I could’ve fucking strangled her. She knew it too because she stepped away quickly. “Touch me and I’ll have you!” she snarled.
“Bruja mala leche! What the fuck do you think you’re playing at! You can’t push me around!”
“Sure I can.” Her eyes were slate grey, the same colour as the sky, and just as cold. “I need help, and you’re going to give it.”
“What the hell are you talki

Once I got used to the phrasing and language of this story, I found it to be an enjoyable, suspenseful read. Natalia was spunky, sassy, feisty, strong, independent, reliable and amazing. Quique was fierce, loyal, devoted, dominant, aggressive, alpha, protective, intelligent and supportive. I enjoyed the development of their relationship and how it was obvious to me, the reader, that they were on their way to forever, even though they were living in denial. The author explored many facets of the ...more

“You remember to cosset my pride, and I’ll cosset yours.”

When it comes to mafia/cartel stories we usually see characters who are in the top of the chain of command, perfect confident members who are always in control of the situation and never question themselves when it comes to success. With “Dirty Dealings” though that was not the case, we finally have the chance to see the life of those who are not in command, those who simply have to follow orders from their boss and accept the punishme

2am is not my usual bedtime but this book kept me up reading till way past my usual bedtime! What an interesting, provocative, intense but also at times humorous novel. I love the way the author creates flawed but lovable characters that fall for each other and become stronger individuals as a result of their relationship.

Sitting with a British friend yesterday I was giving her the gist of the story when she said, “Wow! Peckham is where my daughter taught when she finished her education!!! She

AJ is at her best with this series, absolutely love the Zeta family! Each story she tells about them is filled with action, madness and mayhem, experienced by the dark and dangerous men and the sweet women that hold their hearts. Those women overcome hardship, don't complain about it,but fight back....these men admire that, appreciate them, love them and will do everything for them....and i mean everything. Make sure to get to know all of them and buy this whole series!

Natalia is a girl I can relate to. Quique is one of the only men that really understands her. They some funny and intense times trying to protect Natalia and her family and the Zeta Cartel interests.
I LOVE this book. I can't wait for Ms. Adams next book. She can have some dark and intense books but they are very well written and I enjoy them greatly.

Wow! Amazing book! Can't get enough kind of read!!!

Quique had been having some trouble at home.  The kind of trouble that causes a man to lose respect. The cheating wife kind of trouble. When he was going to fix it, he was sent to London on a job. He is a professional! He is the best at what he does. He is a killer! While in London he learns he is a lot more than that. Following his bad luck, in London he finds another woman to drive him crazy. But

This was a book that I liked but didnt love, so I am only giving it three stars. In Dirty Dealings we meet two 'families' that are known as cartel/gang/mercenary families with lots of enemies. Quique is introduced as a hard character who is really good at his job of security for the Zeta's. When he comes across Natalia, who is by ex-husband related to the Truelove family, he sure has met his match. She is a doesnt take shit from no-one type of gal and smart as a whip. I was intrigued by how much ...more

An interesting start to the book. We see Natalia three years ago, and then go right into Quique. Quique is a part of the Zetas cartel out of Mexico. What happens when he returns home after a three day trip to Bolivia? When he gets up to the house, past the guard who is smirking a bit, what happens when his wife Tina tries to 'hold him up' by talking to him? What does he do? Who does he go see after he takes care of business? Where does he get sent to next? What happens with Tina? We then find ou ...more

This story was a bit different then the other stories in the series, I can't say that it was better or worse, This is however one that I am ok with not reading ever again. Ok well not ever just not so soon, It was slow going almost the whole story. The characters in this story are super great and really mesh well together, They are the only reason I kept reading this one. They made it come to life and really make it worth the read. This story was just not for me written about the same as the oth ...more

Dirty Dealings was a great 5 star read.

All I can say is wow, what a read. A.J. Adams has pulled me right in once again.
Don’t start this just before bedtime because you won’t get any sleep.

Natalia was a very strong woman and didn’t take crap from anyone. Than she meets her match in Quique. Quique, is the head of the Zetas, he has come to London to take care of business.
Natalia has taken over running her family bar. When Quique meets her he is instantly dra

I loved Dirty Dealings! This is Quique & Natalia's story. They meet when the Zeta Cartel send Quique to England on a operation for the Zeta's. Quique is the second in charge of security for the Mexican Zeta Cartel. Natalia finds herself running a pub for her ex Father in law (he is in jail) and no one else is either responsible enough or capable of running it. And, she has been asked to run it by the family even though she is divorced. But, Natalia is a caregiver even though she is known for ...more

I am still "gob-smacked" - as our friends from across the pond & this author would say ;) IMHO this book is the Best ever that I've read in decades in this genre!!! Contemporary fiction with romance, suspense, action packed, cartel, mafia, a strong kick-ass female heroine, a bad-ass hero with a soft touch at his core for family & friends! ... A wild roller-coaster ride of emotions will keep the pages turning! A unique storyline with great attention to detail hooked me from the get-go! .. ...more

Awesomely written. Adams creates two separate distinct worlds: a Mexican cartel and a lower income London district family. Each with it's own voice and background, multiple characters and family connections. Then she creates a plausible scenario that brings these two worlds together. The literal collision happens between the highest ranking hitman Quiqui and the strongest female character I've ever read, Natalia. He's responsible for building his cartel's empire in London and she's responsible f ...more

This story was hard to put down, but I had to. It was only until I got off work though. Evidently, the boss frowns upon kicking your feet up on your desk to read while on the clock. Who knew?

With this read you are going to enjoy getting to know the strong female lead, Natalia. And who doesn’t love bad guy with a soft spot for a head strong woman who is more than capable of giving him a run for his money.

This is yet another great fast paced read from this author. It’s packed with the action and

This was a really interesting story. Quique is part of the Mexican mafia sent to London to take care of a project while there he runs into Natalia a normal everyday British chick except she's not normal. She's done some things to protect her family and she would do it again. So Quique and Natalia have this love/hate relationship until about half way through the book and that's where most of the action happens. I found the second half of the book more interesting because it was one thing after an ...more

Couldn't put this book down. When it did end I found myself wondering what happened next? The characters were both strong. The story line does have a lot to due with cartel dealings, and situations that might bother some. However the author rights with such love and passion you find yourself loving every aspect of the characters. If you have never read a book by this author you are truly missing out.

AJ has delivered once again! I can always look forward to her strong female characters, and she did not disappoint! Nats is tough as nails, but she may have finally found her match. Tons of anticipation and surprises, especially the cameo appearance of two of my favorite characters. Loved it!

This entry in he series is weaker than #2, but better than #1. The dark double-dealings were intense - a lot more people were shot in this book. The woman's situation and her crazy family were more awkward than the earlier books. She's underpaid and caught by circumstance, but she's no criminal - or is she?

The thriller aspects were very strong, and the sex was good (not great). The mystery was a slow-boiler, and I had a good idea who the bad guy was early on. The resolve was not what I expected

Enrique “Quique” Ramas is a man that lives side by side with violence. But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have feelings. Natalia Truelove works in the family business but has aspirations for more. You will find that at times it feels like she’s talking right to you.

Our author creates an interesting first meeting for these two characters. Once I read that scene I was hooked. I was impressed how Natalia has a lot of guts trying to get what she wants no matter the consequences. Somet

I think this is the best A.J. Adams book yet. Dirty Dealings is hard to put down. It had me ramped up from nearly the beginning, totally invested in Natalia and her family, and reconciling her life with the Zeta cartel.

Ms. Adams got the balance of action to backstory just right in the beginning--wheeled me right into it without losing me to any drawn out explanations about things in the past. This book just kept steamrolling forward, very rarely letting up in intensity.

I love how strong Natalia

Another excellent book by this author. I must say that this type of book is not my usual read, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Natalia is not your average woman. A horrid past has given her an inner and outer strength one could only envy. Quique has met his match! When a hit goes wrong and a girl disappears, Natalia and Quique are thrown together. The third volume in the Los Zetas Cartel collection, Dirty Dealings is also the tamest. To the extent that a novel that features a Cartel Enforcer as the hero can be 'tame.' Compared to the other two in the series - it is. Quique (Henrique) arrives in London to take retribution on whoever shot the local boss. Through a series of (improbable) events, he ends up in charge of a complex business deal and going toe-to-toe with Natalia. The lynchpin of her large London-based family, Natalia is as resi ...more

AJ Adams married her best friend and moved to the tropics where they are living their own Happily Ever After. She believes writing is not so much a passion as an obsession.

She writes twisted stories of love, mayhem, and murder as AJ Adams and sweet romance novels with strong women and very hunky men as Ellen Whyte, her IRL name.

When she's not writing, she's cooking and gossiping with her friends.
