Tomi Ungerer is one of my all-time inspirations, and it was amazing to see so much of his commercial work (much of it previously unpublished) gathered in one volume. Almost as delightful as the illustrations are the editorial descriptions of which pieces were deemed too far out by the clients and Mad Men who commissioned them. Ungerer was uncompromising in all aspects of his creative output, and we're all the better for it.
