Rav Miller looked into the terrified, intelligent eyes of the chocolate Labrador on death row, and knew he’d do anything to save him. When the dog, Sammy, escapes and heads to Mad Creek, Rav follows. Mad Creek. The town had become legendary in Rav’s mind after he’d met that bizarre group last year. Rav dismissed his crazy suspicions back then, but when he arrives in Mad Cr ...more

This series could have been written only by someone who loves dogs. That loves shines through on every page!

Sammy, a chocolate lab, reminds me of my white lab, Magnum. I am his person, and he would follow me to hell and back. He gives and comforts without asking for anything in return.

Sammy loved his mom, but he couldn't save her. When his mom's sister takes him in, her abusive husband takes out his rage on Sammy. Sammy ends up alone in the snow chained to a tree. The next morning he's in
Let's go back to Mad Creek, CA for another dog shifter adventure!

Rav is a human who runs a no-kill animal shelter in Arizona. (We met him in book 3 when Jason was trying to find a cure for the virus.) He makes monthly trips to the nearest high-kill shelter that can't keep up with the serious over population problem. Rav chooses dogs that have a low chance of being adopted; Older dogs, black dogs and dogs with chronic medical issues. On one of his trips he meets a terrified chocolate lab named Sa

While I absolutely ADORE the Howl at the Moon series by Eli Easton, I have to say that How To Save A Life was my least favorite of the bunch.

Don't get me wrong, this book is CUTE. This series practically defines sweet and fluffy, but certain things that didn't bother me as much in previous books didn't sit right with me here.

For one, I struggled a bit with the innocence of our dog-shifter MC, Sammy. I couldn't get past the fact that he seemed almost child-like, much too much for my comfort. It

I have read and loved every single book in this series and this one was no exception. I think every one who loves dogs as much as I do, should give this series a go. These books are sweet and cute and fluffy !!!!

Afbeeldingsresultaat voor the cuteness is real + gif

Even though every book is about a different couple, I really think you should start with book 1 , How To Howl At The Moon, because of the worldbuilding.

This book is about Sammy and Rav. Those of you who have read the previous book ( How To Wish Upon A Star ), already know Rav, since he w

Matthew Shaw was such a perfect choice to narrate this series. He captures the characters perfectly and brings the story to life.

I loved Matthew Shaw's performance! I love his character voices, his timing is impeccable, and everything from his pacing to his tone is always spot on. This audio made me smile every time I turned it back on.

I sure hope there's more to come in the series and that Matthew Shaw continues to narrate them all. ❤🐾😍

I'm a huge fan of this series and totally loved the first seventy percent or so of this story. It was pretty much perfect.

Sammy's innocence and Rav's curiosity were very entertaining to watch play out as the story progressed.

The irrepressible exuberance of all of the quickened, especially Milo was so much fun to see. Like when Rav first showed up in Mad Creek, I thought Milo was going to freaking pee on the floor like a butt-wiggling, tail-wagging cocker spaniel. Those parts made me laugh so har

This time, for a change, I rooted for the human and he gets all the stars from me!

I mean, what's not to love about a tattoed, muscled hottie with a heart of gold who saves dogs for a living? Umm, okay, the beard would be debatable, but the rest? *nomnom*

It's weird, though, because give me a cute dog and I will be all over him... At the beginning I thought Sammy would be another fit for my virtual book dog shelter, and I was already scrambling for a bag to go a

descriptionHmmm...this one is a bit hard for me to rate. There were parts that I absolutely adored. That made me bawl like a baby. The writing was excellent, and it was well paced. It had an excellent cast of likable secondary and primary characters. BUT there were parts that turned me off and made the book feel weird. The fact that Sammy was (view spoiler) and all the pages devoted to that issue lower

Loved it! Lots of great reviews already written of this and I'm only on my first cup of coffee so... great, fun book with lots of extra sugar.
4.5 Stars

This is one of my favorite shifter series. It's cute and delightful and adorably endearing and it doesn't take itself too seriously. Except for Lance -- he takes everything too seriously (I love him, anyway).

How to Save a Life is the 4th book in Eli Easton's <i>Howl at the Moon and it is brilliant! The innocence and enthusiasm of the quickened in Mad Creek is enough to make me smile for days. I smiled the whole time I was reading this story (well, except for the beginning, which was

I liked the book, I may even have loved the book, but I was already emotionally invested in Sheriff Lance and his partner, Tim. I loved Rav with Sammy, but the antipathy, the challenge between him and Lance, in which Lance was the poor loser, well, that coloured the book for me. So a solid 4 stars, some great, emotional, touching moments, and Eli Easton cannot write a bad book, but it did feel a little at Lance's expense. Hope Simon gets his HEA, and, still wondering about Jason's old boss...lon ...more

It would have been 5 if not for the bae thing nope, no that's just unacceptable.

The rest i loved.

The first chapter had me crying, what Sammy went through as a dog was heartbreaking. I hate animal abusers. The story was a nice super slow burn.I loved Rav he ran a shelter for rescued dogs that alone earned him my love.

Sammy! he broke my heart, i loved his innocence but at times he was so childlike. I loved him and his newly discovered quickened body.

Re-read August 2019

It's my third time reading (listening) this book and somehow the things that only annoyed me a bit at first were more noticable this time.

I REALLY hate the endearment bae.... Every time Rav said it I cringed.

And I couldn't stand Lance in this book. And that's sad because I did like him in his own book. It's never fun to start hating one of the former MCs.

I'm going with 4 stars instead of 4.5 this time.

This series is too adorable
This book is brilliant!! I loved every. Single. Word.

How to Save a Life is book 4 in Eli Easton's must read series, Howl at the Moon. I have loved every single story and adore all the characters in this series. This story just added two more loveable characters to the mix and I feel like the series just gets better and better!

If you have not read any of the stories in this series then you are seriously missing out on a fantastic series! While I personally would recommend you start at the beginni

4 Stars!

Oh how I love this unique series! It’s perfect for when you just want to feel good and get some wonderful warm cuddles.

What makes this installment different is that Rav is basically in the know. He loves his isolated life, saving dogs one at a time and not having to deal with greedy backstabbing humans. Rav prefers his 4 legged comrades as they don't have any devious expectations of him other than companionship and care, and he doesn’t regret for one second leaving his corporate cutthro

Mad Creek. How I love thee. After googling Mad Creek, California and finding out it’s just a stream, my plans for moving have been placed on hold until a real shifter town opens. *sigh* I love this series and have loved each and every book…until this one. We met Rav in book three and I was excited to find out that the broody, growly, tattooed dog shelter owner was going to get a starring role in this book.

In How to Save a Life, we are introduced to Sammy,

I spent the night deliberating my rating but in the end I decided I had to rate up due to how much pure joy this story and its characters brought me, regardless of any little niggles I had along the way. *cough* Lance and his meddling mother always drive me batty *cough*

I absolutely adore dogs and if Mad Creek was a real place I'd pack my bags right now and be on my way without a backwards glance. Throughout this series Easton has truly captured that love and passion dog lovers experien

One of my favorite series! I just love the whole town!
Simply spectacular!

This might just be my favorite of the series so far. I love the romance between Rav and Sammy, and both characters have a wonderful backstory. Plus lots of scenes with our favorite characters of earlier stories in the series. Honestly, this one's absolutely perfect.

I have to admit, in the back of my mind was always the question of what happens when a quickened was "fixed" whilst still in doggy form... Eli Easton addresses the issue in the most sensitive, romantic, and kindest

This is FAST becoming a favourite series.
Yes, there are small niggles, that means they are not 5 star reads for me, but OVERALL is this series a fantastic, funny, heartwarming read.

Eli Easton returns to to Mad Creek, California -- the town where quickened lives freely with her fourth book in "Howl at the Moon" series. Personally, I liked it better than the previous one. However, there were still a number of things that made feel uneasy when it came to addressing physical sex scene between Rav and Sammy.

Good stuffs first!!

I think this is a must for dog-lover MM readers to read. I am a cat person myself but gosh, even I can't help falling in love with all the dogs

If you’ve ever wanted to read a book that makes you feel good...

...leaves you smiling and wanting more and makes you laugh every time you talk to your own fur baby and he tilts his head at you like every word out of your mouth is vitally important and he knows exactly what you’re saying and you’ve been left wondering “How much do you truly understand?”…you need to stop right now and check out Eli Easton’s ‘Howl at the Moon’ series because it will do all that and more.

5 sweet Sammy stars! :)

This Book 4 of Howl at the Moon is a bit weird for me. Oh, I loved it, no fear here!

I loved Sammy so much - first the sweetest, cutest chocolate labrador who was traumatised and so afraid of big men that there was no hope for him for being adopted from the dog shelter.

And then a miracle happened - Rev, whom we know from Book 3 found something special in Sammy's eyes and his despair and took him in.

But Sammy wanted more, he's heard about Mad Creek, a town full of the 'quic

Every time I think this series can't get any better and the characters can't possibly be sweeter, Eli Easton writes a new book and proves me wrong.

I totally adored this book and it made me smile almost all the way through.
I know I say this about every new quickened but Sammy was adorable and just so cute.
I already liked Rav in book 3 when we got to meet him for the first time and I loved him in this book!

This series is so much fun. I loved sweet, naive Sammy and Rav, who was perfect for Sammy.
32% - This book is making me SMILE!! Probably because I love dogs so much, but aren't her descriptions of the people and how they are so "dog like" the best?!

Ok so I really enjoy this series and the characters are awesome but I found it hard to see Rav & Sammy in a sexual relationship. Sammy just came across as way too young & naive and it actually felt weird reading about them getting each other off. Rav was great - honor, integrity and all things good, but it just didn't feel right. Maybe Sammy was too fresh as a human - he had no idea and appeared too childlike for me. Of course I'll continue to love Mad Creek, hopefully Sammy will be a little mor ...more

This is the last one in this very entertaining, literally AND figuratively fluffy series.
And just like all the other instalments I immensely enjoyed it.

We met Rav in book 3 as the badass, tattooed owner of a dog shelter. He is totally dedicated to saving doomed dogs and clearly finds canines more trustworthy than humans. And more lovable. And more ... everything!

So when he figures out the secret of the quickened he is fascinated and wants to know more. I loved how Rav 'knows' from early on and
