Tobias Wright is a man who has always gotten everything he’s wanted, including the love of his life Niecey. A chance meeting at one of the lounge bars that he owns, was all it took for him to fall head over heels in love with her. Fast forward two years later, Toby and Niecey are happily engaged and ready to become man and wife. That is, until her ex boyfriend Will pops back up into the picture causing some trust issues between the two. The only man that could possibly cause ShaNiece Taylor to ever doubt her love for Toby is the man who she will always know as her first love; William “Big Will” Davis. Their childhood romance wasn’t an ordinary fairy tale love, but it did come close. The on again, off again relationship was a normal routine for them until Will fathered a child with her twin sister LaNiece. Even with all of the drama centered around that situation, can you fully take your love away from someone, after years of giving it away so freely? When you stop listening to your heart and start to entertain the thoughts in your mind, don’t be surprised if you end up loosing the best thing that has ever happened to you. One night of pleasure can lead to a lifetime of regret, especially if it isn’t the right kind of love.
A serious understatement when I tell y'all Toby love Niecey with an endearing, heartfelt, profoundly powerful I don't even think that explains it. I loved, loved, loved this story. I'll definitely be rereading it. Genesis took it to a whole different level. Toby and his brother Cai are bae til the end, frfr. If you're looking for a real-life believable shyt happens with family, friends and lovers but all comes full circle in the end this book is definitely for you. Love conquers all. The right kind I'm praying for the day to have a 💘 so strong that nothing can penetrate it, no one can duplicate it or come between it other than the two involved by getting in our own way then finally realising that we love each too much to let go. Keep up the fabulous work Genesis this is another winner you had my crying a few times.
I actually wanted to rate the book 3.6 stars but because the decimal system is not allowed, I rounded it up to 4 stars. The main complaint for the book is that even though it's stated that there is an editor, the grammatical errors somewhat belie that. Are there any beta readers? As for the actual story, it's pretty good. Kind of disjointed at times. The book is mainly about Niecey and her life. Toby, our alpha male is somehow relegated to co-star status. Plus he really isn't portrayed as a highly educated wealthy businessman. Overall the book is okay. I would recommend the reading of the Black Love, White Lies series first to really get a feel for this book.
I really enjoyed Niecy and Toby’s story. Through everything they found that forever love. The twist and turns in life that caused them to almost lose each other was next level and will have you rooting for this couple to very end. Ms. Woods definitely brought her “A” game and took the characters to the next level. Toby is definitely book bae material. The surprising ending of some characters kind of threw me and made a sadness come to heart but that when you know the author wrote their ass off. You got Ms. Woods keep it coming and blessing us with these gems.
From the moment I started this book, I felt like I should have read something else first. Nothing indicates this book is a sequel or part of a series. I didn't like that I felt lost.
Neicey and Tobias had so much unnecessary drama. That phrase gets overused so let me explain. From the blurb it's implied that Niecey's ex still wants her. It's very clear in the book. Although she has to have certain interactions with him as her niece's father, she still manages to put herself in situations that aren't a good look. She definitely wouldn't appreciate Tobias being in those situations with another woman. That's just one example of unnecessary drama. A book needs drama, but I also don't want to be calling the characters dumb every other chapter.
I also didn't care for the persiods of summation instead of showing the scene. Why are we getting a summary of something that's pretty important to the story? We got cousin Koi's pov which really wasn't needed for this story, so why the summation? I don't get it.
Any way this book was fine.it wasn't quite a 2 star, so I just rounded to 3.
So I would first recommend for people to read Black Love White Lies first, prior to reading this book as that series introduces Toby and Niecey. Now that's out of the way, I'll explain why I rated this a 4. The storyline was good, but there were several parts that annoyed me. One part is even though I liked the fact that it dived in to Niecey's background, not so much of Toby's was shared. Granted, and again I advise for Black Love White Lies to be read first, there are somethings that we know about Toby but not enough in my opinion. Another thing that annoyed me was how Niecey couldn't see through Will's crap, especially with all of the not-so-subtle comments he was making about trying to get Niecey back. Third and final thing was Will himself, no further comment needed. Other than those, the book was pretty good.

I think Genesis is in my top 10 on the indie romance author list for hot & spicy sex scenes from both the male and female perspective. I also love that she shows the MALE perspective as well - yes, men don't run! Some indie authors represent for the guys as much as for the women. Great storyline, well developed characters both male and female - flaws and all. Characters at the top of their game in their fields from the strippers to the entrepreneurs and a few NFL players thrown into the mix....The author of the BDE (look it up or check my list hahaha) series strikes again! lol Now I have another author whose whole catalog I want to read lolol....
Toby and Niecey's chemistry was what I loved most about this book. The way they were in tune with each other, could read each other and could instantly turn each other on with a word, or a look, or a touch. That was my favorite part. Niecey not being able to see through her ex made me want to yell at her, lol. But I loved how Tobias took control of the situation and went to claim what he knew was his. A dominant man indeed. This didn't read like other IR romances I've read and I loved that. That was nicely done. The supporting cast was interesting.
Omg my emotions was a all time high had me crying and everything. Toby is the guy we women wish to have yes his love for Niecey was breathtaking so strong with passion. Niecey been through so much with her ex Will to now her twin sister baby by the ex omg. But Genesis so happy how it turn out with you having the sister being reconnected and Lala getting herself together. Beautiful touching incredible
Toby & Niecy seemed like they couldn't get it together for the life of me!! I was so thankful Koi was there to help Niecy through this. Genysis aint have no sympathy in this book lol. People were taking Ls left and right. I hope you give a story for Koi and her bae and maybe even Lala and Lil Ray. Oh and that little snippet is fire, I can't wait for that book!!
Niecey was bout to make me come through this Kindle and shake some sense into her. Why she fell for the okey-doke from no good ex Wil? I thought that brotha was certifiable. And it was proven by the books end he was. Toby though, that man remained true to himself and confident in his relationship with Niecey and of her love for him. She finally got some act right and t all worked out.
Toby was bae and the love he had for Niecey was great. I'm so glad that Toby never allowed his mind to over rule his heart especially after Will started his mess. Karma worked for Will and Storm but not in the most pleasant way but I do believe they deserved it. Loved how Koi was able to put things in perspective for Niecey and she listened. Now if we could find out more with Koi and Beano that would be great!!
Toby loves Niecey and never strayed from his feelings for her. It got really intense with Will's manipulation. Even though Will changed his exterior package, his character was still the same. Sadly, he recognized that fact much too late. So glad to get a glimpse of my favs, Cai and Audrielle...they are still going strong.
This book was everything from beginning to end drama action intense couples up and down suspense puzzle revelation revealed well written every page intense happy all couples found love and sisters work Thur their differences well written enjoy the story know there someone out there for you!
I enjoyed reading about Toby and Niecey. I like their story even though Niecey was getting on my nerves at times. Enjoyed the overall story and the bond and relationships that were formed. Love to see past characters also. It's like a family reunion. Good job. Looking forward to your next books.
This book was absolutely worth the wait! Toby and Niecey's was so good and juicy. You have love, anger, sex, lies and anger all rolled into one book. If you haven't read any of Genesis's books, definitely this one is a keeper. Start with What Bae Won't do up till the series Black Love White Lies!! Can't wait for the next book by this phenomenal author!!!👏☺
I normally don't read BWWM NOVELS. BUT I Glad I did. Toby wow was sexy good man. Niecey almost naded mevstop reading this book. Will was doing everything to get Niecey. Lines should have been drawn and people should be respectful of someone relationship. A good read Genesis Woods
Books have a way to show you the right way you need and deserved to be loved. This is probably how the term Book Bae was coined. Either way I highly recommend this book if you looking for a reason to believe again. I rather not spoil it. You never know until you try.
I date outside my race but I typically stay away from white guys . . . Especially with the time you never know what could happen . . . However, Toby can get it!! He is the type of guy I would make exceptions for! This story had so much in it. My emotions were all over the place. I was an excellent story and I enjoyed it immensely.
Aww this was a great love story. I loved the way Toby loved Niecey.. That part when he addressed her about Will though.. Whew!! They over came the storm.. That twin was something else though.. Great standalone..
Omg I loved this story. Toby was everything. I loved the fact that both he and Niecy knew their relationship was solid no matter what happened. Nothing could break them. That ending was so perfect, too. ❤💜
I absolutely loved this read. It had my emotions all over place. Niecy just wanted to love her man without all of the interceptions Will was throwing in there. I love Toby just as much as Cai. Lol!! Great job Genesis Woods.
What a beautiful love! I could feel the genuine love that Tobias and ShaNiece have for each other flow right from the pages. Despite the betrayal and deceit that can be overwhelming, Niecey fought through the pain to get her king.
