Super duper cute! I love the pictures!!!

This is the perfect book for little kids. We all know that kids never want to go to bed. They are never tired and always want to stay up later than their bedtime. However—there is a big however this time—this book will surely make it easier for kids to get ready and go to bed.

The rhyming and phrasing of this story is easy to read. Kids learning to read will enjoy reading this book as much as they will enjoy listening to an adult read it to them!

All the pictures are adorable. The illustrator did an amazing job drawing the animals. Personally, the giraffes on the cover are the cutest! However, all the other animals are drawn wonderfully well!

Both the cover and the book deserve 5 stars. Everything about it is great for little kids. I would definitely recommend this book to all children!

My favorite children’s illustrations are what I think of as “soft and fuzzy.” And that is exactly the type of illustrations in this book—so that made my heart happy. There are giraffes, foxes, sloths, penguins (!!!!), and several other animal families depicted in this book

The poetry rhymed nicely in this book, featuring subjects that most children would be familiar with in normal bedtime routine. It also goes a little deeper than just physical routine and mentions counting blessings, praying, thanking God for the day, and singing about God’s love.

My youngest sister (age 8) grabbed this as soon as I opened my packaged and “oohed” and “ahhed” over the whole thing. It definitely catches the young readers’ eye.

God Bless You and Good Night is a wonderfully made Christian bedtime story that will be a great addition to your night time regiment. It is sturdy , washable for small children, with lots of colorful pictures that will catch their eye and hold their interest. Older children can share in reading it to their smaller brothers or sisters.

With touch and feel pages, they can experience the feel of the animals. I recommend it to those who have small children in their households or for grandparent's that are looking for that special book to read to their grandchildren.

With a snuggly parade of adorable animals and flowing rhymes, this book helps drift into the land of dreams.

Big, bold illustrations on every two-page spread background a lovely, four-lined poem, which hits upon familiar, bedtime rituals.

The illustrations in this book make it a treat for young listeners. They are colorful while maintaining a calming color scheme for tired, little eyes. Each four-line poem is highlighted by a different baby animal and its guardian, making sure that the feeling of love and care radiates off the page. There are familiar animals as well as a bit more unfamiliar ones, guaranteeing that kids will find a favorite. From the Artic to Australia to urban homes, a large variety of habitats is shown. The animals are given a little bit of a human touch (a pair of pants, a teddy bear), but always just a slight hint, while the main part of the illustrations keep a more natural air about them. It's a lovely mixture, which gives young listeners something to smile about while letting them view their favorite creatures in settings they'll recognize.

The poem flows smoothly, while adding a tad bit of the unexpected without becoming jaunting. The moments portrayed mirror familiar bedtime rituals and some sillier times like when the stomach suddenly rumbles for food. The wording is easy to understand and holds some cuter phrases like 'snuggle bug'. Of course, the religious thoughts are present but never over power the rest of the poem. Rather, they naturally flow in.

It's a sweet read for young animal lovers, and great for a last read before those eyes close for a good night's sleep.

I received a complimentary copy from Booklook Bloggers and enjoyed it enough to want to leave my honest thoughts.

The cover of this book is what caught my eye, I am all about the giraffes right now and this book is adorable. The illustrations are so fun and the overall theme covers all of the things you do at night to get kids ready for bed. I think this is a perfect bedtime book, though I wish it was a board book, as the cover won't last long in the hands of a child. Otherwise super cute book and I can't wait to share with the littles!

Five stars.

This is a great board book for bedtime! The touch & feel parts on each page are great to get kids to really interact with the book. The illustrations are beautiful and I love all of the different animals. The book’s message is winding down and getting ready for book. The message to kids is to also make sure to pray at night and thank God for the day! It is a great little board book with a great message, colorful and fun animal illustrations and lots of different touch and feel textures throughout the book.

Thank you to the publisher, Thomas Nelson, for sending me a review copy of this book.

This big, well, medium-sized padded board book is filled with adorable and cozy illustrations. Reminiscent of All Kinds of Kisses, this little animal families bedtime book is perfectly appropriate for snuggling before bed with even a prayer in the end. Definitely a keeper.

More easy rhymes for 2am readings! Part of the God Bless series, I'd previously read and reviewed God Bless My Family. I love this series! Now here's one that any parent or guardian could benefit from. A nighttime book of animals preparing for bed and saying goodnight. Sleepy giraffes, snuggly (yet still hungry) polar bears, and more, these cute animal families prepare for bed from bath time to snack time, to PJs and story time. The illustrations are adorable. Colorful, yet soft and soothing, any kid would love these cute little animals as they snuggle up and prepare to go to sleep. The rhymes and rhythm of the page make it easy to read, even when half awake and praying silently that they'll just fall asleep! For my kids, I've found that routine was extremely helpful (and important) when it was time for bed. They knew to expect one last small snack, then off to take a bath (or shower), dress in PJs, brush their teeth and finally a story before going to sleep. Sometimes it would be a devotional from Jesus is Calling kids devotional series. Then ending the night with a prayer, one last kiss and an "I love you". Not every night is perfect, and sometimes its full of tears and pouts when bedtime approaches. Perhaps this book will soothe that savage beast. Knowing that after their preparations before finally crawling into bed will be met with a special story treat, might get them to move faster...well, move, at least. Hannah Hall has a few others in the series that I haven't read yet, but I imagine the quality is right up there with this one. I highly recommended this book for any toddler or early reader. I received a complimentary copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

God Bless You and Good Night is a children’s book written by Hannah C. Hall and illustrated by Steve Whitlow that shows how various animals get ready for bed. With delicate pictures and gentle words, the book has a serene atmosphere to it.

The book is a board book with twenty thick pages. Each page is fully illustrated and includes four verses of poetic text. My favorite set of pages shows the mama kangaroo ready to read a bedtime story to her little one. God Bless You and Goodnight is a “touch and feel book.” Each page has a spot that you can literally touch and feel. Some of the animals, such as the raccoons and polar bears, are soft to touch, and other animals, like the porcupine, have a roughness to them.

The animals in the book prepare for bed in the way that humans might; they do things such as eat a snack, take a bath, and change into their pajamas. For children who may feel apprehensive about going to bed, the book has a calming tone to it. Children can see that the animals are happy to go to bed and get some rest. The book also shows the strong and loving bond between mothers and their children.

I received this book for review.

I absolutely fell in love with the first book that I held in my hands written by Hannah C. Hall. It is called Would a Worm Go on a Walk? Read my review here. God Bless You & Good Night is just as precious. Beautiful rhymes paired with absolutely charming artwork. It is soft… relaxing…. dreamy!

Gather up your snuggle bug and enjoy a wonderful way to unwind and relax for a dreamy nights sleep.

Adorable board book that is beautifully illustrated with bedtime babies throughout as they get ready to have sweet dreams. I loved that each page had a place to touch and feel a different texture for each animal depicted. That aspect adds to the fun and special message inside told through rhymes and lovable pictures that make you smile. Here’s a peek inside: “I’ll wrap you safely in my arms And squeeze my snuggle bug. There’s nothing more that I adore, Than a sleepy bedtime hug.”

All together this book is a winning combination.

I read this as an ebook. God Bless You and Good Night is a Christian bedtime story intended for young children. This book is about many different animals from all over the world putting their cubs to bed. Each animal is comforting their cub and telling them that they love them and God bless. I gave this book a five-star rating because it gets its message across in a very simplistic and captivating way. The book has big, colorful pictures, that are effective in giving off a soft, comforting mood. Also, the characters in the book, which are the animals, I think are effective at catching the attention of children because it gives them the opportunity to see some animals up close, and maybe even see some animals that they haven’t seen before. In addition, the language used in the book gives off a very soothing tone that is full of rhymes that catch your attention and its very effective in complementing the comforting mood of the book. I think this book would be very appealing to young readers. This book gives them the comfort and dreamy feel that can just put you to sleep, especially if the child’s mom is reading it to them before bed.

A sweet bedtime book we have been reading all month long with lullaby-like phrases about different steps during a bedtime routine with sweet illustrations of different baby animals with their parents. My favorite page shows a mama polar bear holding a plate of cookies beside a cute baby polar bear: "Was that a little growl I heard? I think it was your tummy. Let's get a snack then hit the sack. You're needing something yummy!" I read this while nursing Elliot at bedtime and rub his tummy as if I heard a growl too. I also love the endearing nicknames on a few of the pages, including fuzzy head and snuggle bug.

Sweet

I wanted a book that introduced God to my little disabled elementary student, my son. This is an above average bedtime book. I enjoy the cute animals in the illustrations. The text rhymes well and I love how the book thanks God for the day, though I wanted to see more small prayers like being thankful for mommy or providing strength and comfort. The font was too small. I need it to be bigger for my son to read. I would like to see more of this authors books with more prayers and bigger fonts.

This is such a sweet board book! I love the larger size, vibrant illustrations, and easy-to-read rhymes. I also like that unusual animals are depicted like red pandas and meerkats. The phrases are really sweet, too, like referring to the baby as “fuzzy head.”

Keep in mind this book doesn’t contain actual blessings but begins and ends with the phrase, “God bless you and good night.” This is a good way to introduce kids to the idea of God’s blessings. The storyline itself is about all the things little ones before going to bed.

I recommend this book, and the entire series, to all moms!

Best goodnight book!

This is one of the best written good night rhymes I've had the pleasure to run across. Every verse is sweet hearted, fun, and funny. They are even specific to the animal pictured while outlining a typical bedtime routine. Family love and love for God fill each one. The pictures are peaceful, inviting and delightful. I hope this pair continue working together.

This book portrays events in a child’s bedtime routine like taking a bath or getting a snack, but also saying bedtime prayers and thanking God for the day. The illustrations are all of cute animals. If they were children, I’d give this 5 stars. It’s still one of our favorites and I’ll probably record myself reading it for the days I am away.

This is one of my favorite books to read my daughter at night. The illustrations are beautiful and the prose is poetic. Each line is melodic and sweet. I always appreciate when prayer is embedded in bedtime stories to reinforce the importance of God and religion in life so this is a great blend of both.
