Can’t Fight the Feeling is book three in the Nashville Dreams series by Sandy James. In this book you are going to meet the third partner of the three men that own Words and Music, a Nashville bar that features up and coming artists.

Russ Green owns Words and Music along with his partners and best friends, Brad and Ethan. He has watched his friends fall in love recently with two wonderful women. Even though Russ’s own parents and grandparents had that same kind of forever love, he knows it can’t
Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

I always look forward to revisiting Words & Music and the wonderful men who own this little gin joint in Nashville. Sandy James, in her third book in this series, gave us two amazing people with problems that only love can fix. Russ and Joslynn had a bumpy ride ahead of them but, with a little understanding, were able to ride out the storm of their life and find happiness.

Russ always had a temper but, lately, the stress of his life is getting the better of him and he seems to be blowing up

There are times Russ doesn't want to have a conversation, “a briefs kind of guy,” she said. “But I have to admit, I didn’t expect them to be baby blue.” He shrugged, having better things to focus on than his choice of underwear." There are times Russ's lady shocks him speechless, “I’m thinking about switching my shifts in the ER to days,” she said. His eyes widened in surprise. “You can close your mouth now,” she teased." I liked this book, I loved Russ.

Can’t Fight the Feeling is a quick and easy romance novel that is moderately enjoyable. While we haven’t read the prior two books in the series we were able to fully immerse ourselves in this novel’s world and characters without being confused. From Can’t Fight the Feeling you get steamy romance

Synopsis: Russ works with his partners at their restaurant and bar. Sometimes he moonlights as a bouncer there, and lately, he has been having increasingly vitriolic altercations with their patrons as a bouncer. When he ends up in emergency needing stitches, he runs in to Joslynn, the best friend of one of his partner's wives. Russ has met her, but doesn't want to do a relationship as he has some family issues.

This book's about love overcoming obstacles. Two people, two life threatening terminal illnesses and music. I requested to read this book off NetGalley (thank you for the eARC) yesterday because I was looking to read a romance novel this week. I loved the flow of writing, how different and stubborn the characters, Russ and Josie are, and even more so their friends who do not give up on them.
It's a short sweet romance but it's got a great pace and you cannot help but root for Russ and Josie.

Russell/Russ hated the smell of hospitals and yet here he was in the E R but the evening shift manager left right after in to go back to work at Words and Music. Russ had a gash in his forehead and needed stitches. He wanted to leave but he might as well get treatment now as he would be charged anyway. If only that bottle hadn’t cut his head Josie realized this was was a partner in Words and Music with her best friend Savannah’s husband Brad and Nathan. She had only met Russ twice before, once ...more

Received in exchange for a honest review.

Of the three books in this series this is my favorite. Why? These two people were strong independent and focused. They both had stress in their life and trying to deal with it on their own. Both felt happy to be alone until they met one another in a chance moment in the ER.

Russ was a good guy who had a lot on his plate. He was also afraid. Afraid to love someone because of what was happening in his world. His anger was always on the surface and he didn’t

Can’t Fight the Feeling is a romance with emotional punch and characters who, at times, may take actions that are difficult to really understand. I think it’s very much a walk in my shoes story in some aspects because I do not know how I would react to Josie’s life fighting and winning the battle against leukemia and still living in fear of it returning to wreck havoc on her life once again. I do, however, have a better understanding of Russ having taken care of a

This was a very emotional read that I thoroughly enjoyed. The future is a mystery as to how life will play out, but for Russ & Josie the future looks bleak. Russ is watching his father slowly lose his battle with Alzheimer’s & knows that he could most likely be headed on the same path if he has the gene. Josie has already gone through a life altering illness as a child that has hardened her toward the future & any recurrence of the disease she battled. Both know each other through ...more

A truly engaging story with two strong individuals. Excellent writing style, fantastic dialogue and secondary characters and I found myself smiling while reading this story.
Both Russ and Joslynn are great people, each with their own issues, problems and flaws. Russ is deliciously flawed – he has a terrible temper – and it makes him quite human and attractive. He’s a man’s man who loves to dance, and isn’t that appealing and sexy…

Pulling her into his arms, he couldn’t shake the feeling that holding her felt…different.

Going to keep this review short—I really, really enjoyed this book. It was sweet, with a little steaminess, and had a super fun ending. I read it quickly, invested easily in both Josie and Russ, and generally smiled through the entire thing.

Not that it didn’t have its sadder moments. I thought Sandy James, whose books I’ve often enjoyed, did a great job of dealing with the heavier topics of

Nearly 4 stars, 3.75!
It was a first book from this author, and i’ll read more of her books.
It was refreshing: the H, was ex-NFL player, and he was a bit SHY (imagine my surprise), and he was gorgeous! He could dance! He played guitar and made a song for the heroine!
I loved the heroine, she was strong, she was independent, she had her fair share of bf/fb/....But she had such a strong walls around her heart, poor girl, from her childhood till she met the H she was only hurt by close family o bf. I

This is a highly emotional story about two people dealing with devastating illnesses that affect every aspect of their lives. Russ is coming to terms with his father's diagnosis of early onset Alzheimer's and wondering if this debilitating disease will affect him as well. Josie dealt with childhood leukemia and lives in constant fear of a re-occurrence of the disease. They both try to keep people at arms length to prevent causing anyone pain but sometimes the heart needs to feel regardless of ...more

I wanted to love this book, and although it was well-written, it took me too long to love the characters. I wasn't invested enough in them until half way through. The storyline was amazing, Josie and Russ both having medical "issues", working through both of them to come together in the end. I was irritated by Josie's stance on relationships, and Russ' reasoning behind letting her go. But, in the end, they were able to make up and try to build a life together.

Oh I REALLY liked this read. This was different. Its Russ and Josie's tale.
Russ does a little of this and that and in that reportage he is a bouncer. One night he ends up needing some medical assistance and runs into Joslynn (Josie) a friend of a friend. As a side note when I read this scene I mentally decided Josie wanted to probably render Russ unconscious rather than sew him up and send him on his sweet way !!!!.

This is a really emotional read but it was so good, Russ is struggling with coming to terms with his father's illness as well as wondering if he will end up with it too and determined to stay on his own and not drag anyone into his mess. He meets Josie a nurse in the ER one night after an altercation at his restaurant. She has her own issues with relationships and never wanted anything long term.I loved watching these two try and get past their fears while also fighting their feelings for each ...more

This is another one of those technically well-written books that I just couldn’t bring myself to finish. Wanna know why? Sure you do! (Kind of like when you ask your significant other if the milk smells bad, then you shove it under their nose so they can take a big whiff, because that’s what people do. We smell the milk. So, smell the milk with me, people. And always remember that what I think stinks, lots of other people enjoy.)

First of all, Can’t Fight the Feeling is not to be confused with

Fear has a lot to do with our lives than most of us like to admit. Most of us our anger strength, career, or fierce love to see the fear, we can beat it.

But what can happen is what seems to happen to Russ. His anger while at the business, he is a third owner in with his best buddies is showing the ramifications. You see they own “Words and Music” a restaurant and dance bar in Nashville.

After each of the men’s careers in other professions, Russ’s being the NFL. They all join in together in “

4 1/2 STARS!

Feisty attitude, kind souls and feel-good moments! With the third book in her Nashville Dreams series, Sandy James brings us the story of the tough guy of the bunch, Russ. We've enjoyed the stories of his partners Brad & Ethan previously, so we're already familiar with their bar Words and Music. It's fun to reconnect with the previous couples and see where they are now, and there's just something about Brad that made him my favorite one of all! Really enjoyed this story!

A true opposites-attract romance with a strong emotional foundation.

Russ is a bit of an old soul, a man who still believes in a forever love even if he doesn’t believe it’s possible for him. Joslynn, on the other hand, knows for certain that love is a fool’s errand and the only one she can ever count on is herself. These two are constantly tossed together by mutual friends who believe they’d be great together, but neither is in a good place for a relationship until Josie is on duty in the ER

This is the first book from the series and I didn't read the previous so all the characters were new to me but you could read it as a standalone. In this one nurse, Joslyn and bouncer Russ fell first in lust and also in love. Joslyn is from young age alone in everything and is hard for her to let control to another person. Russ is also struggling because his family is facing Alzheimer and he could have the gene and is freaking him out. So they both have a reason not to get deeply involved in ...more

Russ co-owns Words and Music with Brad and Ethan ... and lately he's been helping the bouncers at the club, looking for a fight with anyone. He can't contain his emotions because he's scared to death that he will end up like his father ... battling Alzheimers. Joslynn had leukemia when she was 10 and beat it! Now she's a Nurse Practitioner so she can help as many people as possible. Neither Russ or Joslynn are looking for a relationship, but that doesn't stop the chemistry between them.

This story caught my eye and so I decided to give it a chance. I’m really glad I did, the story itself has depth to it. Russ ends up in the emergency room where Joss has to patch him up. Joss is an independent woman, who knows what she wants and also how to get what she wants, she doesn’t hold back in any way.

Joss is a strong passionate female who knows what she wants but Russ unnerves her in more than one capacity, it’s this unnerving element that keeps me reading. Her cancer battle has defined

I really like the Nashville Dreams series. This time we have Russ's story. I liked him in the previous book, but in this story, he is having some serious anger management issues and loves his job as a bouncer a little too much. Josie is a nurse and good friends with the women in the previous stories. Brad is a typical guy and not a great communicator. Josie is a survivor and isn't interested in a long term relationship, so of course they are going to be attracted to each other. This is an ...more

I received an ARC through Netgalley of this book. The beginning of Can't Fight The Feeling did not really manage to pull me in. I found that I had a hard time getting into the story, but that might just be because I haven't read the first two novels of this series, so I wasn't as invested as I could have been.

But, as I was reading, I found that I came to like both characters. Russ and Josie both have some issues they need to overcome, but manage to find their way back to one another every time.
