Scarlette’s friend goes to a concert and Scarlette didn’t heard from her the next couple of days. She is worried and decides to find her. Scarlette needs the help of her stepbrother, Gage, and she stays at his house until she finds her friend. Gage is happy to see his stepsister again. He helps her find her friend. The more time he spends with her, the more he wants to change and wants her to stay with him.

This was an interesting and complicated story. Scar who is looking for her friend Ivy, who's disappeared after going on tour with a rock band, leaves her comfort zone in Belize and comes backs to the states to stay with her former step-brother Gage. Gage is not the same older "brother" she remembers from her past. He is now a womanizing, famous musician who has a problem staying sober. He is still her protector and Scar sees the old Gage deep down is still there which is why she can't help but f ...more

Strung Out is the first book I've read by Lyrica Creed. I received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.

The main theme running through the story was drug addiction and its impact. Creed wove several sub plots within the main theme that kept the action flowing with multiple potential directions for the storyline.

Drug addiction is a tough subject for me when leisure reading. I really liked the premise of the story, therefore, I really wanted to try it. I enjoyed it, but the beginn

This is my first book by Lyrica Creed and I loved it. There's so much more going on in this book then the obvious. Once I started I was intrigued the complexity of the characters.

Scarlette is leaving school to go on the hunt for her bff Ivy who disappeared while on tour. Scarlette is forced to go to her ex stepbrother Gage for help cause he knows the scene more than her. Only thing is he's not the same Gage she knew growing up. Gage has so much bad going on his life that he's basically dr

This is a strong story about two former step siblings who struggle with heavy emotional and physical dependence. Scarlette the daughter of a famous rock star who died when she was 2 and Gage a current rock star with a very bad drug addiction. When Scarlette comes to LA to look for her best friend who has dropped off the grid she finds herself helping her former stepbrother with his drug addiction.
This book was really well written and the author did a great job bringing all the individual plots t

This is a fictional romance about a girl and her estranged rock star former step-brother. If this doesn’t sound complicated enough for you, then I don’t know what you might consider complicated.
Add to the mix a friend’s disappearance while following a rock band, the need for a place to stay and help navigating the intricate rock scene of Los Angeles, the life a rock star step-brother you haven’t been in touch for years and a greedy drug addict mother to make Scarla’s story just a tad more intere

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book. :)

"Strung Out" is the debut book of author Lyrica Creed, and it's a new adult rock star romance. I found the story interesting and not predictable. The author chose to publish a book in 1st person and 3rd POVs (point of views), so the readers can read the way they like more. I personally preferred the 1st person POV, although I wonder why only Scarla's was in first person and Gage's was in 3rd.

Scarlette 'Scarla' Smythe is looking for her friend Ivy who
So I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review and I'd like to thank the author for trusting me with her work.

This is the first Lyrica Creed book I have read and I'm also not familiar with the genre either, so it was a new setting and mindset for me to get into.

I read the book in 1st POV as I prefer this. So the story begins with our main female character Scarlette working and studying to stay afloat financially. We are introduced by text msgs to a friend "Ivy" who has been missing after

Strung Out by Lyrica Creed turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Reading the blurb, I had a bit different opinion of the book in my mind and even though it was totally different from my expectations, it wasn't a disappointment.
I have seldom read books with "Hollywood" and "music" as the background and I can say with surety that I had never read a book that involved one of the main characters struggling with substance abuse. It was surprising, a bit uncomfortable at times because I wasn't used to

I fell in love with this book. It does have drug us and abuse as a large part of the storyline so keep that in mind before reading.

Gage is a drug addict who happens to be a famous musician. Scarlette is his former stepsister and she needs some help and a place to stay (because she is completely broke thanks to her mother) while trying to find her best friend who went missing while hanging out with a band. We learn a lot of facets of each main character. The main characters are messed up, but try

I've read many a rock star romance. And quite a few step-brother romances. But never have I read one that combined the two with a depth that I found true-to-life.

I volunteered to read an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. Honestly, I didn't have high hopes for the novel, but I did, in fact, enjoy it! Gage and Scarla were step-siblings some years ago. They lost touch and he's now a famous rock singer. When they reconnect, sparks fly.

The sexual tension between the two cha

This was the first book of Lyrica Creed's that I had read. I really enjoyed it. I just read it straight through, couldn't put it down. Scarlatti has had a very interesting, but not idyllic, life. She's the daughter or a rock legend, but never knew her father, as he dies from an overdose when she was two years old. Her mother is basically a irresponsible rock groupie and an addict. Her step brother, Gage is now a rock superstar in his own right.

Scar and Gage haven't seen each other in years. But

Wow! This is somewhat a "typical" rock star book but there are so many more levels to this book that I found so unique and refreshing and it totally sucked me in.

Scarlette "Scarla" Smythe is dropping out of school to find her best friend Ivy that seems to have vanished while on tour with the rock band Rageon. Unfortunately dropping out is also due to the lack of money that she has with her mom not really contributing financially to their living situation. Trying to find any clues that she can S

Strung Out is a great story that I absolutely LOVED LOVED LOVED! Scarlette "Scarla" Smythe is the product of a groupie mom and a rock star father who is dead of a drug overdose. She's working her tail off constantly trying to graduate college, while her mother doesn't contribute anything to their living situation, leaving Scarla short of money. So when she gets a text from her best friend Ivy, "I'm on the tour bus partying" and then radio silence, Scarla decides to drop out of school to find Ivy ...more

Gage + Scar #ship
A Riviting Rock Star Romance and a Must Read Stepbrother Romance twisted into one Rocky Read.

In the opening chapters Scarla and Gage are each in a bar oceans away from one another, bonded without knowing it by the celebrity gossip news playing on the television above their heads. The tabloids are raking Gage, who is both her stepbrother and a famous musician, over the coals with good reason. He seems to be messing up his life and endangering his fame. Scarla is oblivious to this

Thank you Lyrica Creed. I love finding meaningful social messages in a really good book. While I am here to be entertained and carried away from daily life-it's my preference learn something while being entertained.
Readers, this is a very well written novel. I can't say that enough. There may be some emotions or scenes within that will make you uncomfortable or squirm.
Some heavy topics being covered in this journey of love(and self love) addiction, esteem issues, suicide. (Handled with the utm

This story has some of everything drama, drugs, sex, passion ,secrets , and deception. I really got into this story as soon as I started it. Scarlett and Gage is not your everyday couple they share a secret that if brought to light could destroy them both and the love they have built.
Gage has never been one for the rules and when his drug problem could cause him ,his career that he has worked so hard for but sometime outrunning his inner demons is to much .Scarlett needs to get away
I read this book through Kindle Unlimited. This is my first book by this author and the writing was ok. You are given the choice to read from alternating pov's or third person. I chose alternating however it seemed really mixed at best. Maybe third person would have been better.

Scarla/Scarlette is the daughter of a deceased rock legend who has been living with her crazy mother in Belize out of the limelight. When her friend Ivy goes missing and she can't afford to stay in school she decides to

This book was so much fun to read! It was definitely much more angst filled than I was anticipating, but that didn't take away from any of my enjoyment of it. The romance was a firecracker in itself excluding the rest of the details interspersed within the book. Scarla and Gage both held my attention the entire time as they battled all of their inner demons as well as their electric attraction for one another. Watching both of their progression throughout the novel as they worked out their emoti ...more

Wow! I really enjoyed reading this book, and read it cover to cover in one day. I found it to be a relatable inside look into the fantasy world of stardom. It's complicated and has a few twists that you don't anticipate. The main characters have issues such as addiction, abuse, low self esteem and negligent parents and it was interesting watching them work through this.
