I read and then donated this book in honor of my mom, Jamie, who was magical! Donated to Seipelt Elementary’s Little Free Library. This board book was super cute and colorful. I loved the ending too! Special moms make special kids :)

This book is quite amazing! I loved it so much...bright, beautiful celebration of Mom's. There is nothing better than a book that showcases all the ways that Mom's strive to be everything they can to their children. It is so wonderful and the illustrations are amazing! A must have for ALL Moms.

I cannot wait to use this book in my classes next year for Mother's Day. It is perfect. Also a great gift for any Mom's birthday!

Might be biased, but this entry isn’t as strong as the dad one.

This book is really adorable and perfect. I loved all the illustrations, it's bright and colorful -- my 6 month old was really drawn to it -- and there's a narwhal! Did you know that narwhal horns were often claimed to be unicorn horns in the middle ages? Now you know. And obv. I'm a magical unicorn.

Review originally published on my blog, Nine Pages .

“Mom,” portrayed here as a rainbow-maned and –tailed and rainbow-speckled unicorn, is described in a set of creative comparisons that rely on alliteration: “sillier than a band of bananas,” “sweeter than a cloud of cotton candy.” There’s not a lot of story to it. Pages alternate between pages of text that pops from the page between a frame of illustrations like an affirmation poster and pages of the unicorn illustrated in silly poses and fun costumes. It would make a sweet gift, an alternate to a card for a mother.

While I am personally not a huge fan of unicorns (they're just horses with horns - you don't see narwhals bragging), it's hard to resist this lovely and amazing book! The illustrations and lettering alone are so lovely to look at but then you add on the fact that the book says great things about Mom (e.g. more amazing than a billion butterflies, stronger than a squad of superheroes)! Yes, most of the book is hyperbole but it is too fun to resist!

It is a book that I highly recommend if you have small children. Since it draws a lot of attention for the very colorful illustrations and also for the unicorns. It is ideal for young children since they use metaphors that are quick to understand and are not long texts. It has a very nice message to interpret. Talk about what a mother is capable of for her children. Mothers try to give them everything and find solutions so that our children are well and lack absolutely nothing. It's very nice to read books that relate to children and mothers the truth 10/10 very nice book.

This is my daughters favorite book, we read it almost everyday and more than once a day most days.
She is 8 months old, I'm not sure if she is drawn to the colors or what but she wants to have this book around her all the time.
I also love the message and it's a nice pat in the back when I'm having a hard day. I already gifted this book to all my friends with children. And, bought the Dad version for my husband who was getting a bit jealous.
Definitely a must have.

As Jack’s mom, I clearly love any book that tells him how awesome I am. All joking aside, this book is super creative, funny, and has incredibly colorful and detailed illustrations. It has a hipster vibes, but I really like it.

Jack was drawn to the bright and vivid colors, and I think he found the unicorn interesting after seeing a normal horse every night in Night Night Farm.

Daniel’s professor friend from Kansas City got us this book.

This is a fun one for a mom to read with her child. The content I'd say gears more toward little girls with pink and more girlie illustrations throughout, but no matter the child's gender it's a fun uplifting book to celebrate mommies! The words are simple, the pictures are vibrant, overall it's a wonderful little book. And there is a daddy book too called "My Dad is Amazing" as part of the series.

So, I may have ordered this and directed my husband to have the kids give it to me for Mother's Day. No shame in tooting your own horn, right?

The illustrations are absolutely delightful, full of color and fun, and I was so happy to see a narwhal on one of the pages! There is also great vocabulary building words, alliteration, and rhyming. A perfect board book.

I loved this book! Unicorns are one of my favorite creatures. The book has wonderful text and awesome illustrations full of bright colors that would engage any toddler too! Perfect for Mother's Day. It doesn't mention the holiday, but it's a book about how magical and awesome their mom is and I think that warrants it would be a good book for Mother's Day.

I feel like this book is more for adults than children. Maybe a good Mother’s Day gift. The illustrations and colors are cool but don’t want to be encouraging my child to eat candy.
