One reviewer said that Jackpot is akin to "Breakfast Club on wheels."
Before pagers and cell phones, and before Facebook and YouTube even existed, five strangers in Chicago meet in a car on the ride of their life. Vi is a songwriter on the verge of moving to Nashville, and Tom is her silent admirer. Sean is a drunken Irish boy ogling every skirt in the bar, and Sarah is a

I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway. When I first started reading I wasn't sure if I was going to like it but it was a great story.

I received this novel for free through Goodreads Giveaways.

If I could give it a 3.5 I would, but Goodreads doesn't allow that! I straddled the fence between rating this novel 3 or 4 stars since I enjoyed the story and stayed engaged in the plot but I don't think I will be adding this to my 'must read again' list.

Jackpot is the story of five strangers whose lives intertwine for one night during a late-night road trip to nowhere to purchase lottery tickets.

I won this book through Goodreads Giveaways. I really enjoyed the back stories of the characters and how their stories came together at the end. This book was so realistic that you could find yourself relating to the characters. Smooth reading and easy reading.

I was invested enough in this to keep reading and care what happened to characters in the end. But this just moved too slowly for me. It does a good job of building up the characters, but not much happens. I'm sure it's meant to be that way, but I look forward to a bit more plot.

This book seemed interesting, and at times it was. I felt like it was trying to be The Breakfast Club but with twenty/thirty somethings in a car. The book had its moments, but overall, there were no lessons learned. I suppose it's like life, everyone goes back to their own life regardless of one event changing them for a few minutes or hours.

There is hope for four out of five of the characters by the end of the novel, but I was overall disap

Born in Chicago in 1971 to a carpenter and housewife, Anita loved writing at a young age. Growing up in a Chicago suburb with her five siblings was a loud and adventurous time, and Anita was often found at the library reading her new favorite, or writing a poem or short story.
