About the author

Sheryl Green

“Yes. Of course. I’d be happy to. It’s no problem at all.”

Sheryl Green has taken “people-pleasing” to Olympic levels. For decades, she put everyone else’s needs above her own… until she hit a metaphorical brick wall.

After committing to one too many responsibilities, Sheryl discovered the importance of boundaries… okay, she actually discovered that boundaries were even “a thing.” Now, she works with individuals and organizations to establish healthy boundaries to improve relationships, communication, and well-being.

"Goth" as a teenager, Sheryl dreamed of being an FBI Profiler and hunting down serial killers. She earned a Master’s Degree in Forensic Psychology but decided against spending her days in the minds of criminals. Instead, she has worked in Mental Health, Customer Service, Public Relations, Education, and the Non-Profit world. This brings a unique blend of experience and insight to her audiences.

Sheryl is the author of six books (of her own), including "Surviving to Thriving: How to Overcome Setbacks and Rock Your Life," Once Upon a Bottom Line: Harnessing the Power of Storytelling in Sales," Book Writing For Busy People," Do Good to Do Better: The Small Business Guide to Growing Your Business by Helping Nonprofits," "A Pet Parent's Guide to First Aid and Prevention," and her latest, "You Had Me at 'No': How Setting Healthy Boundaries Helps you Banish Burnout, Repair Relationships, and Save Your Sanity."

She is also an avid animal advocate, dedicating her life to providing a voice for those who cannot speak. She previously served as the Director of Communications and Cuddling for a local animal rescue and continues to donate her time, talent, and money to animal welfare organizations.

When she’s not working, she’s spending time with her husband and their two fur babies, doing yoga, and tending to a small jungle's worth of houseplants.

I picked up this great book and could not put it down. Ms. Green puts everything into a very easy-to-read format, which made it easy for me to get through her book rather quickly. The premise of the book is when life "kicks you in the a$$", don't be the one to bury your head in the sand. In fact, Ms. Green writes about growing and becoming better versions of ourselves after experiencing numerous setbacks that we may face throughout our lives. After reading her book "Surviving to Thriving: How To Overcome Setbacks & Rock Your Life", I also come to realize that I need to become a better version of myself. I've had the opportunity to hear Ms. Green speak and if you ever have the opportunity to do so, I highly recommend it as she is as genuine as her book reads. Kudos on the great book!!!

This is a must read book for anyone who has, or is going through, any struggles or changes and wants to get their life back on track. Sheryl has an easy and fun writing style, making it a quick read. I liked how she shared her personal life struggles so openly. It made me know that the advice was coming from someone who has really been there and writing from the heart.

This author's brand of humor will have you bouncing from chapter to chapter while providing sound advice to some of life's toughest questions. Not your typical dry self help book. You won't be able to put it down!
