Canada: The Rough Guide

Rate this book
Our Northern neighbors get the full treatment in this new editionAlmost unimaginably vast, and home to one of the most ethnically mixed populations in the world, Canada has attractions that are as big and various as it is. The country embraces its own cliches with irresistible energy, promoting everything from lumberjack contests to maple syrup with inexhaustible enthusiasm. This infectiousness comes through in the Rough Guide's detailed coverage, which includes the lowdown on getting around and making the most of Canada's great outdoors.

This is a comprehensive guide to what turns out to be more than just a large country but one with a varied and immensely interesting history and culture from the splendor of its countryside to the carnage on its ice rinks. I read this mainly for its information on Calgary and surroundings but ended up going through the rest as well. The only problem is that I now want to visit everywhere!
