This is why I love Netgalley - it gives me the opportunity to try books I probably wouldn't be able to talk myself into buying, even if they were on sale... and be pleasantly surprised! Don't get me wrong, I'd been hearing amazing things about Tiffany Reisz from all my friends about the Original Sinners series (of which this book serves as a sort of standalone prequel), but I'd been burned so many times before when it came to "good" erot

Kingsley Boissonneault liked living on the edge. As an operative with a French military secret agency, he endured many aspects of the job. But his latest assignment was nothing like the others. Infiltrating a sex cult might sound like a dream job for him, if only he didn't have to face his greatest fear.

“Were all these dildos made in America?” he asked.
“I don’t know. Why?”

At 24 years old, Kingsley Boissonneault is a Lieutenant in a French military agency. Upon being given a new assignment to infiltrate what appears to be a kinky cult, Kingsley sets course to complete his mission. However, he doesn’t expect his personal life to intersect with work, and as a result, he learns more than he could have hoped.

“I can tell from how patiently you wait. Only those who’ve served know how to be humble.”

With Kingsley, there is never a dull moment and though he a

So, so good! Listened to the audiobook version this time around and I absolutely loved all the delicious accents. Story and performance are perfection!

My favorite quote:
“Not all problems are meant to be solved,” she said. “Some are meant to be endured. All too often we learn more from living with the question than we ever would from the answer.”

Original review: March 2018 good! So, so good!! The Chateau is the ninth installment in Tiffany Reisz's deliciously complex BD

I’m gonna be truthful......I’m a TOS LOVER. I first read The Siren and it was Love At First Sight. I fell in love with the characters and they embedded themselves in my heart. Not traditional by any means but fully alive and mesmerizing by the writing of Tiffany Reisz.

The Chateau is about “Kingsley Théophile Boissonneault, age twenty-four- AKA Kingsley Edge. This is set years after Kingsley leaves American and leaves Soren. Kingsley lives a very fascinating li

The story I've been waiting for and didn't even know it! I did not read the blurb; all I did was see Ms. Reisz name so I picked this book up for a read. I am so glad I did. This is story is hard to review because I am still reeling from the aftereffects. I am boneless as my senses are overwhelmed and my emotions on overload. This is a story focused on Kingsley. I have always adored this Frenchman switch. Whilst this could be read as a standalone, reading the Original Sinner series would help exp ...more

The best way to sum it up is by using this quote from Tiffany’s interview:
“This book was much easier to write than The Lucky Ones. With Kingsley, all you have to do is conjure him up and drop him into a weird situation and you’ll have fun as a reader and a writer. The pitch was, “Kingsley goes on an erotic adventure inside a femme-domme cult.” The story pretty much wrote itself. It’s James Bond with blow j

The impossible happened while reading The Chateau; I fell deeper in love with outrageously witty Kingsley Boissonneault. This time, a younger version of the kinky, cunning and overly sexy character I've come to adore. Just when I thought I knew everything about this charmer, Tiffany Reisz proved me wrong by adding another dimension to his multi-faceted persona. We finally see a hint of the gentler side to this ruthless, perpetually whorish man. I'm addicted to all the Original Sin

When Lt. Kingsley was assigned to do "unofficial" job to investigate the disappearance of Leon, nephew of his commander, who believed he is being held against his will by a sex cult. Accepting the job is easy but getting inside the so-called sex cult, Kingsley must go through some test. Patiently Kingsley was able to get in. And after spending a time there and meeting the "Madame" of the house. He learned something more about himself than he bargained for. A decision must be made will Kingsley c

The Chateau is a sensual, erotic, mysterious novel that will screw with your mind! The setting alone was magnificent; Paris, France in 1989 and Tiffany Reisz's writing brought it to life even more.

Kingsley Boissonneault is hired to look for the Colonel's nephew who is believed to have been kidnapped and forced into a sex cult. Kingsley knowing the 'Story of O' didn't hesitate. Kingsley becomes entangled in the Madame's web. He sees her for the cruel sadist that she is. She

For an Original Sinners novel, The Chateau is an unusual one. For a Kingsley Edge story, it's very unusual, I think. It's so perky, funny, and happy. So pink, like Picture Perfect Cowboy. Those are not adjectives I'd normally use for this series. Definitely not this character. It's hard to imagine the King of the Underground was ever like this. Apparently, even he had a few pink days in his past, while visiting a cult no less, in the midst of his reckless, self-destructive ones.

Mon Dieu……this book left me breathless!

I had my doubts before but I am confident that Ms. Reisz is definitely from a different planet. I don’t think it’s humanly possible to create a dimension full of complicated yet perfect characters that you keep falling in love over and over again, falling so HARD it practically hurts to live without them. The Original Sinners has ALWAYS been special to me, they’ve attained such heights that no human can outwrite them except if you a

If Tiffany Reisz does nothing else for the rest of her writing days but write subsequent novels from The Original Sinners series, I’d be more than happy. I’d be ecstatic! My love for this series is all a bit odd for me- I’m a reader that tends to get bored with extended series, of rolling back again and again with the same characters. But not with this series...not with this author. Each book she writes never feels forced or like she sat down and said, “How can I milk this successful series fo ...more

So don't yell at me but... I have never read The Original Sins series... I know... I know... (hang my head in shame)

But what I do know now that I have read The Chateau is that I have to figure out a way to go back and read that series because The Chateau left me wanting more.

I love romance and suspense and I don't read a ton of erotic or BDSM but this book was HOLY HELL HOT! *fans self*

Wellllll this sucks.

There are a plethora of 5 star reviews for this, so grain of salt. I actually physically feel pained that I didn't LOVE a book wherein King is the focus but I didn't.

I was sort of squinting at it since I'm fairly certain King has said before that he's only ever submitted to Søren and Nora but since I like sub King I went forth with gusto, shirking my doubts like a bad habit. Except it's not really that kinky. There is a pegging scene and the final scene is heavy with #TeamPai

The Chateau was wickedly delicious and deliciously wicked. I loved this glimpse into Kingsley's past, how he was already both a giver and a receiver of pain..

So, full disclosure, I have not read a single one of the million The Original Sinners novellas, full lengths, freebies, etc. So why did I request this, you ask? Because NG didn't indicate this had anything to do with a series when I clicked on it. Shame on me for not doing my GR sleuthing, I guess. Shame on them for not indicating the series connection. But.. it all worked out? Everyone wins?

The Chateau is book 9 in Tiffany Reisz’s Original Sinners series, and it’s a story that readers are going to love. It delves into fan-favorite Kingsley’s past, and interestingly enough, I think this book could stand on its own. I didn't originally realise that this was part of a larger series: no matter this was still an enjoyable endeavour surprisingly more humorous in its execution than erotic which surprised me as I was expecting the opposite.
My rating reflects the fact that I haven't read the rest of the series so was somewhat uninvested here.
If you are a regular consumer of this series I imagine the opposite would apply.
Though technically this can be read as a standalone: all the
