the second book in the Maizie Albright Star Detective Mystery series. With the help of her boss, Nash, it should work out, but she can’t stop her attraction for the man and that could be a bit of a problem.

When a movie producer asks Maizie to babysit his leading actress, she immediately agrees. The leading lady happens to be a former co-star of

This is a great book; this book is the second book in the Maizie Albright Star Detective Mystery series written by Larissa Reinhart. In continuing her career-makeover quest as a for-real detective, ex-teen and reality star Maizie Albright has a big learning curve to overcome. A sleuthing background starring in a TV show-- Julia Pinkerton, Teen Detective--does not cut the real life mustard. It doesn't even buy her lunch, let alone extra condiments. Her chosen mentor, Wyatt Nash of Nash Security S ...more

“Familiarity breeds contempt. So does questionable morality and murder.”

Won’t anyone stop thinking of Mazie Albright as Julia Pinkerton, the teenaged Star? Well, it might help if Mazie stopped channeling her. In this, the second of Rheinhart’s new series about the PI in training, Mazie and Wyatt Nash take on a film crew setting up in Black Pines that hire them to “babysit” a former co-star of Mazie’s from her TV show days.

Maize and Nash are hired to play babysitter and security for her childhood friend and co-star, against Nash' better judgment, who is now the star of her own movie, and the producer doesn't want her unstable behavior to tank his movie. Maize catches site of her charge in a very compromising position, that will certainly destroy any chance of the movie being completed. Upon finding a body while trying to protect her friend, Maize winds up being the target of a murderer because of something she saw ...more

Suspense, Laughter, & Some Wicked Sizzle!

Maizie Albright, wayward ex-teen tv star, forced to move back home to Black Hills, Georgia by a judge, finds herself in the most unbelievable situations. She has a crazy mom/manager, a good old boy dad, a precocious 6 yr old step-sister, & a smokin’ hot P.I. boss. I love all the many quirky characters. In 16 Millimeters she finds herself babysitting a partying starlet & tripping over dead bodies right & left. Poor Maizie ends up on a crazy

With a touch of romance, humor and a lot of action Larissa has done it again. Maizie came back to Black Pine to escape Hollywood but unfortunately Hollywood followed her. Her boss, Nash's business is struggling so when the opportunity arises to make some big money protecting someone from her past Maizie jumps on the chance. She will do anything and everything to save Nash's business and start learning some investigative skills. But when dead bodies start showing up, Maizie isn't so sure that she ...more

Maizie is a former child/teen star turned private detective-in-training.  An attractive young woman, she has all the exuberance of youth and the recklessness that often goes with it.  Nash is a great looking, seasoned detective,  and the underlying sexual attraction between them is no surprise. Maizie’s a fun character. I enjoyed getting to know her. As the job reminds her of her previous career,  she channels her Hollywood roles, sometimes quite humorously, to deal with difficult predicaments.  ...more

16 Millimeters was just as good as 15 minutes! Laugh out loud funny. I cant wait for the next in this series! I will be anxiously awaiting the next adventure of Miss Maizie Albright and crew! I received a free copy of this book for an honest review.

I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book. I anxiously awaited the second installment of Larissa Reinhart's Mazie Albright Star Detective series! Hollywood has arrived in Black Pine, GA! Former child star and reality show maven, Mazie Albright is drawn back in to the “bright lights” even though she is trying to keep strictly to her private investigator role-as ordered by her rehab judge in CA. I love the GA characters, but this book has a lot more Movietown Razzle Dazzle and it's h ...more

I love Maizie Albright! She is such a fun, spunky character. This book took me on an adventure with a few plot twists that kept guessing at what would happen next. This is such a great series and I hope there will be more!

I received a copy of this book from the author, my review has been voluntarily submitted.

Another fun outing for Maizie Albright, former child star. Larissa Reinhart writes with humor and grit, making this another fast, fun read.

These characters, and I mean that in the nicest way, just keep getting better! The problems Maizie must endure, just to live her dream, well, some of them are hilarious. It’s been said, we all have a twin, but it would be hard to see your look-a-like in some of these scenarios. There was not a shortage of suspects in this saga and I really didn’t figure out the bad person till they were in front of me. I like the way the Nash relationship is going, but I really like Ian being thrown into the mix ...more

Hollywood has come to Georgia and the wackiness ensues. I do so want to comment on all that is involved, but I want all to enjoy the surprises along the way. There is a dead body, along with some injuries to many, a little romance, some family issues, and transportation troubles. Love the hashtags at the beginning of each chapter. The author provided a copy for my voluntary review.

Romance, laughs and a mystery. Reinhart's descriptive writing style pulls you in and keeps you there. The characters are well developed and Maizie is becoming my favorite sleuth. I look forward to each new book Reinhart writes. I voluntarily reviewed a copy I received from the author.

Ms. Reinhart does it again! I love Maizie. Smart, ingenious, and funny, she keeps everyone, including her hunky boss Nate on their toes.
Bodies are popping up, and Maizie of course gets involved. How else to get the training she needs?
Believable, likeable characters, great plot lines, plenty of humor and the interaction between Maizie and Nate make this yet another of my favorite books by a favorite author.

I honestly think each book by Mrs. Reinhart can't get any better but they do! I adore Maizie. She is so complex but lovable!

In the second book in the Maizie Albright series, Maizie gets involved protecting a former "friend" from her film days. She discovers dead bodies, is put in peril, and gets more involved with Nash (her sexy boss). Her girls, Rhonda and Tiffany add fun and humor to Maizie's life as well. The plot was intriguing. I honestly wasn't sure who or why until the end!

Maizie Albright and Larissa Reinhart have done it again! Action, humor and heart tied me to this delightful mystery from beginning to end! Nash doesn't play a really big role but OH, MY, I think I would read the books just for him. I have caught Maisie's crush. The ex-actress just can't keep from getting drawn into the drama around the Hollywood world that has followed her to Georgia. Not only is she dying to turn her internship into active investigative time, she is drawn to help those with who ...more

Another new favorite. I didn't know what to expect. What I got was a fun romantic, comedy, mystery. Making the whole mystery thing a simple enjoyable read.

Since Maizie knows her way around a movie set she seems the perfect babysitter for the startlet. But when bodies start showing up her past acting skills have to take second fiddle to her new
sleuthing skills.

The reader is swept along with Maizie as she works at becoming a real detective and gaining Nash's trust and heart.

I wondered which sh

How timely is this novel with all the disturbing news coming out of Hollywood!
I will say some of the popular language of this tome did make me feel a bit ancient.
I'd be dating myself to call it "hip and now" but it is for sure refreshing and current.
Those who care about Maizie become more afraid each day to let her wander around alone. She is developing this disturbing habit of finding dead bodies - each one dragging her closer to breaking her probation terms! She is only trying to impress her h

MAYHEM, SPUNK & LOTS OF FUN!

Maizie Albright has left stardom and returned to her hometown of Black Pine, GA – not exactly by her choice. She’s seizing the moment and trying her best to become a Private Investigator being employed and trained by Wyatt Nash. The biggest case involves all manner of people from her past – even her mother/manager. With all those Hollywood egos involved, there’s plenty mischief, mayhem & murder for Maizie to search through the clues. Reinhart’s characters are

I loved 15 Minutes and eagerly anticipated 16 Millimeters. It definitely lived up to my expectations. What seemed to be an easy assignment, babysitting an actress with "issues," becomes a trip down a rabbit hole for Maizie, full of unbelievable mysteries, even for producers, directors, actors, and actresses. No one appears to be what they claim, and Maizie is faced with body doubles, dead bodies, and hot bodies (especially Nash!). The non-stop action, humor and quirky characters had my complete ...more

5* Body doubles turn up as BODIES

This series keeps getting better! Maizie must deal with a conniving mother, a creepy movie producer, a snarky movie star, and body doubles who turn up as--you got it--bodies! She's so cute and the sexual tension simply vibrates the Kindle. The author really knows how to write sassy into her characters and makes us want to read more. Good job! I recommend this book for anyone who reads!
