Nope. I dont like this book. This is my first book from these authors. The blurp is promising something steamy and mysterious. Boy I love steamy and mysterious combines. But while listening to the audio book,, I did not find steamy nor mysterious. I found boring, dry and 1 dimensional story.

The story lacks of layer, twist and character development. The sizzling chemistry between Kai and Alex was there at the beginning when they first met at the Society X. But sizzle so fast like it was doused by cold water. The story falls flat. There are some places where some conflict is introduced but resolves very fast without any twist or climax. So much for mystery.

The steamy aspect is almost none existence. I am left disappointed. Good thing the audio book is short.

The blurb did not really fit in with the book. It was pretty much fine. Kinda breezes through it.

My favorite writing duo did it again with Play Room!

I read this cover-to-cover in one sitting. I couldn't put it down. Sexy, playful, and downright naughty, this is hot! I'd recommend reading in private unless you can control your shade of blush.

Play Room (Society X #3) by LP Dover and Heidi McLaughlin
4 stars!!!

“Losing my virginity to someone I don’t know isn’t something to be proud of, but I wouldn’t trade the experience for anything else.”

Play Room was very different to the other books in this series, for me, this still had that feeling of the forbidden and erotic but this book had heart and emotion. Two people that had no place even being in Society X, two people that did not belong there and yet that was the place that found them the one thing they desperately wanted. Play Room was just as addictive as its predecessors, I fell in love with these two characters and you cannot help but champion these two along. Sometimes fate works in mysterious ways and it seems fate wasn’t letting these two escape its clutches.

Alex was as inexperienced as they came, sheltered upbringing and then studies and work consuming her ever since. Alex’s virginity was one thing that she was desperate to get rid of, she had given up on finding the right person and when a friend tells her about Society X she finally feels that she has a way of experiencing something she desperately wants…anonymously and with someone who knew what they were doing.

“I like how I feel when I’m around you. I can’t explain it…even when I kiss you, it just feels right.”

Kai was adorable with a capital A. He was the new man in town and his past is a tale of relationships and work never mixing. Kai was a workaholic, brilliant at what he does and takes his job incredibly seriously, he made a difference. Never short for getting an itch scratched he finds it harder in the new town he calls home. When one of his co-workers introduces him to Society X, he fills out the forms to escape, little did he know that one phone call because of those forms would change his life as he knew it.

I loved the interactions between these two, from the get go you could just feel within the actions and the sparse dialogue that this was not just a random one-night as either anticipated. Innocence and experience, complete opposites and yet we all know that opposites attract. The room and rules limiting the dialogue and yet these two told each other everything with their bodies. When fantasy and reality meet though all gloves are off and the sparks definitely fly.

“Marry me…I know I’m supposed to wait for you to ask, but that rule is dumb, I asked your mom_”

This series has been addictive, each book has delivered something different and this one was another great one to add. Kai and Alex will have you swooning in no time whereas the scenes in the room between these two will have you swooning for a totally different reason. The perfect blend of erotica and romance, I loved this one.

After reading and loving the previous book from the "Society X" series, I was eagerly awaiting for this one to land on my kindle and as soon as it did, I dived right in. I had high hopes for another fabulous read and I'm so happy that my expectations were met. L.P Dover & Heidi McLaughlin have delivered a brilliant addition to this smokin' hot series. "Play Room" contained the perfect balance of heat and heart. It was filled to the brim with steamy sex scenes and dreamy romance that made my heart skip-a-beat.

"I have her in my arms and there isn't any other place I'd rather be."

The story of Alex and Kai began at Society X, an exclusive adults only club that is jam packed with kinky things to do. You can imagine how red hot the scenes were from this club...my kindle was on fire!! I loved how Alex and Kai's relationship started out and I was excited to see the development of their story. It was impossible for me to predict how it would play out and move away from the club, but I couldn't wait to find out. Although, I was feeling a little apprehensive about things going wrong for the pair as I truly didn't want anything to stand in the way for Alex and Kai. They made such a great couple.

"Let's skip dinner, You can eat me instead."

I easily became invested in Alex and Kai. They were both such likeable characters. Alex was so sweet and lovely and deserved a gorgeous man in her life and Kai fitted that part extremely well. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about him whatsoever. I loved everything about Kai, the way that he treated Alex made my heart melt. I adored how quickly he fell for her and he made me swoon over and over again. Girls, you are going to love this man!!

"I believe I'm falling in love with you, Alex.
All I ever think about is you and of the next moment
we're going to be together."

"Play Room" really was a fantastic read. It was so good that I often found it difficult to put my kindle down, even when I knew that I should be going to sleep, I still continued to read. I'm not sure if this is the last book from the "Society X" series, but I would happily read more. If you are looking for a series that is the perfect combination of sex and romance, this one is well worth the read, however each book can also be read as a standalone, so no need to worry if you've missed books one and two.

The rules of Society X are simple . . . break them and you're out.

Rule #3 - Everything is to remain strictly anonymous.
It doesn't matter if you want to tell, it's forbidden.
Whatever your desire.
Whatever your fetish.
The play room is my favorite. We meet Kia Robicheau and Alex Miller. He's new in town and she's lived in the ares her whole life. They each go to Society X for different reasons. Him because his co worker shows him the place and even though it's REALLY not his thing he is a bit intrigued. Her because she wants to let loose..
And they each get what they want out of the place.. Are they happy with what they did? I will never say. But I will say that out of the 3 books this is my favorite

2.5 stars?

Since I read 2 previous books in this series, I also did this one.
Not quite my coppa - she was a twenty-five-year-old virgin. 25 and still a virgin!
I guess it happens in life, but I'm not fond of my heroines being so old virgins...
The hero was sweet. It was safe.
Overall ok.

Play Room is the 3rd book in Society X Series but, can be read as a standalone. And, since this is my 1st book in this series I am doing just that. Play Room has been on my kindle for a little while as an ARC but, I have had other book obligations before I could get to Play Room. I am thankful that I finally got to read this book.

Society X is a club in Portland! I always love when books are in settings where I have lived or at least close by. Society X is a Strip Club with other benefits. I love the Rules. Here they are again just in case you have forgotten.

The rules of Society X are simple . . . break them and you're out.
Rule #1 - No names
It doesn't matter if you want to know, it's forbidden.
Rule #2 - No exchanging numbers
It doesn't matter if you want to call, it's forbidden.
Rule #3 - Everything is to remain strictly anonymous.
It doesn't matter if you want to tell, it's forbidden.
Whatever your desire.
Whatever your fetish.

So, don’t break any rules. This is Alexandria Miller and Kai Robicheau’s story. Alexandria is inexperienced but, ready for some experience and Kai feels like the club makes him come into his own being.

I don’t want to give any spoilers but, let me just say. I am not sure Kai has the right to react the way he did. He was in the same place at the same time as Alex was. (doesn’t it make you want to read this book to find out what I am talking about).

I enjoyed reading Play Room, now I need to go back and read books 1 & 2. Not because the book can’t standalone but, because I would like to read them.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. I give Play Room 4 stars.

I loved this book! A lot! Better than Parker and Mia's story.
I found the story interesting and it was able to maintain my curiosity up to the very end (unlike Book No. 1). I read this one in gulp.
It was short.
It was sweet.
It was satisfying.
It was refreshing.
I simply adored the H and h immensely.
Kai was hot and successful and caring. I could imagine falling in love with him in real life (if he were ever real hahahah).
Alex was beautiful and talented and a .
They both met (where else?) at Society X. They had instant sexual connection.
On the other side of the coin, the couple met each other at a party where Alex was on catering duty and were instantly attracted to each other. However, they both felt like there were 'cheating' on their mystery man / woman at Society X hence they tried to keep their interest in each other to a minimal ... placating it so they both could take it easy.
It was enjoyable watching the couple's relationship slowly growing. Until an unfortunate incident happened ...

I really enjoyed reading this installment. The only reason I docked a star was because I couldn't feel the deep connection between the couple in their 'real life' relationship. Their 'I love yous' were also a bit forced, I felt like. However, other than that, loved this one. Bravo!

Play Room is the third book in the Society X series. This can be read as a standalone.

The Society X is a sex club where anonymity is the number one rule.

I loved Play Room! I was intrigued at the fact that once you enter the play room you are blind to all things. There is no talking, you can't see your partner, and there is no outside interactions allowed. If you break these rules you are out. This series plot is epic and pure genius.

Being the preacher's daughter and growing up in a strict household, Alexandria always kept on the straight and narrow path. That meaning she never had time to open up and succumb to her fantasy's no matter how vanilla they may be. She never though that losing her virginity would be this difficult, so she does the only thing she can think of. She goes to Society X.

Kai is a business man working on getting a dated town up and running again. He learns of Society X when a friend takes him there for 'lunch'. He can't get the images out of his head. The club scares the hell out of him but then again he finds it intriguing. When he returns, something he swore he'd never do, he never thought one trip would lead to another and followed by another.

I loved the character interactions. Kai is a sweetheart and Alexandria is an innocent that wants to live her life and take part in the passion that is hidden deep within.

I will definitely be picking up the first two books in the Society X series!

I would like to thank the authors L.P. Dover and Heidi McLaughlin for gifting me this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

OH MY HECK!!! Steamy!!! This is the third book in the Society X series but it can be read as a standalone so reading the other two is not a must. Except they were really good too so it would be worth it to pick them up.

I don’t usually read the steamier romance novels but I have really enjoyed this series and I was pretty excited that I was chosen for this ARC. It’s a pretty awesome series with characters that you actually like and who you root for to be together. I was pretty drawn to both of these main characters and could relate to them on an emotional level. Alex and Kai have amazing chemistry and hit it off pretty quick once they met. In Society X, anonymity is the number one rule and a place where you can live out your fantasies and desires. Alex goes because she wants to explore things she has never experienced before and Kai is pretty much forced into going by a co worker. He’s new to town and feeling lonely and that drives him back to the club. I love their instant connection both in the Play Room and in “real life”.

Great read and I hope these authors’ pair up again. This is an easy read that draws you in and makes you want more. Recommended for those who like fun, steamy romances.

The story has laughs, suspense, steam, and secrets.

If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first
Dark Room (Society X #1)
Viewing Room (Society X #2)

This is Alexandria and Kai’s story. Alexandria needs a place to express herself and embrace her hidden passions. Her everyday life does not allow that as she is the preacher’s daughter. Kai likes the club as he can be himself with no boundaries. The club has rules you must follow or you are out. Will these two follow those rules? As they meet outside the club and form a bond will they leave the club or will both relationships start to crumble under the pressure of real life verse the club life?

You get to see in this book more of the club and why some of the players are there. You meet regulars at the club and learn a little of their stories.

I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book.

Play Room is the 3rd room I have "visited" at Society X, but it can be read as a standalone!!

Kai and Alex are both at Society X not knowing why they are even there, but they find themselves needing to go back. I loved how they were drawn to each other. My kindle was almost burning my hands while I was reading it.

What will happen when rules are broken and anonymity is on the line.
Go "play" and find out. Like me, you will want your own membership!

This is book 3 of the series but if you haven't read the first 2 books you won't be lost since this book is about a new couple. I loved how this book started and ended hot and how it wasn't all about the sex but real feelings being developed and a relationship blooming from it all. Another hit by these 2 authors who have written some of my favorites. Here is another added to that list.

•••••••••••

REVIEW: 3.75 stars--- PLAY ROOM is the third installment in the contemporary, adult SOCIETY X erotic, romance series co-authored by Heidi McLaughlin and LP Dover. This is real estate developer Kai Robicheau, and twenty five year old preacher’s daughter/ caterer Alexandria Miller’s story line. Society X is an exclusive sex club where membership has its’ privileges and sometimes the cost is too high. PLAY ROOM can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Kai and Alexandria) PLAY ROOM follows the building relationship between real estate developer Kai Robicheau, and caterer Alexandria Miller. Alex is a twenty five year old virgin with very little sexual experience. When a friend suggests a membership at the exclusive Portland sex club Society X Alex is reluctant to join. But a quick tour, and the enticement of anonymous sexual pleasure has our heroine considering her options for the future. Enter real estate developer Kai Robicheau, a man looking for no-strings attached sexual rendezvous as his time in Portland is limited to the expiry date on his current job. What ensues are the nameless and faceless sexual encounters between Kai and Alexandria; and the building relationship between our leading couple that begins to crumble with the discovery of their mutual Society X clandestine meetings.

The relationship between Kai and Alexandria begins as an anonymous affair: the nameless, faceless meetings at Society X find our couple, individually hoping for something more but something that is never going to happen as per the rules of the exclusive Society X. Meeting one another at a local function finds Alex and Kai pushing aside their evening rendezvous, neither one knowing, the other is their anonymous sexual fling.

There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including the local Sweet Briar mayor, Pastor Larry, Kai co-workers on the real estate development, as well as a number of friends and family who push our heroine to find the man of her dreams.

The world building focuses on the building relationship between Kai and Alexandria-Society X does not play a major role in the story line but does bring together our leading couple, if only for anonymous sexual encounters.

PLAY ROOM is a sweeter , tamer story line than the previous two installments. There is very little conflict other than the ‘unknown’ but saying that the introduction of Alex’s high school sweetheart felt out of place, and added no anxious or conflicting moments. The premise is engaging but it lacked the excitement of the previous books; the characters are likeable and heartwarming; the romance is seductive and passionate although I question how neither one physically recognized the other once their time together took a more personal turn. The $ex scenes are intimate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

Oh Man!! I have never wanted a fictional place to be so real in my life. After reading each Society X novel, I have longed to be a memeber of this equisitely erotic and exclusive club...if only it were real!!! LP Dover and Heidi McLaughlin created a place that just ignites and inspires so many erotic fantasies. And with my own sexy scenarios swimming in my head, they manage to also deliver a sexy and passionate love story that just intensifies the experience.

In Play Room, we're introduced to the last very exclusive room in the club. If you've followed along with this sexy stand-alone series, then you've enjoyed anonymous sex in the Dark Room as well as voyeuristic play time in the Viewing Room...now it's time to "play" in the Play Room.

Alexandria and Kai were a perfect match. Both were quite prim and proper in an "old fashioned" sort of way. Sure Kai had his urges, but he didn't need a sex club to scratch his itches and he sure as heck didn't have any "kinks" that needed to be released in a place like that...but trying it out wouldn't hurt right? After what he'd seen, he was willing to test the waters - just for the fun of it. Alexandria has always been known as the "goody too shoes" in her hometown. With a strict father around, she wasn't able to explore her sexuality like most people her age, so a place like Society X was perfect for her to try things out and maintain full anonymity. No one would know and she could finally explore her sexuality without judgement.

Both characters had amazing chemistry from the get-go. It was intensely sexy and very erotic when the two were in the same room, and it didn't even have to be sexual. They just had that spark that was lit when they were in the same vicinity. It was true passion and which let do an unforgettable story.

I tell you, this is probably the most erotic of the three Society X novels. I absolutely LOVED it!!
FAVORITE QUOTES:
Let me tell you there is no amount of jacking off that curbs the desires left behind in the play room. I wanted carnal knowledge of the woman on her knees. Hot uninhibited sex.

This isn't me...but the thrill of it all is so exhilarating. There's a part of me that like I don't know what she looks like, or her me. My body is actually craving the mystique behind it all, the secrecy.

I stand by my original assessment of this place. It's some sort of sorcery, some voodoo sex magic that turns men into beasts.

There's something about being in the club that turns me on. It must be the lack of inhibitions. It's like anything I do there is acceptable, not like in our society.

Join Society X TODAY and explore each room for yourself!!

Alexandria had a rather strict upbringing mainly due to her father and is pretty shy towards guys. You will understand that from that point it is logical that she decides to loose her virginity to an anonymous guy in a weird sex club (Society X). As a reader, you need not worry about such behavior, because we have already been introduced to the guy: Kia. He is managing a big renovation project near Portland as a coworker takes him to lunch in that weird sex club where he feels forced to sign up as a member and participate. Kia and Alexandria have several anonymous encounters in Society X, while they also get to know each other in real life (outside Society X), without recognizing that they had sex in Society X. Kia meanwhile is becoming good freinds with Alexandria's father (without knowing he is her father) and this father which is supposedly out of contact with his daughter, does provide Kia with his daughters phonenumber, because he thinks she is in need of a decent husband with traditional values.
Kia and Liz stop going to Society X, because the club bungled some meeting-arrangements, so we need no longer worry about them 'cheating' in Society X on the very prim and proper relation they are gradually forming in real life. That one never should visit Society X is even made clearer by the fact that one day they meet an employee of Society X, who has the nerve to congratulate them on the fact that they met up in Society X. It takes a few more chapters for them to settle for the white picket fence and happily decide that they never need to visit Society X again. And that concludes the third and final installment on Society X.

Are you confused about the logic of the plot. So was I.

I'm going back and forth between two and three stars here. So many cliches I dislike in one story. It seemed messy, written too quickly, and badly in need of a proofreader. Wrong words were used (i.e. foray instead of foyer), and using "I" after a preposition just irks me.

Although I liked the love story, the characters weren't consistent throughout the story. The Kai from the beginning of the story was a much different version from the Kai at the end. His change came out of nowhere, and the transition was just not believable. I found Alex strange and never connected to her. Plus, I found the 25-year-old virgin angle to be trite and dumb. (I hate virgin stories, so it drug my opinion down a lot.)

Additionally, for a book about a sex club, the sex scenes were rushed and just slightly warmer than lukewarm.

I liked the first book in the series. The second and third were meh.

Play Room is book three in Society X Series. It can be read as a standalone. I have read the previous two and couldn't wait to read about the Play Room. There are rules to be followed when using the Play Room but we all know some rules are just begging to be broken.
Kai and Alex meet in the Play Room. Alex is a sweet girl. She also a virgin which had me scratching my head and thinking maybe she shouldn't go going to Society X. Kia is a nice guy. He's also a dedicated businessman. The both have their reason for going to the Play Room. These two are great together. This is definitely a good steamy read.

Kai moves from Malibu to Portland to participate in a project to revitalize the Sweet Briar community, under the command of Parker Ward ( protagonist of the first book in the series). One of his coworkers, Bryant, with the excuse of inviting him to lunch, takes him to Society X. This environment is not for Kai, when they give him the form to become a member he lies in everything in the hope that he will not be accepted.
Alexandria is the daughter of a preacher, an excellent cook and a w5 years old virgin. Her father’s strict control has made it very difficult for her to relate to men, and at this point she has many insecurities when it comes to intimacy. That is why one of her coworkers tells her to go to the club since it is all anonymous and so she can let go little by little.
Both Alex and Kai start in the play room ( oral sex) until they dare to try the dark room ( where Alex loses her virginity with Kai) and all this without seeing their faces or knowing what their names since one of the main rules of the club is anonymity. Both have doubts about continuing and yet a they feel a deep connection.
In the life outside the club, Kai meets Alex at a party given by Parker where Alex is in charge of catering. Kai asks for her number and they start dating. But both feel that they were being unfaithful to their partner in the club, not knowing that they are themselves.
But in the end the truth comes to light, and curiosity the one who has the most trouble accepting it is Kai.
For me this is the sweetest story of the trilogy.

I’d love to see her face, to kiss her and ask her if this has been worth it for her. I’d give her my number and ask her out to dinner so I can find out what her favorite color, movie, and song is. Something inside of me tells that this is the last time. That whatever we’ve done here is complete. The thought of not seeing her doesn’t sit well with me, but there really isn’t anything I can do about that. Silently, I tell her good-bye and hope that I can meet her someday. I took her virginity when it should’ve been given to someone who cares about her, who loves her unconditionally, who fucking deserved it because that man is not me. Any man who has to pay for sex doesn’t deserve the virtue of another, and yet I took it like a greedy motherfucker because I felt sorry for her. As far as I’m concerned, I’m done with the club. I thought about blocking Jenica’s number from my phone, but truthfully, if she were to text, I’d answer. I’m determined to break the rules. To rip the shroud covering our faces away so we can see each other. So we can look into each other’s eyes, smile, and appreciate the pleasure that we’re giving one another. No more secrecy. It makes me feel like I’m using this woman, and I’m not.

I can easily see myself falling in love with her. Hell, I might already be there, but I’m definitely holding back and protecting my heart. There’s a nagging voice in the back of my head that is warning me, preparing me for when this mystery man shows back up and rocks the foundation Alex and I are building.

“Babe,” I say, giving her a pet name without even thinking about what I’m doing. “I’m so sorry. I lost track of time.”“You said you were seeing someone when we first started hanging out.” “Yes, but it was … I don’t know what it was, Alex—” “Is she why you’re late?” she asks, looking at me with tears running down her face. “God no,” I say, cupping her cheeks. “I haven’t seen her since the night I met you at the Ward party. Believe me, I was working and I lost track of time. I’ll happily take you back to my office and ask security if you want. I will never lie to you, Alex.”

“Jenica,” I say curtly. I’m definitely not interested in introducing her to Alex. “You know, I heard about this happening, but haven’t witnessed it until now.”“You guys! I mean, how did figure it out? Did you break the rules?”I don’t want to assume, but it sounds like Alex was my partner at the club, and that just can’t be. “Oh shit, I didn’t know that you didn’t know … wow, what a coincidence that you would hook up outside of the club.”I can’t wrap my head around the fact that she used the club to lose her virginity. The more I think about it, the angrier I become. When Alex steps out, she doesn’t look at me. I don’t know where we go from here, but right now I can’t be with her. while I shouldn’t judge because I was there too, the fact remains she gave a complete stranger something that she should’ve held sacred to her. That is what kills me. And now I don’t know what I have besides a broken heart and a very confused brain. I know I need to talk to her, but I don’t know what to say. I need to know why she did that and how many other men she was with … That’s when the second or third shock of the night hits. I replay our first Saturday date in my mind. I had texted Jenica the night before, hoping to go back into the room with my partner. This was after Alex told me she was seeing someone and didn’t want to get involved with me, except she was already involved with me. I went to the room, but Alex wasn’t there. Some other woman was and I walked out. That night, Alex was upset. She was upset because of me, without even knowing it.

4.5 stars!

I really enjoyed the other books in this series, so I was looking forward to reading more books from these authors! I signed up to review this book as soon as I received an email with the information and I was so excited that I started my ARC as soon as I received it! After reading, I can say that I loved this book, but I have to be honest and say that I didn't enjoy it as much as the second book in the series! The plot developed at the perfect pace though and it only took me a few sittings to read! The plot was also different to what I was expecting, but I loved what happened in it and the direction that the authors took it in! The relationship between the two main characters was also developed slowly, but in a way it wasn't lol! It's so hard to explain it because the synopsis doesn't give the plot away at all lol! There were also some seriously hot scenes between the two main characters too! The characters were also amazing and made this book even better! Alexandria 'Alex' was the main female character, and in this book she was inexperienced and a bit shy when it came to sex! This is why she did something very unexpected to lose her virginity! I did admire Alex because it took guts to be almost thrown in at the deep end lol! Alex grew a lot in this book too and she became more confident and sure of herself! I connected with Alex in this book too and she also worked hard and wanted to make a success of herself when it came to her job! Kai was the main male character and love interest of Alex! I loved Kai a lot in this book! He was seriously hot and had made a name for himself when it came to his job! He was a hard worker and he always strived to do the best he could! It was also easy to see that Kai had growing feelings for Alex and that he really cared about her! Kai did hold back a bit because of the secret hanging over their blossoming relationship! Alex was the same way, but the two of them were pretty shocked when the secret was revealed! I loved that this book was written from both Alex and Kai's point of views! I was hoping that it was going to be because the other books in this series were written from dual point of view, so I'm really happy that this book was too! It helped me connect more with both characters and it also allowed for a lot more to happen in the plot, especially because of the circumstances of the plot! This book was also co-written, which is another reason why I was expecting the book to be written from dual point of view, and I also couldn't tell which author wrote which character lol! I'm not sure if there's going to be more books in this series, but I really hope that there is because these books have been seriously hot and such good reads! I can't find any information on a fourth book though, so maybe this book is the final book! I hope these authors co-write again though! I love the cover for this book! It does suit the book and the characters of Alex and Kai! I will be honest and say that I did prefer the original covers for this series before the authors changed them, but this cover suits the book so well! Big thank you to Heidi and L.P. Dover for an ARC of Play Room and to Enticing Journey Book Promotions for having me on the Release Tour!

Society X is a special kind of club. Not only does there happen lots of sinful debauchery, but also is everything anonymous. You want to live out your most secret fantasies without being condemned or at the very least be strangely looked at? This is your place to go – for a hefty membership fee only, of course! …and only if you’re lucky enough to be chosen to become an elite member.

Like the previous two books, PLAY ROOM is insanely erotic, and I can just bow down to L.P. Dover – who has been one of my favorite authors for so long – and Heidi McLaughlin – who I only discovered with this series – for such an intriguing and unique idea. Three rooms for your dirtiest fantasies to come true – with the play room being the last one, sadly, I’m not ready yet to let this extraordinary series go.

So, please don’t think this story is all about the sex – it’s not. It’s about trying something new, taking chances and finding yourself, all while connecting with your partner and your partner’s body on a whole different level. And Alexandria Miller and Kai Robicheau do connect – physically without even knowing who the other person is – and emotionally when a chance encounter brings them together in the real world, once again without knowing the other. They are destined for each other without even knowing it.

Both of them have different reason for trying out the club – Kai is pretty much blindsided into it, very reluctant to check it out at all, while it’s the anonymity and freedom for Alex that draws her into its depraved halls – or rather rooms.

The story is as emotional as it is sexy, with well-developed characters that pull your heartstrings and a story guaranteed to make you smile and swoon for many different reasons. I had heart palpitations while reading it – and they had nothing to do with Society X at all and everything with the way everything comes together in the end.

A fast-paced, fascinating and sizzling, yet surprisingly sweet read – I loved every second of it!

Play Room is the third book in the Society X series by Heidi McLaughlin and L.P. Dover, but each book is a standalone story. I do recommend reading them all in order if possible though as you do get to see some familiar faces along the way and I have really enjoyed each book in this series. This book was a little more tame than the first two were, but I still really liked it and think fans of the series as well as new readers will like this one.

Society X only has a few rules: no names, no numbers and everything is to remain anonymous. Kai is looking for something with no strings and knows the club is the best way to go. His current job has an expiration date and he doesn't need any complications. Alexandria is a virgin with very little experience looking to explore her sexuality and desires. But when their club lives and the real world collide, what will that mean for them?

I really liked both Kai and Alex. They had a great connection and chemistry and I thought that they were so good together. Each of these two had their reasons for going to the club and yet they were both on the fence about it. I loved that they were a bit vulnerable and that we got to see them come into their own as they got to know one another. Like I said before this book was a bit more tame than the previous books and I liked that there was a sweetness as well as steam to the story.

Overall, this was another great installment in this series. I really liked Kai and Alex, and the secondary characters here. Heidi and Leslie are a great writing team and I really like that their stories are so seamless. They haven't disappointed me yet and I really hope that they continue to write together as well as individually. These two are some of my favorite authors and I can't recommend this series or their books enough.

A quick, hot read with just the right touches of sweetness and humor

Book 3 in the Society X series, I hadn't read the first two books before reading this. Since I never felt like I was missing background while reading, I can readily recommend this as a standalone.

I liked both the main characters, though probably Alexandria more than Kai (there were a couple of times I thought Kai deserved a head wap), and I thought the authors did a great job depicting characters struggling to deal with the complicated situation they found themselves in. In particular, I liked that Alexandria was ambitious (while still being loyal to her friends) and determined to be her own person, even as she was still discovering who that person was, and not letting herself be bowled over by either her father or Kai. As for Kai, though on the surface it seemed like he had it all together, underneath he seemed as lost in his own way as Alex. If he struggled a little more with his journey, it just made him that much more real.

I don't think I've read a story where both main characters were new to the club scene so I was curious to see where this one was going to go; in fact, nothing about this story was typical. Though I'm not usually a fan of secret-driven plots, I found myself getting sucked in by the twists and complications, and I actually enjoyed watching Alexandria and Kai's relationship develop knowing those secrets were bound to come out. There was plenty of chemistry not to mention some great secondary characters to help keep things interesting as well.

With characters I was cheering for and an intricate plot, this was a quick, hot, read that had just the right touches of sweetness and humor. 4 stars

This book was a well written book. The authors writing styles flow very well together and with each book they write together it gets much better. I guess the reason this book was 4 stars compared to the others in the series that were more was because although the story does revolve around the playroom, I didn’t get enough of the play room. I was expecting more in that aspect of the storyline.

The characters were well written and easy to like, the plot (minus my above opinion) was good. Alexandria was a bit of a surprise to me. The way she came about landing in Society X was different. It was fun to watch her come out of her shell and blossom into the woman she was meant to be. I liked her being shy at first but then as the story progresses you see her mature and change. I could relate to her with her upbringing and her relationship with her Father so I could understand her thinking and motivation in certain situations well.

Kai was a little harder for me to grasp at first. He was different than the other men we met through Society X, he was a little put off by the club but yet was intrigued enough to try it. I love his passion for his job and that he put 100% into everything he did. I loved his pursuit of Alex and that he was willing to be patient and keep things slow for her benefit. It showed his commitment to making things go the long distance with her.

This book was very sweet. Like I said my only issue is I wish more was done with the play room but overall it was a good book. I hope these authors continue to collaborate together because their writing and the stories they tell are enjoyable.

Play Room is the third book in the Society X series by Heidi McLaughlin and L.P. Dover. So far we have met the Viewing Room, where voyeurs and exhibitionists alike can live out their fantasies. We have also met the Dark Room where you can have completely anonymous relations without worrying about what you or your partner may look like and just enjoy the time for what it is.

Now we have the Play Room where you can indulge in nearly any fantasy you may have and still keep it anonymous if you want. There are rules for a reason and breaking them is cause to have your membership to Society X revoked. Kai Robichaud is a member but it seems to be by default. He doesn't really want to be there but is still intrigued and can't say no when a simple request makes its way to him. Alexandria is pretty sheltered and maybe a bit naïve but she doesn't WANT to be that way. Society X is a way for her to indulge in some fantasies and get some "experience" anonymously and with less pressure.

However, what we always fail to remember is that destiny and fate are always around the corner to either build or break your current relationships. Are these two destined to find each other? Or will they break all the rules in order to be together?

I found this story so darned steamy. I love a great steamy story that is not always focused on the deed but also on the foreplay and this book does that in spades.

4.5 Stars!

Heidi McLaughlin and L.P. Dover are back with the third standalone installment in the insanely hot Society X series and holy smokes was that an epic experience. Built around forbidden temptation, ultimate passion, lust, love, and hidden desires... the journey this book, hell this whole series, takes you on is tantalizing, sexy, erotic, sweet, and quite honestly breathtaking at times.

Play Room is Alexandria and Kai's story and what a story these two told. Definitely my personal favorite out of this series and full of steam, intensity, and romance... this book delivered everything it promised and so much more. I was glued from the very start and by the time the pages quit turning, I was more than satisfied.

Are you ready to give in to your passions and desires? Are you ready to give away your heart? Alexandria and Kai are going to do do just that... and ultimately find much, much more than they ever could have imagined.

Oh sure it won't be easy for them at times and it'll get downright complicated. Rules will be broken. Lines will be crossed. Anonymity only stays hidden for so long. But when they they give in.... the reward is endless and utterly addicting with a sweet sweet taste.

Society X is not to be missed folks! Jump on that now!

I highly recommend this book and series!

I honestly thought that Dark Room would be my favorite out of this series, but boy was I wrong!!

Welcome to the Play Room. Another delicious destination inside the sexy walls of Society X!!

Alex is
a chef from a small town outside of Portland, longing to break free of her small town ways and discover who she truly is. Kai is a recent Portland transplant from Malibu, looking for release from a hectic schedule.

These two will melt your heart. Kai is SUCH a great guy. He's introduced to Society X by a new co-worker and honestly doesn't ever expect to go back; going so far as to answer the questionnaire with outlandish replies that couldn't be further from his truth.

Alex is darling, and watching her journey of self discovery is beautiful. She's sweet, and shy, but knows what she wants.

I love the way the Play Room works. It's like the Dark Room in that you can't see your partners face, but like the Viewing Room in that any of your fantasies can come to life. The way these two come together (no pun intended) is brilliant.

Heidi and Leslie do such a fantastic job of writing together. The story flows seamlessly, and the scorch factor is off the charts. I hope, hope, HOPE that we get one more Society X book from them!

Play a Room by Heidi McLaughlin and LP Dover is the 3rd and final book in the Society X series.

I love all 3 of the books in this series, but I have to say Play Room is my favorite. It's all about the excitement of the unknown and being able to live out your fantasies without anyone judging you.

The Play Room is the place to go.

Growing up as the Preachers daughter, Alex has always wanted more in life, more then the strict life she's grown to know.

Kai is intrigued by the club and even more intrigued with his partner. Not only does the club scare him, but the connection he feels with his "partner" scares him more.

Love both Heidi McLaughlin and LP Dover and when you put the together they give this crazy hot Society X series. Loved the series so hard, no pun intended.
Play Room is the 3rd in the series, but can be read as a standalone.
Definitely one click worthy
