Not even the strongest people can survive without at least some help from others, but choosing to be vulnerable enough to ask is a challenge. This struggle is a recurring theme in this fast-paced, heartfelt novel.

Garrison is a loving father trying to save his adolescent son from substance abuse. To further complicate things, he has to confront his growing feelings for Sam, a woman facing demons and struggles of her own. When a dangerous situation arrives to threaten them, Garrison and Sam must

Title: Generous Lies (Hidden Truth #3)
Author: Robin Patchen
Pages: 386
Year: 2017
Publisher: CreateSpace
My rating 5 out of 5 stars.
Generous Lies is the third installment in the Hidden Truth series. The first two novels are Convenient Lies and Twisted Lies. Robin Patchen’s stories are very riveting with a mixture of adventure, danger, mystery and a touch of romance. Here, a former FBI agent, Garrison, and his son are in a small town while his son recovers from a mixture of drugs he took at a party.

Wow, I just love this series. Patchen got us right back into the Hidden Truths series and this time we got to know Garrison and Sam. No problem keeping those screens scrolling! Couldn't wait to find out what was happening with Matty & his dad, too! Can't think of a thing I didn't like about it...edge of my seat kind of read :) Can't wait to find out what is next in this series!
The publisher provided me with a copy of this book. All thought and comments are my own!

This book is book 3 of Robin Patchen's "Hidden Truth" series. Though I haven't read book 2, I didn't have any trouble keeping up as this book is able to stand on its own. Having read book 1, I was familiar with several characters and learned a bit about what happened in book 2, so I would probably recommend reading these in order, but they are fine to read on their own as well.

This book is a romantic suspense, and I find the balance of those two genres to be excellent in this book as well as the

Generous Lies is book three in the Hidden Truths series. It can be read as a stand alone but I was thankful I had read book 1 & 2 because I knew who the characters were and how they related to one another.

In Generous Lies the focus is on Garrison, a retired FBI agent who is trying to help his seventeen year old son overcome his drug addiction. He takes his son, Aiden, away from New York to Nutfield to stay in the vacation cabin of Samantha, a friend of his. Aiden is fighting the side effect

Generous Lies is the third book in Robin Patchen’s Hidden Truth series. This book is as wonderful as the first two. I love that the mysteries in these books do not feel patterned or predictable. This third book revolves around two youth: Aiden, the son of former FBI agent Garrison Kopp, is a drug addict; Matty O’Brien, Aiden’s dealer and best friend, is thrown into a dangerous situation created by his often-absent father. As Garrison strives to get help for his son, he seeks refuge in the town ...more

Very real, intense story about fathers and their teenage sons and how far a father will go to protect his son. Then add in drugs, bad guys, anxiety disorders, panic attacks and danger and you have a story that will have you rooting for the good guys and planning against the bad guys.

Absolutely loved this story, very real to life with intriguing situations. I loved how 2 different father son stories are contrasted in the storyline. One family is made up of a loving involved father who realizes i

Robin Patchen quickly draws the reader into the story of two teenagers caught up in the drug scene, one an addict and the other a dealer. Grab the book and come along on an intense journey as the father of the addicted boy, Garrison Kopp, seeks to remove his son from the environment he is in and find help for him. As Garrison and his friend, Samantha Messenger, research options for rehabilitation, the information they find is not particularly encouraging. Garrison had been drawn to Samantha in t ...more

Wow! This first book I've read by Robin Patchen makes me anxious to read the first two books in the series! The suspense is gripping, unputdownable, and ranks right up there with some of the best authors I've read.

When former FBI agent Garrison Kopp receives word that his son, Aiden, is being rushed to the emergency room, he expects to learn anything but what he does - his son took some drugs at a party and got hold of some bad acid. Already reeling from this news, he's unprepared to hear that a

I really enjoyed this book. It is a drama about a single father dealing with his teenage son who is addicted to drugs and has just overdosed. He is an ex FBI Agent but is not prepared for this task. He turns to a friend he met a few months ago when he helped on a kidnapping case of a small child. The woman has rental cabins on a lake a few states away and agreed to help him. These two have been forming a friendship over the months by phone. She is willing to help but has problems of her own. Big ...more

This is book three in Robin Patchen's "Hidden Truth" series. They are all good! One of the things I love about this one is that it tackles the very timely - and scary for parents - issue of teenage drug addiction. Opioid addiction is on the news every night. People are dealing with this all across the country and all across the economic spectrum. Patchen does a very credible job of exploring how it can affect a family.

Aside from that important issue, the story is engaging from the start, picking

A stand-alone novel, Book 3 is based a secondary character introduced in Book 2.

For those who enjoy a clean romantic suspense will love this, and those who don’t mind not having ‘sexy scenes’ will love it too.

Garrison first meets Sam in Twisted Lies. They meet again when Garrison reaches out to Sam asking if there is cabin available to rent so he can concentrate on his son and help him through his addiction and problems. They move into the cabin by the lake but trouble soon follows.

Suspenseful story, with a romantic addition
Robin Patchen is a great writer of Christian suspense and romance. This book is about a father, Garrison Kopp, who decides he needs to do something drastic to get his son’s attention, and help him get off of the drugs he is taking, which were gradually stealing his son’s life. He calls a friend, Samantha, (who he wants to get better acquainted with) and asks if she has a cabin available; then he takes his son, Adrian, out of state, reducing contact with

Robin Patchen did it again in a fast-paced, riveting clean suspense, with a bit of romance in there to sweeten it up. Stories with teenagers, parties, drugs, cars, police and fear are probably a part of most family's lives, whether in the immediate family or extended families, and so this story becomes very relevant and is great clean reading for any age. I would have liked to learn a little more about how the rehab experience worked out for Garrison's son in the end, and also how the romance wo ...more

I keep waiting for the action to die down and this series to get boring or repetitive but it doesn't happen. We are now told the story of Aiden's addiction and battles and how they draw in and bring him and his father closer but jeopardize lives and more. When Garrison takes Aiden away from home and Sam helps they have no idea what they are in for because nothing is simple with this group of friends. And friends they are, helping supporting and sharing.

Another great story in the series. Yes the

Robin Patchen has done it again!

Still, as always, the consummate writer, Robin once again enthralls us with her continuation of her Hidden Truth series. She draws us into her stories as if we are among the characters and weaves the story around us so that even when we finish reading we continue to think of the plot, the characters, and the place. I am left hoping that there are more books to come in this series. Robin is able to bring God and romance into a book in an inspiring and all encompass

A definite winner !

Another totally amazing book by Robin Patchen. Her books keep you mesmerized from page one until you reach the back cover. She can write a story that pulls the reader in as it they are a part of it. You feel like you know the characters and it seems like you are in the room with them as the story unfolds. She could continue this series until little Johnny grows up and had a family. I absolutely love her books. They are a good clean read for people of all ages.

This book was captivating. It explores the complexities of relationships... families, friends, and romantic--broken relationships, new relationships, becoming vulnerable, having your greatest fears exposed, feeling helpless, feeling hopeful, having trust broken, so many realistic issues we deal with. Robin focuses on the element of strong addiction, which severely affects every person who comes near the addict. Add a serious crime to the mix--from where there is no escape--and it's a thoroughly ...more

This is the first book I have read by this author and I had no idea it was part of a series. It can obviously be read as a stand-alone book. Lots of suspense and thrills as well as a bit of romantic strands running throughout.

A teenage drug dealer and a teen addict precipitate a crisis that puts their lives and those of their loved ones at the mercy of a ruthless smuggler.

I received an arc of this book and voluntarily provided a review.

This was a great series, and I came to love Nutfield, NH! I enjoyed getting to know more about Garrison Kopp and his teen-aged son. After finishing a book in which I hated all the characters, I found this to be very refreshing. Garrison was so accepting of his son's problems, loving and supportive: a great example.

Nutfield seems to Garrison Koop like a safe to take his son Aiden after his drug’s abuse. He ask Sam for a place to stay and for help to find a rehabilitation place for Aiden. But while they will struggle with Aiden’s addiction they will get involved in a very dangerous situation and they will face their past’s demons in order to survive. You can’t put the book down until the end.

Great story

I thoroughly enjoyed this continuing plot. I really felt like I was an observer watching how God organized the details of everyone’s life. Samantha was the only one who recognized Gods merciful hand in it, but even though it was predictable, the action kept the story moving.

A teenage boy with a mysterious package, his friend's over dose, and father with no clue keep this story moving. Throw in a pretty real estate agent and foreign agents and the story heats up. No sex or gore, a clean read. I received this free copy for a voluntary review.

VERY AWESOME suspense with a sweet bit of romance. This hit home with the characters and the teens. Great dad role model and one that isn't so great. Interesting portrayal of a woman overcoming fears, too! Loved it!

Aside from her family and her Savior, Robin Patchen has two loves—writing and traveling. If she could combine them, she’d spend a lot of time sitting in front of her laptop at sidewalk cafes and ski lodges and beachside burger joints. She’d visit every place in the entire world—twice, if possible—and craft stories and tell people about her Savior. Alas, time is too short and money is too scarce fo ...more
