This had some good historical details, but overall wasn't too impressive. Also, there were a few words in there that didn't seem appropriate for a Christian book.
I like that Ben starts out as poor, but honest boy who gives his employer more than an honest days work and that he ends up a solid Christian war hero who recognizes the girl who was always right in front of him is a better choice than the rich beauty he'd craved as a high schooler.
I didn't like the depths of depravity that came in between those two high points.
