Recruited by the U.S. Military, Professor Richard Merlo and his assistant, Omorose Nasser, find themselves transported from their paranormal studies to the middle of the Arizona desert, investigating a haunted military outpost abandoned decades before. The academics soon find themselves in over their heads, investigating a spectral murder at the invisible hands of the entities that have made a deactivated missile silo their home. The hunters soon become the hunted, caught between non-corporeal hostiles and a military unit comprised of supernatural soldiers in a battle to prevent an ancient evil from unleashing a very modern armageddon on the innocent.
USAF Veteran and retired criminal investigator C.E. Martin lives in the American Midwest with his wife and two daughters, embellishing accounts of supernatural and paranormal happenings he has personally experienced or heard of over his career to create over-the-top tales of two-fisted Pulp action. When not writing or spending time with his family, C.E. can be found binge-watching scifi series and modern B-Movies, battling virtual villains on X-Box, or biding his time until the next trip to the gun range.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
This is my first book by C.E. Martin and I did not regret it at all. It was fantastic. Having never read this author before, I wasn't really sure what to expect, but I have to say that I was quite impressed with Ghostwalker.
First, this was not at all what I was originally expecting and I am glad I picked this up to read. I thought this was going to be another steamy supernatural story, but this was completely different. If you're looking for more steam, this is not the book for you.
This is the second book in the Spectral Ops series. Filled with adventure, action, drama, ghosts and mistery. The book blurb adequately describes the storyline so I'm not going to repeat that info here.
Well worth the time, very well written and well organized book with a real storyline. I enjoyed the plot and the author did the great job telling the story. I highly recommend it.
First time reading from the author. I liked the cover and the description of the story. It pulled me into wanting to know more. Wow! Never a dull moment as the action hits the page and keeps me reading at a nice steady medium pace. The characters and the story just pulls me into their world the author built. I felt like I was right next to them and the time was ticking off the clock type feel to it. I don’t know if I every want to visit a place like this. I keep hearing the twilight music playing in my head. Very good action book with lots going on. I liked the story and hope to read more from the author.
Got ARC for an honest review. Thank you for sharing your book with me.
Compared to Stone Soldiers 10-11 this jumped ahead in the timeline not sure how far. Not as good as some of the others but still better than most action books.
