This is my "go to" book in times when I need to be flooded with peace and gentle reminders to trust in Christ. It's on my "Top Ten" list and I recommend it wholeheartedly.

One of the best books ever! I love her poetry and her imagery so much! The concept of this book is awesome and it's an easy read if you can understand old English

A little book full of gems for Christians who have trouble asking God the hard questions. His Thoughts Said was written by Amy Carmichael, who worked for decades in India, rescuing children from temple prostitution. This work covers in small paragraphs the questions and thoughts which even the most seasoned Christians lay before the Lord. The frustrations, the joys, the honest wonderings, the praises; all are written in old-fashioned, poetic, third-person prose. We feel as if we have a hallowed glimpse into Amy Carmichael's innermost thoughts. This is very comforting: If a spiritual giant can have these thoughts, and have answers from her Lord, we can too.

An interesting format that didn't quite work for me, but could certainly hold some nice thoughts for someone else.

I love anything written by Amy Carmichael. Her words pierce through the surface and lodge so deeply in my heart. And this book is one of her best for causing the reader to pause and listen to what God is speaking in our own hearts. I read this book as a night time devotional, letting each entry be enough for one day. It's meant to be a slow read, to allow the Father's (God's) answers to the child's (our) questions root deeply.

It took me a few years to finish this book, because it's not a pick-up-and-read-large-portions-at-once kind of book (also it was in a box for a year and a half due to unforeseen circumstances). However, every time I read a portion I found help for whatever I was facing! Each section is small enough to make this a part of one's devotional reading, and the insights are so helpful!
