A Second Chance Romance

My baby daddy is NYC’s most eligible bachelor – and no one knows.
Sexy, powerful and charming – the world loves Alistair Sinclair.
I did too. Five years ago.
But our fiery passion couldn’t change his cold attitude or arrogant demands – so I left.
I didn’t know what he’d left me with, but when I found out…I was even more determined.
I didn’t wan

I gave the author three chances to wow me and out of three I was only wowed once and... This was not it.

I found it pretty boring and once again too 'ideal' if it comes to the male part. Hero. Or should I say The Hero?

I loved that Maddy was free like any child could be so no doubt she is a reason why I'm rating this read for three stars.

But unfortunately this is the end of my journey with Lara Swann. I might give her a go again in the future but for now I will stick with these three I've read thi

I'd give this book a 2.5 rating. Honestly I'm sure other people might enjoy this book more than I did. There was really nothing bad about it. It was a good read with a sweetheart of a hero who was adorable with his daughter. All things you might expect. It was really well written as well.

I think my issue with it was it was just boring. Nothing special or dramatic really happened. Not that I need my books to have such things occur but in this case I think it would have improved the entertainment

I voluntarily received this ARC for an honest  review.

This is a cute book, if you are looking for a romantic story this is it. (It have some sexy scenes too!) Well written and excellent descriptions. My only problem is with Leah, she is always scared of something.

Leah used to date Alistair when she was in college, but left him because he was "controlling" and wanted to give her everything (now you understand my problem with her! Girl he wanted to give you everything Please!!! Were do I find a ma

Can money buy happiness? Not if you are Leah! It is just her and her very bright four-year-old daughter Maddie taking on the world together since she left Maddie's father before Leah found out she was pregnant she never looked back- well went back to him anyway. The Billionaire business Tycoon Alistair had life in the palm of his hand- and he wanted her right there with him all the time. Leah could not handle being his under his constant control anymore, no matter how she felt about him. Now fiv ...more

Yes, it is "that kind of story" - and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it! Sure, some parts are predictable but it is well-written and sweet and even though I never doubted where the journey would end I really enjoyed the trip. It was nice to have characters that are able of self-reflection, able to fight for the things and the people they believe in and who are able to trust each other.
There were several situations where I got a bit wary and really expected the hero or the heroine (or the author?)

A second chance romance, family included this time round.

Leah Jackson walked away from Alistair Sinclair five years ago, but when she left she left with part of him their baby Maddie. Leah's struggled to make things work for herself and Maddie, she's worked two jobs, and put her daughter through some tough times, when her friend goes off to find her son's father Leah decides to go in search of Alistair and returns to New York.

I really enjoyed this second chance romance. Leah met Alistair when she was a student and felled for him immediately. When he tried to control her life she left. She was pregnant when she left and chose not to tell him. When things start to get hard and she realizes that she cannot give things to her daughter, Maddie, because of her money situation she decides its time to tell Alistair he has a daughter.
When she sees him again all her feelings for him come crashing back but she tries to stay al

I absolutely loved this book! The characters were awesome and engaging. I connected to Alistair, Leah and Maddie immediately. Leah made the best choice she could when she broke things off with Alistair, she had good reason and it ended up being the catalyst he needed to make a change for the better. Leah didn't know she was pregnant when she did and then she never let him know until now, 4 years later. She had the best of intentions and I love that they both are looking past what happened. I enjoyed this second chance love story between Leah and Alistair...though the beginning of the book where Leah is second guessing her decision to not tell Alistair he has a child is a bit too long and slow. The reader has a good sense of the internal struggle Leah has as a single parent trying to provide everything for her daughter, yet coming up short. I found Leah likeable, especially when her only two close friends, Emma and Mathilda, call her out when she starts overthinking things, and she ...more

I truly enjoyed this book. This is a second chance between Alistair and Leah. Leah never disclosed to Alistair that he is the father of her daughter Maddie but with Maddie starting to ask about her daddy Leah finally made the decision to tell Alistair. At first shocked he quickly bonds with his daughter and is more determined than ever to make Leah his forever love and have the family he always wanted.

I was drawn into this book pretty quickly. The struggles Leah faces as a mother making ends mee

I enjoyed this book very much. It is well written about Leah and Alistair who dated when she was in college and he was a billionaire businessman. She felt he was too controlling and so left him, finding out after she left that she was pregnant. Five years later after struggling to raise a beautiful little girl but not being able to give her daughter what she feels she deserves, Leah goes in search of Alistair to let him know he is a father. To her surprise he is delighted and takes to being a fa ...more

I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.

In this book we meet Alistair Sinclair and Leah Jackson. Leah and Alistair dated 5 years earlier and when she left she didn't leave alone. Now she is back and really wants things to work for their little girl Maddie. She wonders though has to much time passed for it to really work for them?

Alistair has just seen the woman who left him with no way to find her 5 years earlier. When he learns he is a fath

Very boring and taking way too long to get to the point! And I hated Leah, all of her stupid reasons for keeping Madison away from Alistair really bugged me. She goes off and haves a baby returning 5 years later. She's crying and broke because she can barely feed and clothe her child. She decides to tell Alistair the truth. He doesn't question paternity, doesn't get legal help involved, doesn't ask for much. So yet, when he gave her the black card, she gets her butt on her shoulders? Is that not ...more

Geeze I could not put this book down, I just loved how the whole storyline and events developed. This was not a wham bam thank you mam unrealistic story, it was about true love and Leah doing what she thinks is best for not just her but Maddie and how to deal with Alistair as well as Alistair dealing with becoming a Dad and how that also effects him. This had such a natural flow to it I was hooked from the first page and there was no putting it down until the end. The characters were really well ...more

Leah left Alistair when she realized his way of loving her was to control her and limit her own growth. What she didn’t know at the time was that she was pregnant. Now circumstances force her to introduce her ex to his daughter, but she’s firmly resolved not to get involved with him again. That might have worked, if Alistair hadn’t done quite a bit of maturing, too. This second-chance love story is filled with heartbreaking ups and downs as Leah and Alistair work toward co-parenting their daught ...more

I really enjoyed this book! I haven't read many books by Lara Swan but I think I am going to have to change that. This was a great second chance romance that took the story from another perspective. Instead of the man doing the original leaving, it was the woman. Add in a surprise baby and things get really interesting. With controlling behaviors, insecurities, love, passion and even doubt, this book gives you all the feels. Great read!! I voluntarily reviewed am advanced copy of this book.

Leah is a single mum to her gorgeous 4 year old little girl Maddie, and when questions are being asked about her daddy, Leah knows it is time to introduce Maddie to Alastair. Leah has serious issues with Alastair’s controlling nature which is a reason for breaking up in the first place. Can these two reconcile, and let bygones be bygones? No spoilers this is a must read for all second chance romance lovers out there, you will not be disappointed! This story is sweet, humorous, and with a well wr ...more

I really got into this book at the start but it seemed too drawn out. Dragging on and on and on. Going over the same points.
I liked Alistair a lot. He took to being a father pretty easy. He instantly loved his daughter, even though he hadn't met her. I would have liked to, maybe see a bit more of their past instead on listening to Leah's inner triad about it.
I did like the storyline. I love a secret baby romance. Maddie was a sweet kid but she wasn't childish enough. She seemed a little to grow

A heartwarming story of a second chance love story and an adorable little girl. Alistair Sinclair is a heartthrob, a billionaire and NYC's most eligible bachelor. He and Leah had an explosive affair five years ago until she broke it off because of his controlling ways. She kept her pregnancy and little girl secret until Maddie started asking questions about her Daddy. I loved Alistar, but Leah – not so much. She came across as immature and whiney. This was a wonderful story. Leah left Alistair 5 yrs ago but a piece of him went with her. Her daughter, Maddie, is getting curious about her daddy and Leah decides it is time to go find him.

This was a well-written story of a single mom dealing with the repercussions of her past decisions and facing the fear of the ones she is yet to make. Alistair was a swoon-worthy hero and Leah was a fierce mama bear. This is a voluntary review of an advance reader copy. It's a little longer than I am used to

WOW!! This was such a great read! It was the first book I've read by this author & now I know that I need to read more by her. First off, I loved the name Alistair. Secondly, when I saw how long the book was, I thought it may get boring and their story may drag on. OH BOY WAS I WRONG!! I never felt that it was dragging on, I was hooked from the beginning and didn't want to put it down. All the characters were very well developed and it m

This was a good read, although it did take me a minute to get into it. But when I did - oh man! I couldn't put it down.

This is the first book I've read by this author. I enjoyed the backstory & the characters immensely. I know that I need to read more by her. I have to say, I saw the direction the book was going in and I enjoyed being taken on that ride. I never once felt it may get boring or that the story may drag on.

I in fact didn't want the story to end! The characters

It took me a few chapters to get into this book and the story, but eventually it did and it only gets better from there.
The story is well written and well explained backstory.
I just fell in love with Alistair and his approach to the news that he was a father but Leah frustrated me with her stubbornness and way to behave against Alistair. But the chemistry is amazing and also the hot scenes.
Finally a book that is longer than most romance stories and it still has a good and intriguing story. A st

oof because in her mind this is about Maddie. But Alistair still loves her and he falls in love with his daughter immediately.
This is a sweet and somewhat realistic story about how two people who still have feelings for each other are drawn together because of their love for their daughter. I enjoyed Leah's friend Tilly and Emma. There were times when I did want to smack Leah because she just didn't want to believe that what she was seeing in Alistair was true. I liked this sweet book. The author did a great job in making Alistair such a fantastic roll model. This billionaire bachelor took to fatherhood like a duck to water. The book is pretty straight forward in telling the story but the author did throw several red herrings into the story to make you think something else was going to happen. Leah was pretty down to Earth and never took advantage of her ex despite what the ex and her friend said. I did expect a little more drama but it is just a reall ...more

I really enjoyed reading Alistair and Leah's story as they learn to overcome some of their past hurts and look to the future as parents of the cutie Maddie. What can I is an interesting story of how a single mum who left an arrogant billionaire playboy to love the single thing she had to keep from him, and accepting that Alastair needs to know his daughter (and vice versa). This is a lovely story that flows really well. At times it is funny, at times sexy and at others sweet. T

Leah and Alistair… it is so cute to read about the insecurities of Alistair about being a dad and of Leah about her life decisions. It lets one participate in their trains of thoughts and also makes one feel very much acquainted with them.

And again it is cute and adorable to read about Alistair and Maddie playing together… precious and priceless…

Way, way (and more way) too much inner dialog. There were good parts but the rest was slow and I couldn't get into this story. Alaistar acted childlike when he first met his daughter. Her relationships are funny, sexy and spicy, and she gets as many thrills in pitting her characters against each other as she does when they eventually come together in an explosion of heat.
