“Uh-huh.” Lucas sounded drunk. “Your cock is awesome.”

DNF at 17%

This is my second DNF and low rating in a row, and I'm pretty sure - just like Lucas' sex life... I'm cursed. I tried. I really really did ... This wasn't a humor book but I found myself laughing and cringing instead of focusing on the romance.

Also, I would just like to note. This book has caused me to create a 'don't think with your dick' shelf.
Need I say more?

I've put off this review long enough, but I've been trying to gather my thoughts and they are simply... lackluster. Like this book...

I started off really enjoying this series, or as much as I enjoy any L.A. Witt book, but I've been struggling with her writing lately and this book goes along with that trend.

I struggled to get through Cover Up. It took me a long time to read it, and I kept skimming the sex scenes that seemed to never stop coming.

The biggest problem with this book is that it is r

I was looking forward to this book considering how the last book ended with Nate a mess after finding his husband with another man in their bed. I wanted his story especially when I found his love interest was going to be Lucas. I was intrigued by both men and thought they would be a hot interesting couple. I was right.

Nate is in the middle of a divorce and selling the home he shared with Caleb, his cheating ex. He's in the stage of being angry and just wanting to numb his feelings.

I have read the first book in this series, but I skipped the second. I will go back to read that one, If you are like me and don't mind reading books out of order, no worries, cause this one can be read as a stand alone ;)

Nate's marriage of 10 years has ended, because his husband cheated on him. Now he wants the tattoo, that reminds him of his ex, to be covered.

Navy Pilot Nate Chandler had been happily married for ten years until he discovered his husband Caleb cheating and now he's getting divorced.
Ten years is such a long time and he's struggling to come to terms with how his life has changed and why. One constant reminder is the matching tattoo on his arm and so he decides to have it covered and heads to Skin Deep and the cover up artist Lucas.

Lucas is younger than Nate but already has two divorces to his name so he understands what Nate is goin

This book is part of the “Skin Deep Inc.” series but can be read as a standalone.
It featured 2 MCs that were briefly introduced in the previous book : Nate, a military man, freshly separated from his husband after 10 years of marriage and Lucas, a tattoo apprentice, ten years younger but with already 2 divorces on his belt.

Nate is left stunned by the cheating and ending of his marriage. Not one for casual sex, he’s taken by surprise by the instant lust he feels when meeting Lucas, such an easy

Favorite of the series!

One thing I've loved the most about this series is the ease in which L.A. Witt writes the evolution of the relationships, and that shines brightest for me in this book.

Both Lucas and Nate have dealt with divorces in their lives, most recently for Nate, so they were able to understand each other when it came to hesitations about any type of serious commitment. Easy...they both wanted easy. And with the electric connection these two share right from the start,

I’m three for three on the reading satisfaction scale where this series is concerned.

In the third book of Witt’s Skin Deep Inc. series, Nate is picking up the pieces of his life in the aftermath of catching his husband of ten years cheating. Desperately needing a tattooed reminder of his ex removed from his body, Nat is sent to Lucas at Skin Deep Inc., who is an apprentice (in name only) and an expert in tattoo alterations and cover-ups. Nat and Lucas are instantly attracted to one anothe

I pretty much only read one smutty romance a year so when I finally choose one out I want it to be something quick and easy to read and entertaining and for me Cover Up was all of those things

Cover Up follows Nate, a man who's in the middle of a divorce from his husband of ten years, Caleb. He goes into a tattoo parlour to get a tattoo that's significant to his marriage covered up, and the artist, Lucas, is someone he has an instant connection with. The two start a casual sexual relationship whi

Salacious, flirty, and ardent!

Cover Up, the latest novel in the Skin Deep Inc. series is a passionate, steamy tale involving the betrayed, resentful Nate who is struggling to come to terms with the end of his marriage and Lucas the young, hardworking tattoo artist with little self-confidence but huge talent.

The writing is crisp and clear. The characters are handsome, diligent, and likable. And the plot, although a little repetitive, has lots of dirty talk, chemistry, lust, sex, emotion

I was so pleased with L.A. Witt’s latest novel, Cover Up! Both Nate and Lucas were adorable from the start and I was rooting for them the whole way through the story. The banter was really sweet, funny, and (best of all) real.

That was the overwhelming feeling I got through the whole book - it all felt real. Witt’s wonderful descriptions of what it is like to have a relationship with someone in the military, Nate’s process of dealing with a cheating spouse, and finding love again. It was all done

Lucas works at the tattoo shop. Just one of his three jobs. He covers up tattoos and he is the best..

Nate being in a divorce for months now wants his tattoo covered by something else.
When they meet sparks are flying.
Lucas and Nate meet outside the shop and the heat is on....

Hookups they are and nothing more... right...! Only they are the best hookups ever!

So things got a little hot at my house for a while because...

I've been reading L. A. Witt again...specifically 'Cover Up' which is Nate'and Lucas's story. We first met Nate and Lucas in 'Pounding Skin' book #2 in Ms Witts' 'Skin Deep Inc.' series.

I should not request book three in a series when I haven't started the series just because the cover is so pretty.

When I got approved I quickly went and grabbed the first two books to get up to speed.

Ugh. I didn't like the first book at all and the second was only marginally better.

The second book is still the winner out of the three.

I think this book had a strike against it just due to the timing. Nate had only just separated from his husband of ten years, separated without war

I really enjoyed these guys. It was great that their relationship started so early in the book because it gave me time to get the feel of both Nate & Lucas' personality and their growing chemistry. Of course I was sweating bullets for the "big issue" to occur and I didn't want it !!! I loved that they allowed themselves to simply enjoy and feel without putting a tag on what they were. This was a simple story of coming to a natural conclusion- moving on, reflecting and putting the past to res ...more

This is the third book in the Skin Deep Inc series. I liked the first one well enough and I really loved the second one. This one though comes in at a lower position than the first.

It was good but I didn't feel like there was a story to be told. Nothing really happened here that couldn't be summed up in one third of the length. Also, like with the first book, there were a lot of sex scenes. They were so many that about half of them could have been edited out and nothing would have been missed fr

Mehh. If the same things weren't told over and over, this book could have been easily half the pages. I found all these repetitions annoying and I skipped whole paragraphs looking to avoid hearing yet again about Lucas 3 jobs and college debt and about Nate's 10 years of marriage and cheating husband.
The story was ok, but nothing original.
Also, they cover artists need to stop using this guy's picture for romance books. If I see him one more time, I'm going to scream. There are plen

In this third installment to L.A. Witt's Skin Deep series, the main couple is Nate, Jon's best friend from the second book who was cheated on by his husband of ten years, and Lucas, who started as an apprentice in the Skin Deep Inc. tattoo shop in the last book.

This book is off the charts hot. The chemistry is there right off the bat and doesn't taper off at all.

Nate is in the middle of a divorce that is not exactly amicable. For a man who usually keeps his emotions bottled up, he is dealing with it the best way he knows how...by self-medicating with numbing alcohol. And avoidance. Of course.
Lucas is struggling to regain his confidence after a particularly unfortunate tattoo that he did. Between the botched tattoo and his extremely long run of bad sexu

3.5 star review written for The Blogger Girls.

This series is a lot like the Anchor Point series, only the focus is a bit more on the tattoo shop with a side of military, whereas Anchor Point is the military with a side of other. We met Nate in the previous book when he walked in on his husband of ten years having sex with another man. So, he was in need of some positive happenings for sure. Nate is the wingman for pilot Jon, who is now with tattoo artist Matt. Lucas is the apprentice at Skin Dee

So far this series is really working for me. This third book is about Nate (who is Jon from book two's work partner) and Lucas (who is an artist who specializes in cover ups at Skin Deep). Nate's in the middle of a divorce after his spouse cheats on him. He goes in to the tattoo shop to get a cover up on his tattoo and there he meets Lucas. The two men are immediately attracted to each other but neither wants a relationship. They decide to be friends with benefits but that goes awry when they en ...more

I read this in one sitting. I am fan of the series and I hope there will be more books though it doesn't look like there is another couple teed up.

Lucas is a wonderful hero who is struggling to regain his feet after two divorces and starting his tattooing career. I love the way his bisexuality is presented in the book.

Nate is in the process of getting a divorce. This love story pivots on the question of rebound or not rebound.

It is a lot about loss inherent in a divorce as well. I really liked

The Skin Deep, Inc. series started out on a high note, but has been unable to sustain it over the last two books. In Cover Up (perfect title, btw), Nate meets tattoo artist Lucas when he goes for a consultation to cover up a tattoo he and his soon-to-be ex-husband got together. For the first time in a long time, he finds himself attracted to a man, and he and Lucas embark on a casual, no-strings sexual relationship. Except, Nate has never been a casual, no-strings kind of man. I liked Nate and

An ARC was provided by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Nope, nope, nope - this didn't work for me practically from page 1. The dialogue was corny and the character byplay was too juvenile and obvious. Nate is supposed to be around 40 but he didn't act like it - hence my "juvenile" comment above.

I didn't find much about this story to be realistic and frankly it felt like the book was mostly about the sex. I didn't see what brought these two men together; there was a

This is, in my opinion anyway, easily the best in the series with two characters who felt relatable and believable.

Nate has been on the periphery of the other two books in this series, he's Jon's best friend, his RIO (Radar Intercept Officer), his wingman, the guy who's always had his back. At the end of book two, the reader was left with Nate's discovery of his husband Caleb's cheating and his 10-year marriage crashing around him.

Lucas was the new guy at Skin Deep, an expert at covering up othe

Great continuation to the Skin Deep story. I have read all the books in this series and really love how the author does an amazing job with her characters and their relationships.
In the end of book 2 you find out that Nate's husband had been cheating on him. So book 3 was Nate's story of how he moved on from his betrayal and his relationship with sexy tattoo artist Lucas.
I loved reading about the continuing relationships between Colin and Daniel, and also Matt a

It pains me to say but this was another ok-ish read from L.A.

I have only read book 1 and 3 from this series and I found the same problem in both books, the characters back stories sounded interesting enough but nothing really happened. It's frustrating because given the backgrounds the story could have been good but it wasn't, both characters were pretty much just going trough the motions and it took me weeks to finish this book and I never take that much time on a book.

I always enjoy an L.A. Witt book and I’ve read quite a few recently, including all the Skin Deep, Inc., as well as the Anchor Point series, written to date. Maybe that’s why I enjoyed this one just a little less; too many close together. Don’t get me wrong, it’s always great writing and wonderfully complete characters and settings. I wouldn’t call it formulaic either, just a little too much repetition in the construct and pacing of the narrative. However, even though sex scenes never vary much i ...more
