Euan Sinclair is a gifted professional who is given a target to seek out. When his emotions intertwine with his assignment, he finds himself torn between getting the job done and exploring passion instead. As Euan and Elsie grow closer together, the lines between right and wrong blur. Both seek the truth, and when the web of lies begins to unravel, it will take everything they have to succeed.
"Give in to it. Let us make you feel."Told in dual POV, Weapon offers a unique plot with intricate relationships. The camaraderie between the weapons in Three Blades was inspiring, and heart felt. Elsie is strong physically, and when her emotions begin to develop for Euan everything she has ever known becomes "unknown" and new! Euan is a strong hero who isn't afraid to get what he wants, and he wants Elsie. The action is intense and drives the plot as every moment unfolds. Girls rule the world in Three Blades, and as they battle their adversaries, explore their sexuality, and learn to love, I could not tear my eyes away.
Overall, D.H. Sidebottom offers a blockbuster worthy creation with a strong female heroine and a complex plot. This was my first read by this author, and I will certainly be exploring more of her work. With action, suspense, and plenty of steam, Weapon offer an erotic thriller that you do not want to miss. I am certainly looking forward to the next book in the Three Blades Series.

Elsie Grey was a deadly Weapon. As the best assassin of the Three Blades organizations, she was trained to be ruthless and heartless. But as her life started to unravel, she would have to learn to deal with her emotions that have long been suppressed.
Euan Sinclair had a job to do and he was good at it. However, his latest target proved to be a lot more complicated than what he signed up for.
I enjoy reading about kickass characters, but most that I read featured male lead. With a female lead on this one, it made for a more interesting reading.
Elsie's job demanded her heart to be full of ice because it could be a difference between life and death. When faced with unfamiliar emotions, she had difficulty deciding whether to listen to her head or heart. I like seeing her struggled with it.
Euan started as an intriguing, mysterious character. After that he was pretty easy to read. I like how his compassion balanced out her personality.
I like the story and enjoy all the actions, but it was pretty straightforward. And I like Elsie and Euan individually better than together because while I don't have problem with insta lust, the insta love seemed a little out of place considering their situation.
Weapon is a fast pace, high action story of a woman coping with the turnaround in her life. I'm looking forward to see what next book would bring.

I hope there will be more "Ebony scenes" in next book lol!

As a young girl, Elsie Grey showed promise and was drafted to the infamous Three Blades. For ten years she was groomed and trained to be a Weapon. Now, at 28 and with her newest assignment, Elsie begins to uncover more than she could have imagined as it leads right to her past and a place where she’s kept locked away.
“It’s all I know. Just because something isn’t right, doesn’t mean it’s not what we need.”
Euan Sinclair has a role that allows him to see multiple perspectives. Using his position, he gets close to the intended target which complicates his job but he isn’t afraid to take a risk professionally or personally. But cracking Elsie’s defenses may prove to be the hardest task he’s experienced.
“His touch always softened something inside me, warmed the ice that I had constructed to help me survive. And giving in to that would prove fatal.”
Being a Weapon, Elsie learned to keep her emotions in check, knowing her family is within the organization, she mustn’t have any other distractions. However, she soon discovers layers of complex deceit that makes Elsie question those she trusts. Since that is a short list, getting answers leads to more questions.
“Not everyone in this world is scared by violence and lies, Elsie. The truth is often received with hostility.”
From the beginning, a tone is set establishing a camaraderie among members of Three Blades with Elsie being the most lethal. The sense of looming danger and risk is ever present but Elsie doesn’t let it bring her down as she knows how to thrive in it. Seeing humor in dark situations is one of Elsie’s defense mechanisms which adds to her appeal.
“Oh, it would only take me one shot to kill you, but where’s the fun in that?”
As the pacing incrementally escalates and mirrors the plot points, the level of greed and power that’s exposed forces Elsie to confront her emotions. Knowing what must be done doesn’t make her decision any easier but Elsie isn’t about to let anyone suffer for her.
Elsie is an interesting character. I admired her loyalty to those she deemed to be family and revered her ability to kick ass at a moment’s notice. Considering the past, her reluctance to open her heart was understandable but again Elsie proves she can overcome. To balance Elsie, Euan’s adds warmth and the possibility of an entirely new dimension for Elsie to experience. Aside from Elsie, Frank was my favorite character.
In Weapon, DH Sidebottom successfully crafts an adrenaline charged plot steeped in greed, deceit, friendship and sacrifice. For those who like action with romance this will not disappoint.

At the very young age of eight, Elsie Grey saw her father getting killed and her life changed forever.
The night her father was murdered, Elsie is left alone in the world but Frank Reynolds takes her under his wing and thus begins her training to become one of the Weapons, highly trained assassins for the infamous Three Blades organization.
Elsie, 27 years old is now the toughest Weapon of Three Blades and Frank brought her a new girl to be trained. Sally is 13 years and Elsie feels a certain pull towards the girl, but keeps with her training until her world shatters around her.
Euan Sinclair is hired to find Elsie. Her grandfather is looking for her and her sister. By sheer accident Euan runs into Elsie one night and forces her to come with him to meet his client.
When things surprisingly get out of hand Elsie, with the help of her three Weapons Sisters and Euan, they are force to go on the run and seek the truth.
In the midst of their quest to find the truth and the puppet master, Elsie & Euan grow closer together and things between them develop gradually.
When truths are revealed resulting in broken hearts and utter betrayal, Elsie takes matter in her own hands and finishes the jobs.
Weapon is told in dual POVs alternating between Elsie and Euan. It is fast paced and will keep you on the edge of your seat read. The author has done a great job throwing the reader off tracked managing to keep the plot thrilling and surprising. I highly recommend reading Weapon.
I loved the dynamic between the Sisters and their banter was hilarious ”We’re all as fucked as warm farts.”.

Weapon can be read as a standalone but there is the promise a of more coming after it.
It's Elsie ' s story, an assasin working for the Three Blades organisation. We follow her as she her past resurfaces and collide with her day to day life.
She has no family, or so she thought, except for her sisters, the other weapons of the Three Blades.
A dark, twisted plot, a badass killer, a cocktail of violence, betrayal, hot scenes, what's not to love, right? RIGHT.... except for the lack of connection I felt with the characters and the situations. In honest review, there is HONEST, so here is go...
I hate, really hate when this happens. I usually love D.H Sidebottom 's stories, the sinopsis intrigued me, and that cover is amazing. So, what went wrong? Clearly I'm in the minority here, but I kept thinking that Elsie ' s actions didn't fit her character and the way she was meant to feel. Or not feel for that matter. The thing is .
“I thought Weapons were nurtured to be the best.”“Oh, we’re trained to be the best,” I divulged. “But we’re definitely not nurtured. Not in any way.”
Besides, I found Elsie very trusting and in spite of her obvious killing talents, she was caught of guard several times, which had me disconnecting with this book even more...
Euan remains a mystery to me, I didn't care much for him. His relationship with Elsie, felt a tad rushed. The good suprise, though was a torrid scene .
"I had a choice to make. Hope or purpose. Constancy or unpredictability. Coldness or warmth."
So of course, even with a rather interesting storyline and intriguing characters and I had a hard time concentrating on it and letting go of the issues I had to fully appreciate it.
I can't wait to read your future reviews about this one, I'm sure many of you are going to enjoy Weapon!

3.5 stars....This was not exactly what I was expecting but I liked it!
I love reading stories with a bad-ass female and there were 4 which I loved!
This group of women were raised to be deadly weapons, merciless assassins and Elsie Grey was the best of the best. She was ruthless and tough, heartless and cold. That is until one job changed everything!
And that job was Euan Sinclair! This man became more than just a job. Somehow he made her feel, he started to warm her cold heart and make her want things she never thought she could have. Euan also helped her find the truth behind the lies and deceit that made her who she is. She was now faced with who to believe and who to trust!
Elsie was and interesting and complex character but I gotta say I am hoping for more Ebony in the future!

Weapon by DH Sidebottom

Another mind blowing hit by DH Sidebottom, which I'm not surprised about, because she's the epitome of awesome! Bringing amazing characters and spectacular storylines to life, it's always a rush getting to jump into her mind for a bit.
If you've ever had the pleasure of meeting the iconic Frank, you will understand when I say, he finally gets his just deserts, and boy does he ever!
The Three Blades Assassins was a life Elsie never expected, but it's all she's known since her youth, and nothing else. It's brought tragedy and destruction to her door, but being the "ultimate weapon", she's become quite frankly, indestructible.
Her heart, mind, and soul have been through hell and back, and she saw no light at the end of the tunnel until the day she meets Euan. He brings her spirit to life, and I love him for it! Like always, trouble is brewing, but they make a fantastic duo, and have the ability to finally conquer her demons.
Epicness lies ahead, and I can't wait to see what happens next! It's bound to blow us out of the water, and keep us wanting more from the fabulous DH Sidebottom. Bravo!

D H is back with a bang.
This book is so good I just loved everything about it.
I do love a kickass female and that is what you get Elsie is such an amazing character she is the ultimate weapon. she was brought up to be that she was trained by the best to be the best. she is such a loyal person to her sisters, such a great story that will have you turning the pages. the Twists and turns are so good in this book too I didn't see them coming.

I've only read one previous book by this author which I absolutely loved. So of course I knew I had to read this and I definitely wasn't disappointed. This was oh so good.
Elsie is a badass. She is the best weapon that the Three Blades have. She is the best of the best. Everything she knows and believes changes when she meets Euan.
I'm not gonna say anymore about the storyline. The story captivated me from start to finish and kept me on the edge of my seat. When I finished reading I mentally gave the author a high five as this is such a great read.
From start to finish this is a gripping read that kept me up into the wee hours of the morning.
Am looking forward to reading more of the Three Blades series.

I was thrilled when I heard that DH Sidebottom had decided not to hang up her hat quite yet. Of course this meant that I was ready to dive straight in as soon as I received Weapon.
Elsie's story takes you on a journey that has twists, turns and surprises that jump out at you from darkened corners. The dangerous world that Elsie exists in is treacherous but expected.
However, when those dangers come from somewhere unexpected, Elsie finds the ice thawing, despite its necessity. Euan is not what he seems and despite his best intensions, things simply aren't that straightforward.
If you're familiar with DH Sidebottom's work, you'll know to expect tension and darkness entwined to create a tale that has you aching to get to the end with bated breath. It's tricky to say much more about this book without giving something away. I will tell you though, that it you'll be as eager as I am to get your hands on book #2!

Sidebottom came back all ninja like.
Action packed, suspenseful, twisted, and erotic. check check check check! I LOVE a strong heroine! Elsie is an assassin for Three Blades, adopted into the secret killer association at a very young age. Up against unknown threats and truths that may kill her.
The plot plays out like a well-thought out mini-series on TV. The twists are like snakes in the grass, I equally loved and loathed the bite. The hissing was the warning of something terrible to come. I wanted more background information on The Three Blades, I'm hoping that's to come full circle in future books. I also felt like the story was rushed in some instances. But overall it was kickassery and I loved the savagery that leaked from the pages. Bloodlust and eroticism, perfect combination for my DARK heart.

Eight year old Elsie's world forever changed when her dad is killed though anything was better than the life she had up until then.
Now the premier Weapon assassin for Three Blades , the agency has become her family with her only loyalty being for her sister Blades. Those who don't know her may question if a cold hearted emotionless killer such as Elsie has the ability to love or have a conscious, and Elsie may agree, but to survive she's had to take on the "kill or be killed" mentality that has worked for her so far.
A new apprentice and contract will challenge Elsie's true skills and loyalty when it's found out her past, present, and future may have been manipulated by outside forces who have a master plan for her and her family.

New to me author that's been recommended to me in the past. This dark themed antihero read blurb was interesting enough to grab and read.
I totally appreciated the overall concept of this story and the interaction between the main and secondary characters. The main take away for me is that the author has a devious mind with an uncanny ability to provide twists, turns, and blind sides for the reader. That means this is the sort of book that will appeal to the literary Sherlock Holmes reader who enjoys a James Bond story line.
My personal feeling is that while I enjoyed the overall story and adult content romance, the individual scenes were choppy and disjointed. Additionally, I would have appreciated more depth to the world building and more fleshing out of the scenes themselves as it was too superficial to work in a meaningful way. I will tongue in cheek say that I got whiplash from the ever changing scene cuts and twist & turns going on in this story.
I'm neutral on recommending this to others. It is a featured Kindle Unlimited listing so those who subscribe to that service should check it out if suspense/thrillers/antihero stories are your thing but for others it's a matter of personal taste and preference.

I sure have missed reading the works of D.H. Sidebottom! Boy, did she come back with a BANG!!!
Nothing better than an awesome female lead character! Elsie fits this roll to a T. Taken at a young age, she has been trained to be a Three Blade Assassin. The best of the best, Elsie has taken her training and perfected each and every step.
Euan is a tracker, attorney and a computer guru. He was hired to find Elsie and return her to her Grandfather.
Just when you think you have it figured out though…. The twist happens.
Great page turner! Can’t wait to read the next in the series!

I sure have missed reading the works of D.H. Sidebottom! Boy, did she come back with a BANG!!!
Nothing better than an awesome female lead character! Elsie fits this roll to a T. Taken at a young age, she has been trained to be a Three Blade Assassin. The best of the best, Elsie has taken her training and perfected each and every step.
Euan is a tracker, attorney and a computer guru. He was hired to find Elsie and return her to her Grandfather.
Just when you think you have it figured out though…. The twist happens.
Great page turner! Can’t wait to read the next in the series!

I love Sidebottom! You can pretty much always expect a unique story!
Weapon is a great story! It definitely has every ingredient of an "involved" story. One minute it's tears, the next is anger, disbelief, frustration, and let's not get on the subject of suspense! When ya think you have one thing figured out and assume you have the scene or story figured out, someone or some even comes along and slaps the tarnation out of your theory! This story is definitely an on the edge of your seat, nail biting, suspenseful read!
The only issue I had with the story is the ménage scene. The continuing reference to two of the three participants throughout the rest of the story drove me crazy! However the final paragraph definitely redeemed the story a bit! Wow! WtF dude???

Dawn is back with a spectacular story that keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. Action packed, full of suspense with some epic nail biting twists, Dawn never disappoints with her books and this one is classic D H Sidebottom at her very best.
Elsie was taken from her family when she was very young into the home of Frank where she is trained to be A Three Blade Assassin. Indestructible, sassy and confident she and the other girls who live there are trained to perfection to be the best of the best. Elsie is his ultimate weapon, his special girl; but at what sacrifice for Elsie. Her life is full of destruction, sadness, loss but she knows her place and that is at Franks disposal at all times.
When she meets Euan he makes her see and feel things she has never experienced before. He brings a "light" to her life and she is drawn towards him like a moth to a flame. But what problems will this bring about, what journey will they take you on ?
Both characters were wonderful to read about, secondary characters played a significant part to this story which added to the excitement and anticipation that I found myself experiencing.
I read this book straight through - I literally didn't want it to end. Dawn has the knack of bringing all her characters to life, she takes us on a remarkable ride of emotions, nail biting moments where I held my breathe as I turned each page with baited breathe.
This is book one in the Three Blades series and I cannot wait for book two to see where these amazing characters take us next time.

Woah, DH Sidebottom is most certainly back with a fantastic story. I couldn’t put it down, i was gripped right from the prologue and finished it in one sitting. Action packed, full of twists, turns and plenty of suspense, this book will have you on the edge of your seat.
One of the things I love about Dawn’s books is her strong, kickass female leads and Elsie Grey was certainly this thats for sure!! Taken at 8 years old and watching her father die in front of her, she grows up training to be a killer, the best assassin for the Three Blades. Things aren’t always what they seem and when Elsie is contracted to terminate Euan Sinclair - tracker, attorney & hacker, things really start to kick off.
Its really hard not to give too much of this story away as it needs to be read to be appreciated fully. Be prepared to bite down those nails and be glued to your kindle when you pick this book up because i can guarantee you won’t want it to end.

Dawn is back yes she's back with a huge bang.
What a totally unique one of a kind story that right from the start pulls you in and doesn't let go and even when it was over your still feeling the story in your bones.
I love that the author isn't afraid to think out the box with her characters. Elsie is a very strong young woman living a life that would send many crazy. From a young age she's been trained to be one thing a killer she is quite literally a weapon.
Surprises and twists are woven seamlessly into an intricate story. Questions are answered mysteries solved but I know more is to come from the assassins and I can't wait.

Packed with the usual action and entertainment that the author gives her readers, it was very hard to put down, so reading it all at once was easy, although I feel a little depressed now the book is finished.

Dark,edgy, suspenseful and sinfully delicious!!
I love a story with strong badass female heroines, and Elsie checked all the boxes. Murder, mystery and mayhem is all Elsie knows
Taken as a child to become part of an elite secret assassin organization, she made some discoveries about herself and her organization that changed the course of her life as she k ew it. She went from completing contracts, to becoming the contract.
Has her fate been sealed?
Can Euan really save her?
Fast paced, although at times a little rushed, I couldn't get enough of these characters, the exiting plot, the mysteries and secrets.
Then...just when I thought the story was heading in one direction BOOM...a totally unexpected twist!
Well done!!
I cannot wait to read more!!

Wow! This was an edge of your seat read!
Elsie Grey had to grow up quickly. Taken at 8 yrs old after she watches her father murdered. Elsie becomes a skilled killer growing up with Three Blades, an assassin group that took her in however sometimes your new family isn't always all that they seem. Ordered to do a hit on a Euan Sinclair, Elsie starts to piece together lies and deception that have been told to her. Will she uncover the truth before it's to late?
Euan Sinclair (attorney, hacker & tracker is contracted to find Elsie but when he finds her things aren't at all what he was lead to believe.
Dual POV, mystery/thriller/suspense as only DH Sidebottom can write!

this author is one of my go to authors. I love her writing style and found her books to be great reads. I liked this story. I liked Elsie and Euan. I like that if I want to just read this book I can or I can continue to read more in this series. I will continue to read more in this series. I want to know more about Elsie's family. Mother, grandfather etc.

Boy is she back !!!!!
DH Sidebottom is back and definitely back in style. In true Sidebottom form she has produced hard,sassy, kickass main female leads which is what Dawn does best.
I loved the bond between all the characters in this book the banter back and forth is so funny at times,then heart wrenching at others.
The ups and downs are non stop and there are plenty of moments where I was left with my mouth wide open begging for more.
An amazing 5 * read to come back with and I can't wait to see where book two leads us.

I liked the story alot.
Elise was a really strong character, i loved her banter with her friends and Euan.
I didn't find it as romantic as the others but its very focused on Elise and Three Blades. I still enjoyed it though.
Euan was a mystery, times i thought i had him sussed out and then he'd do something to surprise me.
I can't wait to read more of this series though!

Elsie has a difficult start in life, her mother leaves her at age 4 and her father is killed when she is 8.
“ After each of the three men drove a blade through my daddy’s heart, the tallest of the men took my tiny, trembling hand, and he answered each of my unspoken questions…. “It’s okay now, little one. You’ll never be alone again. It’s time,” he said softly as he took a step forward, the very first step in my new life. “It’s time to be the strong girl I know you are. It’s time to have a family.”
And this is how Elsie is going to live with Frank and becomes the best soldier in his organization.
“So, you’re one of the famous Weapons?” I smirked when I watched wonder and admiration flicker in his eyes, the nickname for the Three Blades’ assassins known worldwide.
Her new goal is Euan Sinclair, but when Euan approaches her, he tells her that he has been hired by her grandfather (Peter O’Keefe was a multi-billionaire. PO Enterprises consisted of various businesses, from chains of restaurants and shopping centres, to airlines and music companies. It had been implied though that all these companies were just a front for Peter’s more darker trades. The Intel Three Blades received about Peter O’Keefe specified that as well as worldwide heroin distributions he was also selling child sex slaves),to look for her and her little sister.
And so begins the adventure for Elsie where she must fight against friends and enemies to be able to protect the people she loves.
“Against everything, I had fallen in love with a man. It was forbidden. It was a contract on myself, my own assassination. I was dead now. Frank would never allow me to live if I couldn’t carry out my duties with perfection and a clear head. “I fell in love with you, Euan Sinclair,” I whispered through the devastation clogging my throat. “You were the home my soul needed to keep warm. I had an assignment to kill you.” I turned, unable to look at him any longer. “I should have upheld my duty.”
“I love you, Elsie. I won’t let anyone destroy your soul; it’s too precious.”
“I wasn’t just fighting for my life, I was also fighting for my Sisters’ lives. They deserved to be free and if their freedom cost me my life, then at least I could rest easy knowing one death had been worth something.”
I look forward to reading the second book in this series.

A vortex of emotion this story has left me desperate for more, clever author I see what what you did there ;) Weapon was a dark and uncompromising story of children who have already survived so much,given a chance to become the ultimate weapon for hire, honed in a secret training facility to become part of the Three Blades. They are partly myth and legend in the underworld as they leave no signs aside from dead bodies. She is the epitome of an assassin, her lack of emotion revered and admired by those under her tutelage. Yet her last job stirs something new inside her and makes her realise that she has a decision to make. Half truths, power plays and machinations of greedy men put her in an untenable position. Will she choose family, loyalty and death over love?
Wow this story is the start of a series and her nightmares and hints at everything she has endured made me want more. She is an amazing alpha female that has been manipulated by the most important people in her life yet she has overcome and surpassed all expectation. She reminded me a lot of Uma Thurman in Kill Bill, thirsty for the blood of all those that oppose her. She's magnificently fierce and yet has such tenderness underneath her hard shell. The man that steals her heart is also quite tough and sassy but doesn't hold a candle to her in terms of outright wholehearted fearlessness - just wait till you read about her with her samurai sword! Together they make an amazing pairing and he ignites a burn within her she doesn't want to extinguish. The sisterhood is an amazing bond and the relationships between them intriguing. I loved the dark humour and wit teamed with the macabre and the somber pain filled torment of her past. I can't believe how it ended...have I mentioned I want more now now now!
Non stop action packed five star read.

Dark, twisted and not what I was expecting.
I’m a huge fan of this author and have read most of her books so I was very happy to see she was releasing this and I couldn’t wait to read it.
Elsie Grey is a weapon; a trained assassin for an organisation called Three Blades. She was orphaned at aged 8 when she witnessed her father’s murder and since that night, she’s been raised and trained by Frank who provided her with an alternative family.
Elsie and her friends are well renowned for their skills and she is the best so when Elsie’s latest target walks into the bar she’s in, will it make her job easy or is there more to him than she bargained for?
Euan Sinclair has been given the job of locating the granddaughter of a notorious criminal and to get paid, he has to deliver her personally. When he sees his target outside a bar, he can’t believe his luck but unfortunately, life is never that simple and meeting his target is the catalyst for Euan’s life changing forever.
When Elsie and Euan are forced to work together, neither of them expected to be overcome with such strong feelings for the other but in the fight for their lives and freedom, love is the last thing they can afford to get mixed up in if they want to survive.
I really enjoyed this story. Elsie is a strong female lead and Euan is the perfect amount of danger and hotness. This is the first book in a series so there is a cliffhanger but just like in previous books this author has written, I’m sure it will be worth waiting for and I recommend this story.
