Asian-American pun intended (with a slight cringe on my behalf, but needs must etc.), since this focused on featuring poets with Asian-American heritage.

Many cool lines in various poems, only a few poems that I genuinely connected with in their entirety though.

Very cool to see an Asian American issue of Poetry. This is also the first time I listened to the podcasts accompanying the journal, which offer a great multimedia complement to some of the poems in the issue.

I found a handful of new poets to love in here. It’s a wonderful thing to actively feel the number of my favorite poets growing as I go through a volume.

For me, the standout/most memorable poem in this issue is Garrett Hongo's "Kubota to Zbigniew Herbert in Lvov, 1941":
