Sweet Christ on a cracker, what is this Doris Sanford bitch's problem?

The child in this story has a mother who seems to be suffering from postpartum depression since she recently gave birth but add to that her husband left her and she lost her job. Let's say she doesn't have postpartum depression, but still, who wouldn't be depressed over the break up of their marriage, the prospect raising a newborn and a young child on their own and having no income? The best advice they can give the kid is it to: 1. Draw a picture for her mother's wall 2. Ask for her mother's advice on something she knows about to make her feel useful 3. Tell her mother that she loves her.
