Nina and Knox flirted a bit when Tess, her best friend and J.D. his brother decided to try the whole long distance relationship out. Nina wasn’t really a relationship-type person, so that would never happen. After his first go with having a woman, Knox was more about meaningless sex. Since they both could agree on one thing, they tried the casual affair. What they did not expect, was their own issues coming to knock on their door.
Knox is a hard one to pin down but Nina is worse because both of them have very few cares to give. Read about this roller coaster relationship and see if two hard hearts can find what they have been searching for.
This is an IR. stand-alone, but highly recommended that you read the first novel, with visits from your favorite By Chance, No Choice couple, Tess & J.D.
Xyla Turner was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. She has always been a writer, even as a teenager, she wrote short stories and essays that won awards and nation-wide competitions. Xyla is an avid reader of romance novels and a sucker for sassy females and dominant males. She is a lifelong learner, High School Vice-Principal and a pretty good Auntie. Outside of reading, Xyla likes to spend time with her family and friends, experiment with dangerous adventures and travel. She writes different genres, but her favorite is romance.
Knox (JD's brother) and Nina (Tess' best friend) are commitment phobes. Knox due to a bad marriage and Nina due to her cheating parents. Knox pursues and then runs from their non-relationship one too many times, until Nina is fed up -- over it and him! Knox realizes something has to change and it starts with him letting go of the past. Nina recognizes that she needs answers from her parents in order to let go of the past and open herself up to the possibility of a future committed relationship.
Knox is a straight up shoot from the hip crude (see quote) caveman and makes no apologies for his neanderthal tendencies. Nina is a no-nonsense tolerated, I can do it myself woman. Once they finally figure out it okay to need each other, there is no stopping the inevitable.
"Told you we had more than a fuck. It's more than that and even if the thought of being hog-tied and dying from suffocation scares us, there should be something sacred about us. I spent a lot of time fantasizing and dreaming about your pussy, then a whole week of taking my fill of it, so I'm laying claim to it. Don't want no one sniffing around it, licking or touching it with any of their parts, unless it's your hand and I'm instructing you to do something. I'll show you the same courtesy with my dick, and I say we go from there."-Knox
Story ends at 84 percent Coming Soon: Mills and Nadine
Another great read by Xyla. I would have liked to see a hell of lot more actual dialogue between Knox and Nina but I was glad that they were able to sort themselves out so they could be together.
This series just seems to get better and better with each new book. But after reading what Mills problem is going to be, I can't wait. Both of these stories felt with personal issues. It's time for a change.....on to book 3!!!!
Another SEXY read...Knox and Nina's journey starts off rocky...they're both carrying around MAJOR baggage which prevents them from moving forward...they try to have a no-strings attached affair...but the attraction is more than physical...yet neither is willing or able to admit it...so they spend unnecessary time apart...but during that time apart they each learn some life lessons...the cast is still LIVELY and fun...and despite the editing issues AGAIN...I was still captivated by this storyline...plus it gives a GREAT follow-up to Tess and JD's HEA...can't wait to read Mill's story...KUDOS Xyla Turner on crafting an ENGAGING romantic series.
Both Knox and Nina needed things in their past lives that they both needed to deal with before they could commit to each other. Their attraction to each other was hot and heavy but those issues needed to be addressed.
Lennox, aka Knox needed to deal with his broken heart and feelings of inadequacy and Nina needed to deal with the fact that she was brought up in a loveless marriage. Both of them needed help from a therapist.
Xyla wrote an interesting sequel to the Stetson series. I can't wait to see how Mills and Nadine deal with snarky Rebecca in the next book.
4.5 stars! This book had me going through it. Nina and Knox were lovers and fighters who just couldn't stay away from each other.
I knew Knox was special when his character was first introduced. I immediately liked him because I could feel his spirit through the pages. His alpha male tendencies were such a turn on. I was under his spell.
Both Nina and Knox had plenty of unresolved issues. At first they were all about being loose wild and free. Neither wanted a relationship, but when the universe sends you "the one" resistance is futile!
I loved how they went back and forth in their "situationship". It made for good reading. I wanted to smack both of them a few times, but was happy with the outcome. In fact I would love a sequel. I couldn't get enough of those two.
The on again off again on again off again reminded me of one of the main reasons why I stopped watching Scandal. Damn annoying. I couldn't deal with this.
So Knox and Nina, Humm, a very interesting couple. Very stubborn, strong and independent but there chemistry was lacking a little. Knox, was JD's brother but very different. He was strong, stubborn, rough around the edges, but had a huge baggage (so it seemed). He was an alpha but the ball stopped there. Romance was not his forte in this story (maybe through another story we might get a glimpse, but romance is not for him. He felt something with Nina, but he ran away. Nina, was also different. She didn't have relationships nor commitment but when it's about Knox, she wanted everything. When I first got introduced to this couple, in JD's and Tess's story, I th out they would have need epic and better than JD and Tess, but somewhere along the way, they either got lost or they were the badass couple that was being portraied That said, it was still a good one, minus the push for issues that didn't need a whole book to figure out. Now what is going on, is Nina pregnant or not?
This is my review and how I see it. Author Xyla Turner provides us with another fantastic story in Meet Me Halfway. This story explores what happened between Nina (Tess's best friend) and Knox (J.D.'s brother) and their relationship. The Stetson series has some strong alpha males who fight not only against themselves but will fight for the women they love. Both Nina and Knox have some underlying issues they need to deal with because they are in denial about who they are with each other. This book like the first one will segue into the third book in this series. From what happened in this book, it looks like it is going to be another good one.
It was good to see Tess and J.D. in this story. Pops is my favorite, and he needs his own story {hint, hint}. Yes, I am ready for Mills's story.
Knox and Nina were two people dealing with heavy burdens of their pass ,playing like they were going through the motion .That is until that motion became real and they had nowhere to hide .There passion was raw but their wounds was rawer .Who said loving was easy when all you have ever known was pain, this was the one question they had to ask themselves.I can’t wait to see what will happen with these two in the future and what also will happen in the next book with mills
I thought I loved Tess and JD's story until I opened this book. Knox and Nina's story knocked me off my feet and had me laughing, frustrated, loving and rooting for them both, tearing up and wanting more. I appreciated how Nina being strong, but also vulnerable and giving as good as Knox gave. The work they put in while a part to begin to heal, it made their whole dynamic so refreshing and exciting. I love the whole family too, Pops and the brothers.
Omg 😲I have never met two people that's so flipping stubborn in my life! Granted the book is fiction but I was ready to put my hands through the book and bang both their heads together 🤦🏾♀️they've frustrated me with their back and forth but the love is there, they're just afraid to take a chance. It took them sometime to step back and really think as to why they're not giving it their all, and now look at them 🙄😂they're crazy over each other, I kind of like it that they didn't just give in to their feelings, their love is that much special🖤💙🖤
Nina and Knox's story was interesting. I liked Nina's independant mind and Knox was hot but at some point he acted a bit too much like JD, ans not in the best aspects of JD's character that is all the dominant ordering woman around stuff that I dislike. The whole situation was also a bit too similar to JD and Tess. Also why do writers seem to think that 'punishing' a woman is some naughty sexy thing, but hardly ever write about 'punishing' the male leading character the same way? Anyway, this story was interesting.
I loved it. A five star read no doubt. I read it in one sitting. Incredible penmanship and oh so worth the wait. Totally ready for Nadine and Mills story. The chemistry between Knox and Nina was incredible. The storyline was simply amazing. Turner took her characters deeper as they grew together, healed their own individual hurts and were able to move forward into a beautiful future. A lovely dose of reality along with fantasy. Kudos
Knox and Nina are a fun couple to see grow and deal with their other stuff so that their love could be untainted. I love that this series is not sugary sweet perfection. This is real stuff that couples have to deal with to get it right. So poignant are the views and ideas that free us to love or we allow to break us. Knox and Nina chose each other and love. The journey is the way to discovery.
Knox and Nina were like two peas in a pod. They were both difficult people and wanted to remain unattached. The author did a great job of writing this story and developing the characters. It definitely kept my interest from beginning to end. I also liked how the author revealed the reasons they didn't want to get to close. The story definitely highlights how life's circumstances can shape you. Great job!
Can you say DRAMA? I told myself I wouldn't do novella anymore because I felt they left too many unanswered questions. Xyla didn't change that fact for me. As Knoxx and Nina's story was complex. It needed to be vetted more as to not leave thing unsaid.
Of course I appreciated the closure Knoxx received from his ex.
I appreciated the closure and new found respect Nina received from her mother.
I was so looking forward to reading their story it was great. And I was happy to see what was going on with JD and Tess and find out where they were going to be living at too! These two had a lot of past things from their lives to work through. After all how can you expect to have a future if you're still allowing your past to run your life. Now I hope a story with Mills is coming soon cause I can't wait to see how he's gonna handle his situation!
I hate to say I just couldn't get into these two. I ended up rushing through and I dont particularly care if they work it out. I had to go back to refresh in my mind the name of the female lead. Nina was too static and unyielding until she wasn't and then she was too soft. Knox was all over the pla e and it's just too hard for me to believe these two could last through those long separations. I gave it three stars only because I usually do enjoy this author.
Oh my goodness, this book is so enlightening. I found myself analyzing my choices, and wondering if I needed to forgive some folks, or ask for forgiveness. Lennox and Nina carry emotional baggage that is not their own, as well as some serious scars. They are a work in progress, and I love their story. No typos in this edition, which I must say is very nice. We also get an update on Tessa and Jagger.
Well the storylines are good and the author puts about great and strong characters, the dialogue seems pretty much repetitive and interchangeable with most others in the series. I totally skipped over the intimate moments as they are pretty much identical in each book. Though I feel compelled to read the next story in the series, I’m not enthusiastically looking forward to it because, it’s pretty much the same script.
I thought the story was decent. Nina and Knox were a fun couple but it lacked the spark that part 1 had. I could predict the outcome so there was no real surprise in this story. Even though there will be other stories in the series I think im over my love affair with the Timms men.
It is my first book to read in this series, and I enjoyed it. Knox and Nina were to two people destined to be together. However they bounced back and forth like a basketball, and I am glad that they made the shot to love. Great life lesson to learn as I read. Ready to read about Mills and Nadine.
Knox and Nina had some major issues. Knox was quite the bully at times but Nina gave him a piece of her mind often. They both needed to get over their pasts. The two of them together were fire. It was nice to get an update on Tess and JD. Can't wait to read Mills and Nadine's story. Should be interesting.
what a rollercoaster ride Knox and Nina have!! Almost lost each other in the process. They both have deep issues, and they don't believe in relationship... However, their attraction to each other is of the chart. Thankfully, they finally get their shit together! Great characters and storyline as always Ms Xyla!!
The storyline was much too short with too many ‘snippets’ of other books. And Though Nina’s and Knox’s story appears to be a HEA .. in the 3rd book of the series Knox is back to being a lonely drinker and he and Nina are not together. So there in lays the disconnect. What happened??
Knoxx was amazing and I could definitely understand his hurt but it was really time to let it go because it was destroying him and everyone around him. Nina just was letting her past blind her from what was real and both her and Knoxx kept running scared. But Mills story has me anxious.
This book is a great read! I love the chemistry each character has for each other and the love they share. Knox and Nina are hot together and they way worked through real life issues that could ruin a relationship. Therapy is a way to help one resolve things that are normally pushed to the side. Love this book!!
