I listened to this for devotions and enjoyed the easy telling of some common and uncommon Bible stories. It also helped me with the timeline of how the Old Testament is written.
What an amazing book the Bible is!

It was a short view of the entire Bible: the highlights. Definitely something for devotions with little kids because of the pictures, but it also had some perspectives I'd never thought about.

What an excellent book at many different levels! For a new Christian just beginning to study the Bible, it is an excellent chronological overview of the "stories" in the Bible. This would also be great for an older child or youth to place the Bible stories firmly in their minds and to see how they fit together to form the one BIG story of the Bible. For and older Christian who has the stories more firmly fixed in their minds, it is still excellent! As they delve into the footnotes, they will be amazed at the wealth of information contained in this little book. I would definitely recommend the PDF version of the book for in depth study. It has probably twice the number of footnotes as the hardcover book. The footnotes also have active links to click on for access to internet articles from many different websites. The only drawback is that many of the links do not work and land you on some sort of "Missing Link" page or they will go to the home page of the website instead of the exact article. That is the only reason that I gave this one less star.

The 10-Minute Bible Journey gives a thorough, summarized overview of the Bible. The Table of Contents reflects an expansion on the 7Cs of History biblical, historical timeline to include Covenant, Commandments, Crown, Captivity, and Christian Era. Fifty-two summary readings cover the main events of the Bible. Each one is illustrated with a colorful, attractive visual page. The primary Scripture passage is used as a reference for further reading, a key verse is highlighted, and a suggested prayer wraps up the day’s reading. Each summary includes key details of the biblical account and appropriate tie-ins to the Lord Jesus Christ, the New Testament, or practical application for personal life. Bonus sections address additional topics like angels and the Ice Age. A suggested Bible reading plan is included in the back of the book to encourage reading through the Bible after reading its overview in The 10-Minute Bible Journey. Endnotes with references for further study are included at the back of the book. One of the digital versions allows these references to be linked directly through the digital device. This book would be useful in a variety of ways: as a general introduction to the Bible for a new believer or older child, a baptismal gift, and for family or individual devotions.

Do you have ten minutes? Get the big picture in those ten minutes with Dale Mason's book The 10 Minute Bible Journey.  With quick and concise entries, Dale takes us from Creation to the Cross and beyond in just ten minutes a day.

A lot of people, including Christians, often get lost when questioned about the order of events in the Bible hence making skeptics question the credibility of God's Word. Given the seamless flow and engaging writing, this complete walk-through of the Bible is written in chronological order strengthening our understanding of the events surrounding our faith. With devotional content and book summaries, primary passages, key verses, and a follow-on prayer, in just ten minutes a day, you have a family devotional, personal study, or a discipleship tool that will take you through the entire Bible.  The book also includes a 2 1/2 foot fold-out timeline that can be used as you walk through the history of the Christian faith.

We have used this devotional/summary twice now. My two older boys used it with their Language Lessions for a living Education 6 book and we will use it again with my youngest. This is a great summary of key Bible passages from Genesis to Revelation. After every summary the key Bible verse is listed along with additional reference verses for further study and a wrap-up devotional section. I love that this is informative while also being easy to read, especially for the early middle school aged kids. Each passage has a date with it so you can see where each story is in history as well as a pull out time line in the back. This summary also contains a Bible reading plan and helpful tips for family/small group study.

As a homeschool mom, I appreciate resources that make Bible study both engaging and manageable, and The 10 Minute Bible Journey delivers exactly that. Each reading is short enough to fit into a busy school day, yet rich enough to spark meaningful discussion with my kids. The book does a wonderful job presenting the overarching story of Scripture in a way that feels connected and easy to understand, even for younger learners. I also love the full-color illustrations and timelines—they help my children visualize where each event fits in the bigger picture of God’s story. This has quickly become one of our favorite morning devotion resources, and I highly recommend it for families wanting a simple but solid biblical overview.

Great book to deepen understanding of biblical timeline, history, etc for kids. I have two issues with it:
-authoritative tone even regarding inferences (“this is how it is” tone vs “it seems that….”)
-it’s complementarian and I’m egalitarian (e.g. passage about Deborah talks about “creation order principle of male leadership”)

But I think these are not dealbreakers for me because it’s a book for older kids and we can discuss these issues together. If I buy it, I’ll probably write in my copy the things I disagree with so my kids and I can chat about them.

Good book, Sermon on the Mount

I liked the book very much, smooth read, good followup notes. I would have liked a full chapter on the sermon on the Mount, as it is the main speech that turned me to Jesus. It was, in words, clearly his voice on how to treat each other. Both Ghondi, a non Christian, and Doc King referenced Sermon on the Mount. A young woman Christian asked the Dali Lama to help her convert. He said "Be a good Christian, follow the Sermon on the mount, no need to convert.

These beautifully depicted, Bible based stories are a lovely way to walk through the Word of God while seeing the incredible thread of Jesus from Day one. The incredible art work and wonderful story telling make it continually engaging and easy to understand the stories of the Bible. The scripture references in the “Primary Passages” and “Key Verse” make it easy to dig into the stories further on your own. The “Wrap up” is a great way to increase understanding and create a dialogues with the Lord on each story.

I used this book for a morning devotional a few days a week before my kids went to school. Thus the three star rating. Overall I liked the book and it was a good summary of the Bible. However, I felt like the reading was laborious and the content was sometimes dry for the morning devotional that I wanted.

I really do not care for this book at all. It goes along with a curriculum we are using. While I love the curriculum, this resource is not my favorite. We are approximately half way through at this point and although my thoughts may change, as of now, there are much better resources available.

My son and I enjoyed reading through this devotional. The lessons are a bit more in depth than ones you would find in a devotional and I feel like it was a good fit for someone who is ready to dig a little deeper in their faith.

I did this with my kids as part of their Bible class and it was a good overview from Genesis - Revelation in chronological order. We are also studying Ancient History this year and it paired well with what we were learning in that class too.

Amazing!

This book is a great summary of the key events in the Bible and redemptive history. I love the pictures as well as the apologetic and scientific information that mixed in. It does give an explanation from a young earth creationist perspective, so if that is not your view, this book may not be for you. I also saw another person leave a review on here that said this book's teaching is not compatible with "his reformed theology". Not sure what he is referencing, but I am a reformed Presbyterian, and I haven't yet found anything overly problematic. Regardless of whether you come from an Arminian, Calvinist, or Molinist background, you can easily benefit from this book. It would also be great for introducing younger people to the Bible or use in family devotions. The year long reading plan in the back is also pretty cool as it goes in chronological order and gives you flexibility in your reading schedule.

This is an excellent resource! It covers 52 events throughout the Bible. Each story has the approximate date of the event, primary passages, a key verse, a prayer, an illustration and a short story-line about the event. These various features make it easy to adapt to your families needs. The illustrations in the book are beautifully done!

Something my kids loved about this book: Dinosaurs going into the ark. Dinosaurs are often overlooked because this was a nice addition for us. My kids thought this was great!

This would be great for Bible study group, personal or family devotions.
