Then the Doorbell Rang is a story that revolves around a girl and her life. The title is interesting so does the plot. The cover could have been better. The story is quite predictable yet the suspense element made it an engaging read. Characterization is clean. Language used is simple and coherent. Book is little bulky yet manageable. It's a one-time read for me

Then The Doorbell Rang by Capri Jalota is an thriller, my expectations had started from the moment reading title which is similar to Agatha's famous novel. The expectation was thoroughly fullfiled. So intriguing with mysteries and emotions.

Story is all about Jane and her life, starting of the story made me to travel throughout the 395 pages where Jane is not interested to celebrate her birthday nor New year and made handful decision then the doorbell rang. Story takes roller coaster ride with Ja

This book revolves around Jane's life...the ups and downs she faces.Although this book doesnt belong to a genre I normally kept me interested till the very end....The author has managed to describe the intricacies of human relationships beautifully.By the end of the book i really began to feel for the main protagonist Jane.
I find it difficult to believe this is the author's debut novel.Overall a really good read.

'Love is a feeling that brings happiness in your heart and soul. ' The quote is soothing to hear and read but reality is different. Love is not always about flowers and music. There is a different reality about love and lovers.
Capri Jalota, through his book 'Then the doorbell rang' brings to light, four love stories that are different from each other. The love story of Jane and Uday, Uday and Radha, the love story of Jane's parents and one more love story that I would not want to divulge, in ord

Her life was a series of misfortunate incidents, she held herself through it. This is was Then The Door Bell Rang is all about.

The book consists of 395 pages which is quite a good number to intimidate someone. But the start had the magic, the author Capri Jalota has made sure the first 100 pages (approx) to be so captivating that the reader is anxious to read the rest.

A book, simply based on one’s life itself is something that the reader can treat themselves with as a break from thr

Honestly I had mixed feelings when I finished the book. But definitely I enjoyed the read. The story totally revolves around different kind of relationship with different people. When I saw the title and cover of the book I felt that it’s going to be a suspense thriller. But it turned out be with the flavor of romance with little thriller.

Jane was completely shattered when she loses important persons from her life one after the other. And she comes to know that those people had one face in front

A wonderful book, worth reading.
Cover is nice, the silhouette background gives a nice touch to it. But I feel it could have been better.
Title is awesome and I liked the way it has been selected aptly according to the story.
Theme is very hard to tell as its filled with conflicting emotions and at some places we learn many things about life.
It starts with the basic fact of Indian society
The book involves emotions, sadness, pain, happiness, jokes, laughter, embarrassment, care, most importantly

Then the Doorbell Rang by Capri Jalota is one of a kind book which gives insight into the life of Jane whose life has taken a 360 degree turn and is now nothing more than a misfortune. It proved me wrong as I expected it to be a crime or thriller material , but this book is something totally different.

The title itself is enough for any bibliophile to pick this book in one go . The intriguing cover is something that can appeal anyone . The blurb if quite good giving the reader the required amoun

Then the door bell rang talks about a girl and her journey through the ups & downs in her life. It may seem boring or monotonous at the beginning, but trust me it's amazing. You just have to bear it till the end. Actually the title is what caught my eyes, it's unique & the way it has been highlighted unleashes a new light in my life. Coming to the cover it's beautiful, no words can describe the way it gives a thriller perspective to my read.

Some books you read. Some books you enjoy. But some books just swallow you up, heart and soul"

Isn't it just so great when you find one of those books that completely drags you in and make you fall in love with the characters and demands that you sit on the edge of your seat to know what's coming ahead? "Then The Door Bell Rang" Is one of the those books for me, and fortunately the book accompanied me on my vacation, slumber evenings, beaches, good food and good read.

Death and disease are inseparable part of life. One cannot escape from these. Death, divorce, disease, bomb blasts are the theme of this book. Not a very happy and fun book to read.

I thought it to be a mystery thriller kind of book going by the title. It seemed the doorbell rang and some psycho killer enters to slash. Nothing of that kind here. So stay away if you want that.

When you start reading chapter 1 and you know the title of the book, you know what you are getting into. This is a thriller but not a crime or murder mystery type of thriller which usually thrillers are synonymous with. There is a lot of heart in this, quite a bit of Bollywood (forced in places, unforced in others), endearing characters who had side roles but left a bigger impact on me than the protagonist who I felt could have been the author at times on his attempt at what a woman might feel. ...more

I have started my new year with reading this book! Thank to my friend for this book. For me it was a good read, this is a one time read. I liked the way the author has included all the things that all are needed for a book to be perfect. The Plot is nearly perfect could have been better, the characters are nicely presented .
Reading the title I was guessing it can be a horror or a murder mystery! Title justified the story. Language is lucid and the narration is in flow. Simple yet intriguing stor

Then The Doorbell Rang begins with Jane thinking about jumping off her balcony and killing herself. Then, the story moves through multiple flashbacks in order to explain her reasons for wanting to do so, and her life in general.

The story was well written, well planned and easy to follow despite the multiple flashbacks. Though the flashbacks oftentimes weren't written in the correct tenses, which irked me a lot.

The characters were real, well created and had their own personalities. There were,

Then the Doorbell Rang by Capri Jalota is (very) loosely based on the story of protagonist Jane, and it is a book that is very easy to read. The cover page was good but could have been better. This was a beautiful story. The setting was vivid and the plot was thorough and well written. I learned much from this book and I could picture the vivid scenery. The way it was written was just so beautiful. Scenes that I would have otherwise found awkward were handled tenderly with grace.

Then the doorbell rang kept me on my toes. I usually have the habit of taking breaks from reading but definitely not for this one. If the initial pages of a book doesn't hook me, I will postpone reading and take my own time. This book differs and yes, it's thick yet I finished reading within one day.

I trust that says it all as to how serious and focused I was into reading this fascinating story. The author has taken a great deal of effort to make his book, a spellbinding read without boredom ge

The first thing that I noticed about this book was its title. The title, Then The Doorbell Rang really piqued my interest. This book was sitting on my shelf for sometime now because I had to complete writing reviews of some other books and all the while I was thinking when I’ll get to it finally. The cover though not much ornamental; that half ajar door definitely suits the title. I am kind of in for cover

The title is perfect and very apt for the book. I really loved the way the author introduces the word “Door” and the way he has used the words “Bell” and “Ringing” to describe it. The title also gives us a philosophical idea of life. The human ego is the ugliest part of man. We lift up men who only show us darkness, and put down those brave enough to show us the light. Likewise, people engage in darkness when it is light outside, and acknowledge the light only when it is dark. We aband

The title of the book 'Then the door bell rang' is a little long, but indicates the reader that the story could be a mystery. The book cover could have been better and relatable to the plot.

Though her parents cared for her, they failed to show it to their daughter which brought out serious depression in the lil girl. And later when destiny separates her from her loved one, she was l

Review: This book is author Capri Jalota's debut novel. The main theme of the book is the continuous ups and downs of the journey everyone undertakes, called life. It also includes looking at it through different perspectives instead of one and understanding all pieces of the puzzle which could come together in the end.

Pros: The books expands the idea of "There are two sides of a coin" very well. It explains a situation from the point of views of different characters, this helping us to empathi

But it's neither of the three. The story deals with the nitty-gritty of human emotions and relationships.

The story deals with the life of Jane, her relationships, her emotional upheaval since childhood especially after her mom’s departure. Due to this, she is unable to attach herself emotionally to anyone. But when she stumbles u
