I was first introduced to Julie C. Gilbert's writing with a novelette, The Quinn Case, in an anthology called Where the Light May Lead. Reading the novelette was much like watching an evening crime drama, which I do on occasion, and I was in that kind of mood when I started the Heartfelt Cases series. I wasn't far into my reading before I was like, "Wait, wh-what?" The Collins Case had me hooked early, and it moved at a good pace without skimpy or rushed storytelling.

The Heartfelt Cases aren't sappy heart tales, but they're heart and mind battles where life and death are the stakes. Even as a ChristFic lover, I found the Gospel language to be heavy at points, which can sometimes feel like a shift from story-mode into Gospel-tract- or Christian-devotional-mode to me, and there was a time or two when scenes felt disjointed and the flow was hard to follow.

But the books are quite a mix of heart and satisfying suspense, and I'd definitely recommend this series to other Christian suspense fans.

Love Julie's variety of genre' and stories. She is always offering free stuff and each book is autographed = usually comes with postcards and bookmarks too.
This set was exciting - page turning - tear jerker - fun! what more is there to say about a great author.

Loved this book. I am so happy to have a book that incorporated the word of God into chapters so that you were able to understand how it tied to the situation at hand.

I loved all of these books. This series is a lot of fun, and ties in to the author's other series nicely. I really enjoy the Christian Crime aspects of these books, and would love for this author to continue them. =)

Dr. Christopher Collins and his Dr wife Rachel seem to have it all. Two small children and a house along with a wonderful life.
All that changes one night when Rachel and the children, Jason and Emily are kidnapped. Who would want to harm these people? That is a mystery and now everyone is looking for them.

Ann and her partner Patrick work for the FBI but Ann remembers Rachel as a friend years ago. Although she is not involved in the case she decides to take matters into her own hands with the help of her prayers and God's. What she uncovers is very frightening and she prays for the safety of the three of them.

Sometimes people are not who we think they are. Other times people keep secrets from the ones they love. Although this was a quick, easy and enjoyable read I felt that too much emphasis is placed on God?

I loved these books. They were a great mixture of light and breath holding moments, not least of which is how these two people continually end up in the thick of the drama. The stories were clean, with loads of messages about the love and faithfulness of our Lord. These are a great way to introduce God to those who have not heard anything about Him, which sadly, is more common than we think these days. They also address some of the misconceptions that are held by those who have been fed distorted information about the church and God. I read to escape and these books allowed me to do that effortlessly. So if you want to take time out from the everyday world and join a world that is electrifyingly entertaining grab a copy of anyone of these books. You will not be disappointed.
