Intriguingly subtitled ‘A Black Ships Story’, Rob Sanders’ short story Soulfuel sees palatine Adrianna Verletz and her Battle Sisters of the Order of the Ebon Chalice hunting down a rogue psyker on an Imperial shrine world.

All the ingredients are there for a fantastic story, but after a fresh, fast-paced first third, it falls into a more predictable rhythm for the remainder of the story.

A rollicking violent and bloody effort from Rob Sanders, he even mixes in some previous work by ADB to maximise it's appeal.

Rob Sanders is a freelance writer, who spends his nights creating dark visions for regular visitors to the 41st millennium to relive in the privacy of their own nightmares. By contrast, as Head of English at a local secondary school, he spends his days beating (not literally) the same creativity out of the next generation in order to cripple any chance of future competition. He lives off the ...more
