Alpha Wolf: A Paranormal Science Fiction Thriller (Olento Research #1) by Sarah Noffke, narrated by Elizabeth Klett, is an audible book I requested and the review is voluntary. It is a pretty cool book. The men are all taken and put in this research facility for 6 months and experimented on. There are 12 of them. They are kept drugged. One of them has extra strength, after all the the experiments, busts them out, all but one that was asleep/drugged and they missed getting him out. Two gals from ...more

Want a brand new take on werewolves?
What would happen if a corporation began genetically modifying humans to be part wolf, part human? How would those individuals react? The series blends science fiction with paranormal and creates a really interesting new concept for fans of both genres.

This is the first book in the four-books Olento Research series by Sarah Noffke. Although set in the same world of dream travelers as Noffke's other series and featuring several well-known characters from other books, it works perfectly well even if you are not familiar with Noffke's previous works as plenty of history is provided. However, if you've listened to/read at least the Ren series in the past, yo

The Dream Traveller world delves deep into the world of the paranormal and supernatural, even though one could say it already played there anyway. Werewolves are front and center in this first book of Noffke's latest series, along with a beloved piece of likely our favorite Dream Traveller ever. A daughter takes over the spotlight from her father, but is she ready for the challenge?

After reading 16 books from author Sarah Noffke, the most recent being the concluding book in the Kurtherian Gambit series. You'd think I would be used to her writing, NOT. I'd gotten this book back in October & never gotten around to reading it, my loss! I started the book & liked it so much I went out & got the box set so I could continue reading the series. Well, I don't do spoilers so you'll have to buy the book, read the books, get into a good author and some good characters as ...more

This book was incredible and I did not put it down until I was done! I love origin stories anyways and to have an origin werewolf story in my favorite universe was the icing on the cake. As always, the character development is the real story here. The plot winded and twisted and I saw names from other Dream Traveler series. I still want a timeline (need a timeline!) but the story was gripping and fast paced so it distracted me from that. I love how the story unfolds and the characters build up t ...more

*I received a copy of the book from the author for an honest review!*

This book is proof that you never know where life throws you. One day you're a perfectly almost normal human being, the next you wake up and you're a werewolf who craves blood, sex and violence. Even more so, you are another freaking race of people who can dream travel and have all sorts of tricks up their sleeves.
That is seriously messed up. Of course Sarah Noffke came up with it. Genetically engineered werewolves, 'cause that

This is a great start to the Orlento Research series. The introduction of engineered werewolves adds a interesting and different spin to Noffke's amazing Dream Traveler world. These wolves are not like any other were's you have read about, they are the first of their kind and are on the run from their creators. The Lucidites need to get to them first and figure out who created them and why. Noffke's excellent descriptive writing and Kemp’s great narration lets you feel their struggles, fears, ag ...more

This is the series that came after Ren Lewis. It is a stand alone series as well as smoothly knitted into Mrs.Noffke's other series.
It brought a smile to my face having a part of Ren back in Adelaid's snark.
If you read Ren, You will recognize several characters form the Lucidite Institute. You also would know the lead investigator into the Werewolf outbreak, "Canis Lupus Project"is what the creators called it. is Ren's daughter Adelaide. It was the level 5 case her dad had been working on and he h

She is an author whose story telling is mesmerizing. You CANNOT put down her books!

I read this book in 1 sitting! I couldn't bear to not know what was happening.
I know who I am rooting for, and what I am hoping will happen next. But if there is 1 thing i have 'learnt' about Sarah Noffke is that she will do exactly what you cannot even imagine!

I am a big fan of shifter stories and this was a pleasant departure from the popular trends in this genre currently.
I liked the twist of science, biology

I really enjoyed this story. The world of Dream Travellers is rich with possibilities as they each possess talents that seperate them from mere mortals. The characters are great I love that the women are both assertive and rude. The idea that science can create a werewolf is an interesting twist in addition to turning them into dream travellers. These hybrids have the strength and speed usually associated with were's but have additional powers which are yet to be discovered by most. Each of the ...more

Another great book by the amazing Sarah Noffke! I love her writing style, her world-building & the way that she is able to link such different stories together by using her characters & her worlds!

When I first heard that Ms. Noffke was writing a werewolf series, I was a little taken aback. After all, I wanted more Dream Travel & the Luccidites. But, I also love shifter stories. I was pleasantly surprised when these particular wolves were also Dream Travelers! And, the addition of som

Was given a free copy for an honest review.

Once again Sarah Noffke brings creativity and intrigue to her writing. This time it's with werewolves. No they don't howl at the moon or compete against sparkly vampires. Her unique tale brings a new light to an ancient myth. With unforgettable characters, intense drama, science and fantasy all rolled in to one. A must read!

This series comes after Ren. But is a new series that can be read without having read Ren.
If you read Ren you'll recognize several characters form the Lucidite Institute.
There were 12 men abducted from various locations, we meet 4 of the werewolf /dream travelers in this book Rio, Zephyr, Kaleb Magner, and Connor as well as a few of the lead people at the Olento Research facility. We read that one of the men was an apprentices of the dastardly Charles Knight. A character from the Vagabond Circu

Noffke and werewolves?! Yes please! This is a fantastic expansion of the Dream Travelers world and a fun way to introduce not only new characters, but completely new concepts! I still miss Ren (although I'm sure we haven't seen the last of him), but Adelaide is starting to fill that void. I love the new, more adult feel that this book takes on, but still is soundly YA, even though Rox and Zephyr certainly heat things up. Just to warn you, there is a bit of a cliffhanger at the end, so be ready t ...more

Great start to a spin off of Noffke’s Lucidites series. I love how the Dream Traveler world is spreading out through all these different books. There are several spin offs and all are linked in some way which makes them feel familiar right from the start. Several characters reoccur and new ones are always being introduced. Also, many of the spin off series can be read without reading the other books. Though personally I like going down the traditional timeline.
This book centers around Adelaide

Ok, where do I even start? Should I mention that you don't even need to read my review (you can if you want of course, lol) but you should stop and read Alpha Wolf, like, now! If this is your first Sarah Noffke book or you are an avid reader of hers, you won't be disappointed....at all! The characters are well developed and fun to follow. The world building is intense enough to put you right in the middle of the story. This is the start of a new series but if you have read Sarah's other books yo ...more

Well this was certainly a wasted 99c. The premise for the plot was intriguing, but the author failed in delivery. The characters were one-dimensional and unlikable-- from the vain, egotistical Adelaide to her reluctant FBI partner Rox (who dressed like a hooker for no apparent reason). Both women referred to the forcefully-turned werewolves as mutts and dogs, rather than showing compassion for their circumstances. The submissive, supposedly alpha Zephyr (it made no sense that Adelaide excuses hi ...more

Mika Lenna -- an already powerful dream traveler and head of Olento Research -- wants to control the world. He just needs two components: more bio-engineered dream traveler gifts and an army behind him. Capturing the twelve men was easy, as was experimenting on them while keeping them in drug induced stupors. But six months later -- on the eve of a new moon -- the men have fully awaken and are changed. Possessing new gifts of speed, strength and inhuman powers, they break free of their prison. M ...more

Not very good

First the pros. Well written with a reasonable plot. Now the cons. I could never understand authors who make major good guys such jerks. No successful organization could possibly function with such characters. Not good natured ribbing but full dysfunction.

This was... AMAZING!
Sarah Noffke did an amazing job. With every book that she writes, she improves. All her books are different, and that's the way I love it! Her characters are real, not unstoppable, all having weaknesses even when they are so powerful. I absolutely adore the characters for who they are, even the ones that are grumpy and such. This book was inspiring, and it inspired me to continue writing the book I am currently writing, which I stopped writing for a while.

Twelve men were kidnapped by the Olento Research to experiment with them. They were transformed in werewolves and given powers only possessed by the Lucidites. These men get to escape, and the Lucidite Institute will try to find a cure for them and try to catch the men behind Olento Research.

First of all, let me clarify that having read ‘The Lucidites’ is a prerequisite for reading this book. Maybe also the ‘Ren’ series, but

The Lucidites are large and in charge once more attempting a new feat to save the world! The new threat now is a team of researchers that have created werewolves, and not the sexy shifter kind ;) The person in charge of this level 5 investigation is none other than our beloved Adelaide, the infamous Ren Lewis's daughter. With still trying to get a grip on her father's recent passing, Adelaide is forced to dig deep and swallow her grief in order to find the loose cannons that are ripping the citi ...more

Alpha Wolf is the first book in the Olento Research series. However, I wouldn’t truly recommend starting this series until after you had read The Lucidites where you will understand much better what does being dream traveler entails. That and the fact that certain characters and situations were taken from other series made things a little too difficult to understand. Don’t worry, you could still understand the story. Nevertheless, I believe that a little background explanation was needed to buil ...more

Alpha Wolf by Sarah Nofke

Eleven men selected by their skills to be experimented on and injections given to mutate them into werewolves and cage them within the Olento labs. That is until, they became strong enough and broke free and each scattered in different directions--except for the one who hid long after the cages were searched by security.

Due to reports of Werewolf sightings after a woman was mauled in Los Angles, The Lucidites were on the hunt for the rest of the Werewolves before anyone

I was really looking forward to this book and was not disappointed at all. I was hooked from start to finish. It's a well written, creative, entertaining, engaging and very enjoyable story with a great cast of characters. It's a fast paced story that keeps your full attention. Bottom line it's just a darn good story. I was irritated anytime I had to pause the story and couldn't wait to get back to it. As soon as I was done I was ready for the next book. My only complaint would be is that I wish ...more
