Good wrap to an excellent series. It left several potential places for the story to branch or spin off into other series without leaving it feeling unfinished.

4.5 for me.

This was the last book and I'm so sad to see it finished! I'm not ready to say goodbye to Sunaya, but with the way the author made it, I enjoyed seeing her, getting a break with Fenris, and coming back for a final time. And this book was pretty funny. It's a last act of proving herself but this time, it isn't to the world or their town. It's to Iannis's family. And the women are... well, not all that impressed with his bride-to-be.

It was entertaining, pretty fun but I had major nostal

Great storyline! This book is the perfect ending. This series is filled with adventure, romance, drama, and intrigue. What more can you ask for in a series?? All of them are fun reads. However, this one stole my heart with the ending. When love is tested, you must decide if it is worth the risk or not. No love is worth keeping if you cannot survive the trials that will certainly come your way.

Absolutely loved this series! So sad to see it end but it was an excellent ending. Perhaps we’ll see some of the other characters in future books?
I thoroughly enjoyed the characters and their journeys it will definitely be one I’ll never forget.
This book was full of emotion, adventure and suspense and one not to be missed!

Ahhhh, the ending to a wonderful series! The last eight or so books have been quite the adventure and I must say I'm unconsolable that it's the end. How dare she end it, right? I will desperately miss my favorite Chief Mage so.

Over all the Baine Chronicles world was filled with a mix of innocence (I think this was Jasmine's first published book?), allure, magical moments, suspense, adventure, and danger. You can't forget the characters either and everyone who helped make it the story that it was

What a great ending to a great series!

Oh this book is truly bittersweet being the ending of the long journey of Sunaya Baine and Iannis, the Chief Mage. The excitement of Sunaya's surprise testing by her not so great Grandma on her husband's side truly had me biting my nails hoping she would survive and wishing Iannis would hurry up and save her. Of course, Grandma gets what's coming to her in the end! The wedding was even more beautiful than Fenris and Mina's, and with the blessings of Resinah

I was both excited to dig into this book and sad that this is the last book in the series. This book is a wonderful final adventure to complete it. I love the well thought out characters and the great descriptions that lead to easily form pictures in my mind. I admire Sunaya's strength and determination to conquer any difficulties thrown in her path. This book is action-packed, full of danger, magic, adventure, secrets, romance, shifters, mages, friendship, and mystery. My favorite is Trouble, ...more

Trials of love

Sunaya is enjoying some free time with the girls playing hide and seek when a hand comes out of the fountain and whisks her away. She finds herself face to face with lannis’s grandmother Ta’sradala, his mother Ennartha and his aunt Deryna. She is to take on 3 dangerous tasks to prove she is worthy to marry Iannis. She is terrified yet angry at Ta’sradala for taking her right before the wedding. Will she survive and find her way back to the love of her life. A perfect ending for th

Oh let's just get it out there, I'm sad this is the last book in this series because this is one absolutely great world and characters. This book does not disappoint either, it's action packed and filled with surprises. I really wanted the evil grandmother to get a harsher sentence but 500 years does give them time to have a family. I'm glad to have read both series in this world. Now I have to wait for a new book in one of the authors other 3 worlds.

I received an ARC of this story and have chos

An excellent read

I love this series and was not disappointed in this book that might be the end for the characters. Crazy things happen, like always, and they handle it so well. Sunaya is a favorite tough as nails character and I love her relationship with each person she loves and holds dear. Her soon to be in laws leave a lot to be desired and I wouldn’t deal with them!!!

Great ending!

This last book of Sunaya's may be over but I hope to learn more of the new adventures that the Tua trio have with Barrla and Marris, as well as I am still interested in Annia's mysterious torque magic spirit.........

I liked the story but not for the end of this series. I wanted more for their relationship to help cement their bond. Their relationship took a backseat to the action (like it did in all the other books). I wanted more then stolen moments for them. :(

Sunaya is the best!!

I love sunayas spunk. She is confident and compassionate. She loves without prejudice. Her sense of moral justice protects the innocent and helpless. I love her story.

Sunaya’s wedding to Iannis is approaching and the couple is as busy as ever when they discover that the Minister has decided to hold the mages Convention in Solontha the week before the wedding. To make matters worse they receive a letter from a surprising source who has apparently been gravely offended that they weren’t consulted regarding the marriage. Sunaya is pulled from Solontha when she’s needed most and she finds herself having to overcome insurmountable odds in order to prove that she i ...more

I loved this series, and I am sad its over. But life must go on, and so must Jasmines writing.
Everything seems prepared for the greatest event in a long time - the wedding of Sunaya and Iannis. Nevertheless, there is still so much to do, secure, organize, prepare... that Sunaya desperately wishes for a break. And break from the chaotic wedding preparations and mage gathering she gets, only she wouldnt dream of such break even in her wildest dreams. Family is everything, right? But not every fam

This is the eighth and concluding title in the series. Sunaya is attending social gatherings leading up to her wedding, and she hates it. When she has a little free time, things don’t go as planned and she ends up kidnapped by a member of Iannis’ family, a family that doesn’t think she’s worthy to marry him and must go through deadly trials to prove her worth. Will Iannis find her before it is too late, or will she miss her own wedding? I have to admit I am going to really miss these characters. ...more

sad series is over but great ending.this was the first series I fell in love with by jasmine Walt and I am sad to see it over! this last book was exciting, interesting and very different. I honestly did not see how a book about a wedding would be this great,i didn't want to read it because it was the last but am glad I did. the book delves into the tua more than other books and brings together a lot of the characters that have left the still leaves some questions unanswered and to me it l ...more

**Spoiler Alert**

I actually really enjoyed this book, I put it off to begin with even though I pre-ordered it because I typically hate "goodbyes." However the way Jasmine ended it made me very happy. I loved the fact that Fenris made an appearance and had his wedding first! That was a surprise twist that I absolutely loved. All in all it is still left somewhat open with some side characters like Annia, so if Jasmine ever decides to write more in the Recca universe it is not going to be a difficu

That being said I have this novel on preorder since I love this series and I believe all on my amazon family library should read it.

The last novel was amazing, and honestly I thought it was the last of the series which made me sad to lose a “one more page” novel (readers we all know what I am talking about). This novel when I heard that we were getting another book in the series I got a dash of excitement for another “one more page” which this

And they lived happily ever after...but before my favorite characters, Sunaya and Iannis ride off into the sunset, they must go through some adventure right? Yes! This begins the last book in the series of the Baine Chronicles. Sadly, the story must wrap up sometime and if it has to, this is the best way to go.

Taken by Magic is great. It's the things you have come to love and expect from author Jasmine Walt. Sunaya is kidnapped just prior to the long awaited wedding by Iannis' grandmother. She

At long last Sunaya and Iannis wedding will soon be happening. Both are exhausted from attendings receptions and parties in their honor. The morning after a party, Iannis receives a letter from Ta'sradala, his Tua grandmother, complaining about not receiving a personal invitation to the wedding. Brushing off the invitation demand, Sunaya goes about her busy day. While playing hide and seek with three little girls, Sunaya is pulled under the water in the garden pool. I was lucky enough to get an ARC and have enjoyed it immensely.

I knew this was the last book in the series before I started reading it so I knew Jasmine must have had something epic in her mind to wrap up this wonderful series and wasn't disappointed.

Sunaya once again proves she's a strong independent woman who don't need no man but she very much likes Iannis anyway enough to stand up to the in laws throwing a tantrum.

It was wonderfully descriptively written and I'm glad we got to meet the in l

Trials and Tribulations but a HEA

This is the last book of the Baine Chronicles for Sunaya and Iannis’s story. Taken by Magic does a good job of wrapping up loose ends in the plot, giving the reader closure on the characters, while embarking on another fascinating adventure. The book also introduces some new characters, leaving me to wonder if there might be another spin off series similar to Fenris’s story. If you haven’t read the previous novels, please start with “Burned by Magic”, as the sto

I have enjoyed the journey with Sunaya from the discovery of her mixed shifter/mage heritage to her union with Iannis. While this chapter of their saga was not as exciting as the previous books, it was a nice wrap up of her adventures. I felt that all the story lines that were woven through the series found a conclusion, there were some that felt a little rushed and made me wonder why it couldn't have been handled earlier (Fenris especially)
Overall I did enjoy the book, but I felt it was not up
