এই বইয়ে মোট তিনটি কাহিনি আছে। তার মধ্যে দ্বিতীয়, অর্থাৎ উপন্যাসিকাটি যেমন জমাট, তেমন জটিল। তৃতীয়, অর্থাৎ গল্পটি অত্যন্ত গতিময়। কিন্তু প্রথম কাহিনি, অর্থাৎ উপন্যাসটি সিম্পলি অদ্বিতীয়। বাংলা মৌলিক রহস্য উপন্যাসের ধারায় "টাওয়ার অফ সাইলেন্স" একটি উপেক্ষিত কোহিনূর বললে কিছুমাত্র অত্যুক্তি হবে না।
সুধীজন, গোটা বইটাই পড়বেন; কিন্তু প্রথম লেখাটি পড়বেন ধীরেসুস্থে, রয়েসয়ে। 'চিড়িয়াখানা' বা 'বহ্নি-পতঙ্গ' না হলেও এই কাহিনিটিও নির্দ্বিধায় 'ক্লাসিক' পদবাচ্য।

I read part 3 of this series, which consists of 4 stories, namely “Tower of Silence”, “Kuheli Bileen” (The Fading Fog), “Aarokto Rajani” (The Red Night) and “Haaynar Haashi” (The Hyena’s Laughter). I found all the stories extremely interesting and full of intelligent sub-plots and twists. Basab is a smart and cool detective who does not waste time in getting deep into the investigations. He is ably supported by Saibal in following up with the interrogations. The stories are well paced and does not delve into too many descriptions or irrelevant details. I was pleasantly surprised by the fluent pace and the fluidity of the stories. Of course, the climax is well presented and Basab solves all the cases at the end.
