2.5 stars
First off, I hate leaving low stars. I was excited to start a new author, especially one that has come up in conversations before. It started out a little slow, but promising. Becca and Scott don’t hesitate to rekindle their romance, which is good, but I found the story very fluffy. There wasn’t a ton of oomph for me. I felt like I was just reading a sweet contemporary romance with no action. Don’t get me wrong there was lots of sex, averaging once a chapter, but I felt that’s the only exciting thing that happened. Closer to 75% into the book I did get some of the angst I was looking for, but it felt fast paced, a little jumpy, and resolved quickly. After, it was back to fluffy.
Lots of hockey lingo, which I love, but I wanted Scott to be a little rougher around the edges.
I would try another book by this author, but I’d be more prepared for fluff than I was this time.
