This was such a lovely book full of cute ideas for every room of the house. I loved several of the ideas, that I'm planning on trying some myself. Wish me luck:)
I love this book! I feel like I need to own this and refer to it throughout my life, or whenever I need decorating ideas and advice. There is a blend of new purchases, reusing old items, and creating brand new items as well. There is texture, color, patterns, repurposing, fabric, paint, wood, metal... bright colors, neutral colors, and all sorts of items covered from pillows to chairs, curtains to cabinets, shelves to racks. This book literally had it all.
It does focus more on the country esthetic, but Country Living did make the book. So, have realistic expectations here. However, you can apply these principles in many different ways.
Really loved this book. The format is great...hardcover, smaller size. Photos on every page and great text accompanying. Nearly every room was my style, and even the ones that weren't gave me some great ideas. This is one of those decorating books that makes you look at your rooms with new eyes and new ideas.
I wish GoodReads would give us the option of half-stars in our ratings, because i would really like to give this book a 3.5 because it's better than just a 3 but perhaps less than a 4. This book is a very fast read, and offers some fun ideas for creating "mini makeovers" with little fuss or expense. I checked this book out from the library to see if I wanted to invest in my own copy. It really wasn't for me, but I did find a couple of ideas I will possibly create in the near future. If your style is country, you will likely find levels of inspiration among the pages. My style is between Victorian and French antiques, and is a bit more formal than the country look, so the ideas in this book really aren't something I would seek. It's well put together, and an easy read.
Even though you may not do any of these they are very inspirational. There are several ideas I developed through going through this book. It covers many areas of country decor too.
Actionable tips, tricks and crafts. I have discovered some ideas that will really make my living room lovely. Of course, not everything is perfect...a chalkboard used as a headboard ("that doubles as a memo board!")? HA imagine the dust. No thanks...
