I love this world!!!

I love the way McMaster makes the situation more and more complicated with each book!
When you finish the book you think that it was the most complicated one, but the next one is even more and the next even more.... and it just continue to escalate! WOW!

Here the Russian court is brought into as big players in the never ending game for power!

New weapon is dicovered and it is terrifying! With that how can you be sure of anyone?! Who to trust?!

I loved Gemma and Dmitri/Obsidian!

I've given this an A- at AAR, so that's 4.5 stars rounded up.

The third book in Bec McMaster’s London Steampunk: The Blue Blood Conspiracy series, You Only Love Twice boasts an engrossing, intricately-woven and high-stakes suspense plot woven through a steamy second-chance romance and I was glued to it from pretty much start to finish. We’ve reached the middle of a five-book series, and the author provides some compelling plot developments, drawing together threads from the first two books to r

You cannot forget your pain without forgetting all the goodness that comes with it.
Pain is what makes the pleasures of life seem so vibrant.
If you didn't know pain or loss, then you would take for granted what had been gifted to you.

**I received a free copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.**

Oof that ending is going to keep me on edge until the next book. Also, I’m just so excited for Charlie and Lark’s book. I have been waiting for it for 2 years, and it’s finally coming next –I can’t even fathom right now.

Here are some of my thoughts:
• I love Gemma. She is so strong and competent. Also, I appreciate that we get to see how strong the bonds within the Company of Rogues have become. It is wonderf
This is the book where the Company of Rogues turns into family.
Yesterday I watched the movie Deadpool 2, and at the beginning Wade Wilson tells the audience that this is a "family film." Well, he was right because the directors and writers hammered it over our heads that the ragtag band of misfits becomes more than a squad out to save a teenage boy, they become family. Now, maybe Bec McMaster was inspired by Deadpool's clutch of superheroes, but I actually think she pulled it off better than the

I read the title and instantly my mind brought up images of espionage and Russian spies ! Yes I admit I’ve probably watched too many movies but it just sounded like such a tantalising prospect and I can happily say it delivered. With its beautiful, eye catching cover to up the ante even without knowing what would happen I was desperate to know what the author had conjured up for this couple . It’s a relationship that has been gradually teased at in previous books so it was high time to discover ...more

Gemma Townsend is a spy who was sold to a school of assassins when she was a little girl. She learned how to fight, how to kill but no matter what they tried to make her, she never stopped feeling and never lost her heart. But it came near to that five years ago, when she gave her affection and her love to the enemy.

Now a member of the Company of Rogues, a group of clever, strong and sharp people from different social class who fight for the common good of the citizens of London and to prote

I love the series so much. The only series in the Steampunk genre I've read actually. Gemma and Obsidian's story was amazing! I loved the resolution of their sad and horrible past. Although there was one element I hated so much that I previously took off one star. That was the part where the villains were super smart, so smart they could FORCE good guys to commit murder at their command! Yet all the heart-pounding, action packed, as well as light-hearted parts outweighed it. A good discussion in ...more

Another stellar outing in this series that I enjoyed. I love the whole mystery that has been running through this series; the continuity of it and the romance seemed to fit right into it. The H just couldn't harm the h no matter how much his "conditioning" tried to make him hurt her. I liked the hot & passionate romance and the unveiling of who has been pulling the strings. I can't wait for the next book.

Gemma has a niche with the Company of Rogues as a well trained spy. She has gracefully deadly moves and a sharp wit. Her huge heart and capacity for loyalty are her greatest strengths, yet also her greatest weakness. When she gets up close and personal with her past, she has to decide if everything was real...or fake.

Obsidian has a mission to take down the enemy, but there’s something about Gemma that has him hesitating. He feels hatred and love when he thinks of her, torn by two sides of the s
5 stars for another phenomenal installment :) I absolutely loved it and will have a full review all ready tomorrow... *sighs happily* it was just soooo good... :)

edited to add my full review :)

I voluntarily reviewed an early copy of this book :) this is the third installment in a spin-off series from one of my all time favourite authors... there is no possible way for me to discuss any parts of this particular story without mentioning some definitely spoilerific details from the previous books,

Another great addition to London Steampunk: The Blue Blood Conspiracy series, You Only Love Twice exceeded my expectation. After my little disappointment with The Mech Who Loved Me, McMaster back again with her trademark, kick ass heroine, tortured heroes, angst, but the more important thing, a non-stop action. The book have a slow start at the beginning, with the heroine, Gemma Townsend's captive by Obsidian. Both are spy, agents, with long back history 5 years ago in Russia, when Gemm

Quick note:
I read the first (Mission: Improper) and second (The Mech Who Loved Me) books in The Blue Blood Conspiracy in advance of You Only Love Twice, but if you are new to the series, I encourage/recommend (I'm begging) you to read the The Blue Blood Conspiracy books, and the earlier London Steampunk series before you pick this one up. (They're uniformly great. I promise!) I LOVE this author and her steampunk world, but I struggled to remember lots of little details that help round

I’m not a fan of 2nd chance romance because knowing the 1st time around didn’t work, and that I’m going to have to experience that crap when I read to escape real life crap...yuck. So when a 2nd time story captures the general essence of the bad shit without word for word, pain by pain, make me suffer and gets me through it quickly so I can enjoy the second fucking time around and all it’s agonizing smoldering sexy time love muffin’ing AwesomeNESS, I say Gurlllllll YES.

It took me awhile to get caught up in the story, but once I did, didn't want to put it down.
I feel like a broken record whenever I say that Bec McMaster does it again, for me. Sure Obsidian's conditioning situation bears so much resemblance in my head with Bucky's (and how Steve is the one who can only come through his memories -- much like Gemma here for Obsidian), but, you know, ROMANTIC and all that ^^.

I LOVED those early moments when Obsidian kidnapped Gemma and it was just the two of them. I always tend to love McMaster's heroines more so than the heroes. Gemma is another one of t

If ever a couple deserved a second chance romance it was Gemma and Dimitri. Poor Dimitri, his story filled my heart with anguish! I love where the overarching plot is leading and I can't believe where the story left off at. So many possibilities! I can't wait to see the COR in action in the next installment!

Gemma and Obsidian have a past as two spies, Hollis and Dmitri, on opposite sides five years ago. They gave into lust and fell in love. However she believed he died in an explosion after he shot her. And he believed she drugged him and set fire to his room trying to kill him. Fast forward to “present day” and dhampir assassin Obsidian cannot understand why he struggles to follow orders to kill Gemma. Obsidian’s obsession with the enemy spy grows until his conditioning cracks and his memories beg ...more

No exaggeration when I say this is my favorite book Bec McMaster has far! Gemma and Obsidian's chemistry was explosive and their story matched this high level of intensity. That twist towards the end literally had me gasping out loud and the little teases for Malloryn's book (unfortunately not the next one) were just enough to leave me coming back for more. McMaster has truly outdone herself on this one and I can't wait to see how this overall story comes to an end (but please don't ...more

I absolutely loved McMaster's latest installment in The Blue Blood Conspiracy series, You Only Love Twice!

In both previous books of the series, I felt like I was missing I had missed a short story somewhere. That is not the case with You Only Love Twice! Even though it has been months since I read anything of this series, I picked up this book and was able to fall right in. The plot was tight and well paced. All the characters were introduced and given enough background info tha

This is a great steampunk/romance series overall and a wonderful entry!

This book focuses on Gemma, a blue blood assassin trained agent of the Company of Rogues, and Obsidian, a man from her past who has been transformed into a dhampir and may not be the man that she knew and loved. They were both spies working on opposite sides the last time they met and it ended very badly for Gemma. She ended up with a bullet in her chest and a transformation into a blue blood that she wasn't planning on. This

I so love the steampunk world Bec McMaster has woven together. From the beginning her style or story telling and character development has been vibrant and captivating.  I love all of the characters we meet in her London Steampunk universe and Gemma and Obsidian are no exception. They met and fell in love years ago, but they have always been on opposite sides of the war. For years she has thought him dead after trying to kill her.  He has hated her and believed she tried to burn him alive, but t ...more

The long awaited next instalment in this fabulously thrilling and complex series. I was actually sad when this one ended, I love this world so much. It can seem a cruel and brutal place but there is always a chance of redemption. Passion and desire go hand in hand with love, friendship and a sense of belonging. I have said before that I am not much into paranormal romance, but these books are so much more than that.

Bec continues to spin the most amazing tales! I love the London Steampunk series and this did not disappoint. Gemma and Obsidian were steaming hot. But more than the smexiness ( and it was smexy) I loved following Obsidian's story. I have a weakness for bad guys heros, which works well for the Company of Rogues. What was so interesting about Obsidian was that there was not really the "apology" moment that most bad guy stories have. Obsidian is an assassin and he stays assassin. It's a little lik ...more

I love Bec McMaster's books! I came to them as a fan of steampunk and she has never disappointed. This is a story of star-crossed livers but it's far more than that. It's a story of who we choose as family. It's about loyalty both to people and ideas. It brings back together so many of my favorite characters as the protect the Queen and London and gives glimpses into the future of our friends in upcoming books.

Really enjoyed this book! I loved Gemma & Obsidian! They definitely deserved their happy ending. The plot is thickening but there was one hell of a cliffhanger at the end! Can't wait for the next book too for Malloryn's book which after reading this book, I'm positive that he will be getting his own book.

Absolutely fantastic! I loved this plot line of an assassin and a spy who fell in love. A lot like a star crossed lovers theme but given a second chance after betrayal by one of them.

Gemma and Obsidian’s romance sizzled off the pages from the moment they encountered each other. I felt like I couldn’t simply get enough. From the moment I started reading I literally felt like I was on the edge of my seat with all the plot twists, gripping action, and steamy romance. Definitely a change of pace fr

Addictive and Amazing Read

Where to begin: I had trouble putting this book down. It has romance, adventure, an amazing cast of characters, and a few unexpected twists that both answered questions and leave me frustrated because the next book doesn't come out until October. Bec McMaster has created another amazing leading lady who is intelligent and interesting. And Obsidian is the rather complex, but admirable, sad backstory bad guy you cannot help but like. If steampunk is your thing, or really
