"Which is the true nightmare, the horrific dream that you have in your sleep or the dissatisfied reality that awaits you when you awake?"

- Justin Alcala

Never in his wildest dreams has Kirk Ingram thought that his life will turn out to be such a complicated, perilous and haunting drama. He was spending too much of his time into his career that he didn't think much of his lovely wife and daughter. Certain circumstances remind him of his duties toward his beloved family. So he decides to ride his c

A thrilling read, Haunted is an intelligent book with a brilliant plot that will keep the reader on his/her toes and make them want to move on to the next page ASAP!
FBI Agent Kirk Ingram's family is brutally murdered under his nose and he is helpless in the situation. From there, the story moves to various happenings all over. The characters and their names do get a bit confusing, but that is what makes it all the more interesting. It makes the reader want to know more and more... Some of the r

Superb!! And I am putting it mildly, believe me! When I got this book, I was already reading something else, but did a sneak peak of the first couple of pages, and I was hooked.
You read this book, and you will feel its a best seller by a seasoned author! But no! Douglas is a new boy in the Indian literary scene and I am still wondering why there still hasnt been enough hype heard about him and his book. Move over CB and the host of writers who think they can write, Douglas is a star story teller

It's an awesome thriller... The plot is well set... The story is about how a FBI agent takes to stopping organized crime all by himself when his family is murdered heartlessly in front of his own eyes.. The description is so nice that if you read it you can almost see it and listen it happening in front of you... It is a must read for those who love action packed stories and movies.. I say must read for anyone... You would just love it!! Thumbs Up to Douglas Misquita!!

The Good:
1. For a debutante, the author has composed an exquisite piece. The writing is lucid. The descriptions are detailed (too detailed perhaps). Sentences are crisp to the point where the book reads like a script for a film, and not a literary work.
2. The story is complex, with a plethora of sub-plots which move like silo-s, eventually to converge at a reasonably happy ending.

The Bad:
1) This hackneyed central conceit of an officer losing all to organised crime, and then trying to redeem hims

I finally managed to set aside some time to read 'Haunted'. It was a good thing I didn't make plans for the rest of the evening, because this is one of those books that hooks you and draws you in. It's fast-paced and action-filled, never a dull moment here - almost like a movie script. The plot unfolds chapter-by-chapter making you wonder what's going to happen next. The style of writing makes you feel like you're right there - you'll probably want to duck to make sure you don't get hit by a str ...more

FBI Special Agent Kirk Ingram has lived through a nightmare. On the verge of taking a desk job so that he could spend more time with his family, he instead is targeted and watches as his family is massacred in front of him. He is the only survivor and when he recuperates, he returns to work, more determined than ever to put an end to the criminal activity around him.

There are plenty of candidates for his expertise, but he is assigned to uncovering and stopping a vicious network of Balkan terrori

An excellent plot, the entire story is so gripping that readers desperately feels to move on next page. An action packed, fast paced novel. The author’s way of describing the whole thriller is really awesome; he knows what readers want to read. Command on the language is good. The crime scenes are described with good narrative. Sometimes it seams like you are watching a Hollywood movie. FBI, terrorism, suspense, revenge, loyalty, helicopters, ships, CIA, etc every ingredient needed for thriller ...more

Highly recommended to all action-lovers.

Here's the complete review of Haunted by Douglas Misquita .

Terrorism isn't a new theme, and it comes with a set of standard ingredients: a bunch of bad men, drugs, weapons (mechanical and chemical), bloodshed, explosions, power-thirst, hostage situations, and of course, a few good men, trying to restore order. So it's totally in how you "package" these "standard ingredients" that makes the difference. And the USP of Haunted is its fast pace and crisp edit

Found the book to be excellent and was unable to put it down . loved the style of the author where he is able to bring every minute detail of the story to life . U can see every bullet hole, smell the smoking gun barrels and hear every glass shattering.
every individual in the book, however insignificant, is given his own character and story . the mark of a great writer is when he is able to totally immerse you in the world he has created and here is a writer who is able to do it in spades.
A perfect page turner. This one's a rare gem, coming from an Indian author.
