Lily Bardou is the Pack Guardian for her Wolf Pack or at least she was up until two years ago. When she made a big error and broke Pack Law. Now it's two years later and he best friend, Sara, is pushing her to get back into the game and also take her place back up as Pack Guardian. Lily not sure that she is ready for all of this yet. Plus she has a slight problem, she hasn't been with anyone since her big mistake

NOOOOOOOO!! Way too short! I didn't realize this was a novella. Right as I was getting really into it, it ended! I want more Lily and Kieran. I see that this is going to be a series, so I HOPE that this was just a teaser and we get another full length story about Lily and Kieran. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because I wanted more! I wanted this to be a full length novel. I would have loved for there to be a prologue told from Kieran's point of view, when he went to watch Lily ki ...more

Lily is a guardian for her wolf pack, but for the last couple years she's been hiding from her responsibilities. She's also neglecting her wolf side, which is bad for everyone, it's making her weaker an drivin her crazy. One night at a bar with a friend changes all that though. This was a fun lil novella about a she-wolf getting her groove back and finding her mate. You also get an introduction into the Black Mesa wolf pack, and meet some of the characters for the next books in the series. Altog ...more

This is, what I hope to be, the start of a great series about wolf shifters. The novella opens up with Lily, a Pack Guardian, meeting her mate in a bar. This story opens the door for what is to come. It is a great set up to the series and left me wishing the next novella was available to find out what happens with the Pack.
That ended sooner than I thought !!
A little rushed, but a good story in the making. I hope she continues, as I would like to see the brothers and her friend get a story each. And to see how the two main characters develop.
Fingers crossed for a second book.

I am beginning to have a whole new appreciation for authors of short story's, it amazes me the amount of detail they can put into a story which has less than 100 pages. In short I absolutely loved this book, which is so well written that I felt emotionally attached to the main character from the first page.

The main character is Lily, she is a red haired werewolf the only one left. at the start of the story Li

Wolf shifters lose their focus when they don’t have sex. Lily Bardou is a Pack Guardian and has been afraid to have sex with anyone since the night she had sex with a human and accidentally turned him. Pack law is firm on what happens to the person who is turned. They must be killed. Lily was forced to kill the man she made love to and it broke something inside her. Without sex, her wolf was getting weaker. It was up to her friend, Sara, to help her take a chance again on passion.

My Thoughts - 4 out of 5 Unicorns - I really liked it!!

I picked this book up free early in the month, and guess what it is still free so you can too!!! YAY!!!

The cover is stunning and gorgeous :) I loved it, and it definitely grabbed my attention.

This is a novella only about 40 pages and for adults since there is a steamy scene. I really enjoyed this story, and I think it is going to be a wonderful series. Lily is strong and knows what she wants when she makes up her mind. She has a past that we

This is the first book in the series. I was given the second book, Alpha Wolf, in exchange for an honest review, Lovers of Paranormal.

This was an incredibly short book but, surprisingly, still managed to produce very strong and likable characters with some back story. The focus being on a female wolf shifter was an immediate attention grabber although the hunky Kieran quickly being introduced to our tough but caring Lily was a good move. Definitely an adult book because of the sex scene but a gr

This was a very short book. An extremely fast read. The story was okay if you are looking for something really fast to read and are not offended by explicit sexual scenes. There wasn't any action in this story, it was basically an "insta love" story with just a hint of something that must be coming in the next book. In my humble opinion, I don't feel that there was any character developmen

Lily is a guardian of the Black Mesa Wolf Pack and takes her job very seriously until the night she turns a human into a wolf, which is a no-no. She has to be the one that puts him to death. Two years later and she still hasn't gotten over it. She is at a bar with her friend and notices this hot cowboy.

Kieran has wanted Lily since he first saw her. He has waited patiently because he knows she belongs to him and she has to get over what happened before he can claim her.

The passion between these

It's a great opener for the series though I found it a little bit hanging. I'm into the characters and I'm expecting more of their love story in this book. But this is a well explained book. The characters were very straightforward, you can really see the author's passion in writing this book.
So for paranormal-romance lovers who loves to read short stories with a little twist, I recommend you this bo

This novella is a good read. I like how it introduces me into the series. I like the story line. The characters are quite good. This is a good add to your tbr list. I look forward to reading more in this series. Recommended
This is the introduction to a book or series I'm unsure. Hopefully so because if not that left me hanging. I loved the conflict however I needed the backstory because. This kind of threw you in the middle of the story. Good part though and I'm definitely intrigued.

This is my first J. K. Harper read - I really enjoyed this - good news is the series is now in a boxed set that I will be adding to my wish list - when I am out of amazon jail (yes spent way too much again on books).

Lily Bardou is (or was) a Pack Guardian for the Black Mesa Wolves. She broke pack law and has put herself on lockdown - she has done nothing physical (i.e. sex) since the incident two years ago. Her bestie Sara, has taken it upon herself to put her back to work and take her place bac

Not a bad story but nothing special either

I downloaded this book for free and I am glad that I didn't have to pay anything for it. It's more of a part of a storyline than it is a stand alone story. Lily is the pack Guardian for the Black Mesa wolves. She has been absent from her duties for the past two years. She is trying to get beyond her personal issues when she meets Kieran, another wolf shifter in a bar. He's hot, she's hot, it's been awhile so time to hit the sheets. That's it? As I said,

Uncaged Review: A short novella, introduction into the Black Mesa Wolves series. This short read actually gives just enough information to spark your interest in this series, as it was meant to. Lily is a Guardian for her pack, but she’s been off her duties since she had to kill her human lover, whom she bit during sex, which is against pack laws. Enter Kieran, an alpha from a pack up north, observing the pack as it is with tradition, and he’s been watching Lily for the past tow years. Will Kier ...more

This was a very short introduction to the Black Mesa Wolves that sets up what is clearly the start of many more books. Lily is an estranged Guardian to the Black Mesa wolves who went through a very traumatic event. That trauma has put the pack at a deficit for power, which can be replenished if Lily takes back her place and has some sexy times.

Kieran is a visitor from another pack who saw Lily's true strength in how she dealt with the "incident." Since then, he's been obsessed. He's waited patie

I was expecting a little more of a paranormal aspect within this story but sadly that wasn't the case, I think it was very much focussed on mating and well the sex scenes more than anything.

I liked the characters they were well rounded characters and the author did make you want things to work out for each of them, I felt a lot of underlying emotion in this very short book, it's a shame it was made to be more about sex than rebuilding confidence and ability.

I don't usually struggle with short s
