Zuran🐺🍌🌋🔥 is the Interplanetary Affairs Officer, which makes him basically the Albaterran Kingdom👑 of Dhal'at liaison to the human colony in the kingdom. He's a free spirit, rare among Albaterrans, a beautiful blue🐺🍌🌋, wild child.🔥 I haven't read any of the other 📚books, so I was a little bit lost. The author assumes the reader knows the backstory about how and why the humans have been allowed to settle on this desert planet 🌎 of tall, jacked💪, handsome🐺🍌🌋🔥 blue aliens. However, I was quickly caught up in the story because it's a story of palace intrigue, accidental death🔪 seen as a murder, and a deadly epidemic among another alien race, the Novai, that threatens the entire population of the planet.🌎 Phoebe💋 is a young, plump, blond, human nurse👩, much different that the other nurses and the tall, hard , blue Albaterrans. When Zuran🐺🍌🌋 sees her for the first time and looks into her big green eyes, he is lost🔥, mesmerized. He finds ways to talk to her. She is also quite taken with him and ignores any romantic thoughts for the human soldiers and workman she must help treat. Then, when the epidemic is discovered, Phoebe💋 and Zuran🐺🍌🌋🔥 are brought together in an isolated hospital where the Novai sick are brought. There is something about Zuran🐺🍌🌋🔥, a Albaterran Wild Child🔥, that draws Phoebe💋 to him.....
YEHAW! Ride em Bareback🍌, Cowgirl🐎🐎🐎🐎
I did have some problems with the book. How and why would an Albaterran🐺 who had never seen a human, speak English? And if they learned English so easily, why didn't the humans speak Albaterran A'li-uud? The other problem was with the epidemic. It seemed the doctors weren't doing any research into the virus or parasite caused changes to the Novai. They were just watching them die. The last thing is something that was left out! There were no real XXX scenes to speak of in the book and what little bit that was there could have been written much better. I was disappointed.😟
Zuran was Interplanetary Affairs Officer, a role given to him by Elder Kharid. So his twin brother, Venan, was reprimanding him for leaving the compound to go for a run! He had a more important task to complete! Elder Kharid wanted the healers brought by Zuran from the colony to the palace for an important Council debriefing. He finally disclosed to his brother that an unidentified disease had broken out and was killing the Novai. The Council wanted it diagnosed and cured before it spread uncontrollably to the humans and A’li-uud.
Phoebe was examining her patient, a carpenter, who had accidentally shot a nail through his palm. She was discussing this with the doctor who would need to take a look when the door slammed open and the Interplanetary Affairs Officer strode in. He gathered the medical staff and took them to the palace, but immediately a crazed Novai who had escaped caused chaos. The warriors chased after it.
Elder Kharid entered the room and reassured the medical staff. But the Novai had circled around and attacked them. Kharid was fighting them off when the warriors arrived and Venan thrust his sword through the almost-unstoppable Novai. Unfortunately, it passed through the beast and into Kharid’s chest! Despite Phoebe’s desperate and immediate attempt to save Kharid’s life, he does not survive. What will happen now? How will this affect the medical work ahead of them all? What will happen to Venan in the accidental killing of the Elder?
This is another excellent book in this Albaterra Mates series. Zuran and Phoebe have a rough beginning to their possible attraction. So much happens in that short amount of time that has major repercussions. The reader will love the suspense and fast-moving action of this book! I definitely recommend it. You won’t be disappointed!
Phoebe is a human nurse based in Ka-lik’et (which is in the Albaterran kingdom of Dhal’at) and is considered as one of the best. When she loses an important patient events quickly spiral into critically important events.
As a nurse, Phoebe has spent her career helping people. She knows it’s her calling and throws herself into tending to her patients heart and soul. In the city of Ka-lik’et, she is considered one of the best attendants amongst those in the human colony. When she loses the most important patient she’s ever had, though, a fuse is ignited that sends her spiralling into a course of events she never could have imagined. Zuran is a reformed criminal and the Interplanetary Affairs Officer for the Albaterran kingdom of Dhal’at. He meets the curvy, intelligent and incredibly compassionate Phoebe and is awestruck by how amazingly good a person she is. When the Novai who have also colonised Albaterra are struck with a unknown disease they are both thrown together in a desperate battle to save the colonists, ensure it does not spread to the other planet's inhabitants. As part of that journey they discover things about each other (and themselves) that had been hidden for a long time. As part of that journey can they saves their world, themselves, and find out that they actually need each other too?
I absolutely LOVED this story. You don't need to have read the earlier books in the series (however you may well find you have to go back and read them all). The story had lots of drama, danger, romance and mystery in this tale of love and how it can creep up on you when you are not expecting nor necessarily looking for it. Everything was well written and I could feel all the thoughts, frustrations and emotions felt by the characters in this story.
When I met Zuran in Khrel's book I knew I wanted to know more about him. Just that little bit in book five let me know this was gonna be a great book. I like most of the mates in the series, but Phoebe is by far my favorite. She is strong, intelligent, loyal, compassionate and driven. As a nurse she has seen quite a bit and can usually separate personal feelings from her job. When Zuran's brother was unjustly imprisoned, she was willing to put her life and safety aside to help. Zuran is a hot-headed, reformed rogue and has no qualms about doing anything to save his brother. I loved how when they had to go into space to speak to Novai about the disease running rampant through their colony, she was scared out of her mind, but spoke to the Novai captain with and air of confidence and competence. Phoebe is the ultimate perfect mate in my opinion. I am so disheartened that the series is coming to an end. I really was hoping one of the stories would be in Ma'ris' kingdom. It sounded so beautiful. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book. I highly recommend this book.
Another fantastic Albaterra Mates book from Ashley. This is the sixth book in the series and they just keep getting better.
Zuran's and Phoebe's story is much longer than the other books and although there is still that instant attraction, you really get to see their romance and subsequent relationship develop and grow. As usual the story twists and turns and you are hooked, hoping and praying that everything will work out for the reformed bad boy and his nurse.
It is a standalone story and you don't have to have read the others to get up to speed with what is going on but you are really missing a treat if you don't read them. Also as there are a couple of small, recurring characters in the book and references to past events, it can only deepen your understanding and enjoyment if you've read them yourself. Added to the fact that they are really very good and you are on to a winner.
A fanastic series and sad that they will be coming to an end soon.
I received an arc of this story but provided a review willingly.
Zuran - an Interplanetary Affair Officer in one land in Albaterra. He is masculine and he is high in the hierarchy. He also has past, and this past will knock on his door during this book. What will happen when it will also endanger a woman that he started developing feelings for? He was not a di*k in his way of treating Phoebe - like it sometimes had happened in previous books. Phoebe - a nurse that works in the infirmary. One day an Alien came to the infirmary to take her and others nurses and doctor to Elder Palace in order to find a treat for Novai disease. Add to it current Eder death and a lot of misunderstandings and judgments. And what is with her that she started to feel something to that Alien? What will happen during their way in this book? I can promise some shocking news about Zuran!
I received an ARC of this book for a honest review. Ashley has done it again! Another great story. Each book in the Albaterra Mates series is individual and has a different story for each couple. The way that Ashely writes these books is simply brilliant. I find some books go into too much detail and it can take away from the overall enjoyment of the book, in these books however I find the descriptions of the scenery and the detail are a great balance. This book has different angles which all tie in together. The two main characters are great and the chemistry is a slow build. I really enjoyed this book as much as the others and look forward to the next one.
Loved this book Ashley L Hunt you are an amazing writer, the books in this series just get better and better this time it's Zuran and phoebe story, Zuran is the interplanetary affairs officer and Phoebe is a nurse and together they must cure the other colonists the Novai of the disease that's killing them, Zuran must face his past as a criminal to help his brother but in so doing that puts Phoebe at risk. Will they find the cure and will the help his brother and most of all do they fall in love and get a happy ending read this book to find out I recommend this book. I voluntarily reviewed an arc copy of this book for a honest review.
I love this story. I also love Ashley L. Hunt's books. They are wonderfully written and have such great stories. This one is full of action, suspense, drama, and of course a some hot romance. What is a romance book with hot romance! It is extremely well written and the flow to the story is fabulous. You don't get lost with flashbacks and such where you don't know what is going on. This is beautiful in all ways. It is a must read. You won't want to put it down until you finish the end of the book. It isn't short and leaving you hanging type of story either. This is most definitely worth reading. I voluntarily review an advanced reader copy of this book.
This is the sixth book in the Albaterra Mates series. It contains friendship, romance, mystery and hope. This is Zuran and Phoebe's story. The story line and the characters are great and the story is able to hold my interest. Zuran is the Interplanetary Affairs Officer sent to retrieve all the healers and bring them to the palace. Phoebe is a human nurse who is unhappy with the interruption when she has a patient to look after. Called to help find a cure for a strange new disease affecting the Novai colonists. Come read the story and follow the lives of these two as they hit for the cure. I give it 5 stars.
This is the first book in this series I have read and although it is book number 6 I would say it can be read as a standalone, but I also think that if you read the first 5 books in the series you will understand more about the universe that Phoebe and Zuran lives in. Phoebe and Zuran’s characters are sweet but still funny, and the romance is a slow build. The mystery and intrigue, action and adventures draw hook you in.
I received an ARC and I am leaving a voluntary review, but everything I write is my own opinion.
I have so thoroughly enjoyed the Albaterra Mates series that I'm almost sad to have finished this, the second to last book in the series. I wish I could slow down and savor it, but the excitement of finding out what's coming next, has me turning the pages with glee! That's how you know it's a great story! Some authors seem to putter out near the end, but Author Ashley L. Hunt is keeping the " pedal to the metal", so to speak, and I, for one, can't wait to see how this ride ends!
This is a really good sci-fi/PNR series. With Zuran and Phoebe's story though, I felt it lacked the sizzle and chemistry that the previous books in the series had. Zuran is an Interplanetary Affairs Officer, and Phoebe is a human nurse brought to the colony on Albaterra. I do like the way Ashley L. Hunt introduces characters and they appear in other books as well. Interesting premise, with Zuran's brother on trial, but I would have liked to see more passion portrayed in this story. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
Action, danger, suspense, romance, this story has it all and captivated me entirely! I must confess I had not read a book with such a spectrum of different life forms before and look forward to reading other books by this author. The characters were interesting and well thought out, and left me feeling hopeful for their future. If you enjoy fantasizing about life and romance with other creatures and cultures you'll also love this book! I voluntarily am leaving this review after reading an advance readers copy if this book
Phoebe is a nurse on Albaterra and Zuran is the IAO officer who is set to liaise with the humans and help where he can. One day all medical staff are taken to see the Elder. While there the Elder is accidentally killed by Venan who is Zuran’stwin brother. There is a trial and both Phoebe and Zuran testify in his defence before the council of Elders. Phoebe is with other nurses and doctors trying to find the answer as to why the Novai are sick. But during all of this Zuran and Phoebe find love. This is a lovely story and I cannot wait to read the final part.
Zuran continues the great tales that occur on the planet of Albaterra. I loved the depth of both the main characters in Phoebe and Zuran and the multiple layers to their personalities. The story is well-written with lots of action and adventure throughout the entire book. This book will draw you into the world of Albaterra and make you as excited as I am for the next book in the series. I can't wait to read about Venan!
A'li-uuds and Humans must work together to stop a disease before it spreads. As the team is brought together tragedy hits and the Council is in turmoil. The main characters are once again well written, but maybe not as perfect as in the earlier books. It makes this book very interesting and hard to put down. I enjoyed it very much and look forward to the next one in the series.
Another amazing Albaterra Mates book from Ashley and they just keep getting better. Bad boy Albaterran male, human female nurse and we have instant attraction. Aliens, love, adventure, mega drama, suspense and action - all in one exciting story. Can't wait to read the next book in this series. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Let me start by saying I enjoyed this book thoroughly. Now the nitty gritty. The book seemed to have two completely different stories happening, both were good but I think they would have been better separated into two books about two different couples. Now, I really liked both characters and they were sweet together. Enjoy. ***I decided to review an ARC of this book.***
Ms Hunt has written an interesting and intriguing story about Aliens from different planets and humans. Could these things really happen? According to Ms Hunt they have and she has done it very convincingly. This series a very catchy and only one more story to go. This whole series belongs in your TBR listing and your library. Excellent writing by a great writer.
This book is exciting, interesting, and holds your attention from beginning to end? It's a story that has many emotions, mystery, adventure, and steamy love scenes that are not over the top with awesome characters? You will not be disappointed in anyway and highly recommended.
Every time I think I've read the best in the series, I'm mistaken, this series just gets better and better. The mystery and intrigue, action and adventures will hook you until the next one. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Bad boy comes good. A nurse who has had tragic past. Novai's with a strange disease. Zuran and Phoebe witness the death of an Elder. Then Zuran will do whatever it takes to prove his brother is innocent of murder. Woo hoo great tale 👍
Just finished reading Zuran can not wait for more, would like to see future peaks into the lives of all couples so far in this series to see how they are doing. Love this series.💞
The story has the original race on Albaterra working with the human colonists to figure out a sickness of another species of colonists. It has a little bit of romance and an interesting solution to the illness.
Another amazing book. I was blown away with the story, I could not put it down. Wonderfully written with strong characters. I want more.....I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This series gets better and better. This is Zuran and Phoebe’s story. Zuran works for the Dhal’tarian Elder, Kharid. Zuran lives in the city of Ka-lik’et, which has recently added a human colony. He has been appointed as the liaison, or Interplanetary Affairs Officer, for the human colony and his Elder. His twin brother, Venan, is a member of the palace guard and a pain the butt. Zuran is ordered to bring the human healers to the palace to meet with Kharid about a disease that has broken out amongst the planet’s other colonists, the Novai. The Albaterran Elders are afraid the disease might jump to either their own people, or the humans, and want all healers to work together to find a cure.
Phoebe is a nurse at the human’s hospital in Ka-lik’et. She is originally from Ohio and finds the desert heat to be oppressing, but that is the only complaint she has about her relocation to Albaterra. While the rest of the nurses ogle the human soldiers, she has her eye on a certain Interplanetary Affairs Officer. When he comes to the hospital to escort them all to the palace for a meeting, she can’t keep her eyes off of Zuran.
I am not going to tell you about their adventures, you will want to read those for yourselves. I read a Beta copy of this book. My review is voluntary.
Zuran is the Interplanetary Affairs Officer on Albaterra. One day he gets orders to collect the human healers in the colony to bring them to the head elder. There is a medical crisis and the elder wants to use the human healers as well as the Albaterran healers to find a cure for a mysterious sickness. Zuran gathers the human healers and takes them to the elder's palace. When they arrive, they hear there is a crazed Novai on the loose. Zuran and his brother leave the humans with the elder to hunt down the Novai. They finally find him attacking the elder and threatening the humans. Zuran's brother stabs the Novai with his sword but the sword continues on into the elder. The elder dies even with the human healers trying to save him and Zuran's brother is arrested. Phoebe is a human nurse and is brought to the palace with the rest. She is confused and frightened but she is also drawn to Zuran. When the elder is killed, she does her best to save him but he is too far gone. She is later told that she and the other healers will be investigating an illness that is spreading among the Novai which makes them super aggressive and angry first, then the skin around their eyes rots, their skin changes colors and grows scales and then most die. Will they be able to find the answers to the sickness before it spreads to the other races on Albaterra? Phoebe and Zuran because friends and then even more while they are searching for answers. Zuran is also concerned about his brother who may be executed for accidently killing the elder. This is a good book with many twists and turns. I voluntarily received a copy of this story and this is my honest review.
