My life. My way. Until she arrives and shakes my reality to the core.

As a former MC member and the best damn bike mechanic in the state, I've turned my back on everything my rich family expects of me. I don't need their money or their expectations. Screw them all. I'm doing just fine on my own.

Until the day my life changes, and I become a full-time single father to a littl

I have yet to read anything not great by this author, but this is hands down her best work yet. Having read “The Island” not too long ago and absolutely loving it, when I got the review copy of “The Rebel” I thought surely it couldn’t top “The Island.” I was so wrong! It is acutely apparent that Ms. Ward doesn’t just write with the intent of creating a decent story but with the purpose of engaging the reader, capturing her heart, and creating a visceral experience that remains with the reader lo ...more

The Rebel is about a woman (Taylor) who works for a family-owned motorcycle company that is struggling financially and she stumbles upon the idea to hire the owner's estranged son (Sean) for a re-branding campaign. Sean is a mechanic in a motorcycle shop who unexpectedly becomes an active father to his eight-year old daughter, Paisley.

Despite the two main characters jobs, a brief mention of Sean having formerly been in a motorcycle gang, and the fact that the two leads either ride or used to rid

ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is only my second Alice Ward book. I loved the idea behind the story: a former motorcycle club member finds himself a single father to an 8 year old girl, falling in love along the way.

What I loved: Sean and Paisley's developing relationship! Sean is such a sweet dad. I loved everything about this storyline. I also loved the author's ability to pull at your heartstrings. She does an amazing job making you feel all the feels.

Well huh. More of a 3.5 the story left me feeling all sorts of sadness & im not sure why. It has romance but it's I guess more a story of redemption above all else. Sean's redemption. Tara imo was just the catalyst for it all. I really ended up more focused on the family rebuilding than the romance, so if you like those kinds of books, you'll like this.

One question. What happened to Zach? He didn't just ride off into the sunset as pissed as he was, so do we have some kind of wicked anti her

3.5 star read for me. This was a pretty good read but not spectacular. There was enough mystery with Sean's estranged relationship with his dad and his brother and his past relationship with his ex to keep me entertained. Enjoyed his blossoming relationship with his little girl, Paisley. Sean and Taylor hit it off from first sight. Taylor seems a little wishy washy at first but I guess that's understandable when your dating the boss's son, not to mention that he's newly raising his 8 year old da ...more

LOVED IT!! I couldn't put it down once I started. All the fears I had for added drama like the MC club, other women, manwhore stuff, saying awful things out of fear or hurt feelings, Zach's shenanigans, etc...none of it happened. Is that good? Yes! Was it boring for lack of drama? Absolutely not!!! The way Alice pulled everything together was believable, touching, sweet and tender, amazingly hot, real, and absolutely wonderful to read.

Honestly, there are so many good things to say about this boo

Alice Ward in a fairly new author for me, and if The Rebel is any indication of the quality of her work, I'll be doing a lot of catch-up reading in the future. What I expected from the the book cover and title was a gritty MC romance, but The Rebel is anything but that. What I found was a sexy, sweet, heartwarming, endearing story I found impossible to put down. I give The Rebel 4.5 stars.

I loved this story! It is well written with a great deal of emotional elements that encompass all the characters. I especially enjoyed how the relationship between Sean, the biker and Taylor, the corporate babysitter builds and evolves naturally. Their time together nutures their feelings for each other and Sean's young daughter, Paisley.

Sean is a former MC member looking to just get through his days in contentment. He has made mistakes and suffers from the consequences from some of those. It is

I am a huge fan of Alice Ward and her writing. This book just proves to me why I am such a fan. Her writing is superb, the characters are so well developed and the story itself is as if you are right there in the thick of things. I never want to put the book down until I'm done and when I'm done, I want more. Sean is kind of the black sheep of his family. His father and brother are people that he doesn't like to be around due to things that happened years ago. Sean loves motorcycles and the best ...more

I have read many books by Alice Ward. She has written about Billionaires, athletes, doms, etc. and I have enjoyed all of them. This book was a different from the rest and I can honestly say, this is one of my favorites. I didn't know what to except at first when the book mentions motorcycles and a former member of a MC group but it was a pleasant surprise. The book begins with Sean Yates working as a motorcycle mechanic in a small shop. He left a MC some years back due to the increase of crimina ...more

Sean is an amazing motorcycle mechanic, barely making a living, but doing the best he can on his own, and for the most part feeling pretty good about himself. He's got some demons from his past, some owning to his family and some to his brief time in a motorcycle club.

Paisley is Sean's eight year old daughter, and on that he hasn't had contact with since his ex-wife took her away. Of course Sean hasn't always felt he deserved to be in Paisley's life given his entanglement with the motorcycle cl

Sean Yates never expected to see his 8-year old daughter, Paisley, after his ex-wife up and left six years ago after the divorce. Suddenly, Sean is a single dad, and he has no idea how to care for a young girl. Alice Ward has a way of telling a story that gets you so engrossed, that you're done before you know it, absorbing every word and feeling every emotion written. Sean & Taylor are perfect for each other and the story starts out with them not liking each other, they don't get along and she thinks he is rude. Of course they each think the other is attractive but until they start to see each other w/o annoyance, they see the real beauty in each other. Sean now has his eight year old daughter to ...more

I received a copy of this book in exchange of an honest review. Sean has with great dignity built a life on his own. His origins are not humble, on the contrary he comes from a well known and rich family. He wants nothing to do with his family because of his brother’s betrayal in his regards. Although having a rough past, he is a well respected mechanic and is happy with what he earns. When his family’s company is in deep economic trouble and one of his father's employees steps in to ask him to ...more

Sean comes from an affluent family and as with all families there are dramas, some just more than others, as is the case here.

Alice Ward does it again. Awesome story, I laughed, I cried and and ooh'd and aah'd.

Sean used to be in a motorcycle club, now he fixes motorcycles for a living. He believes he is a messup and should stay out of everyone's way. His ex shows up at his work, he didn't even know she lived so close again, saying she needs more money so their daughter can continue in a summer camp. Why is 5 my limit on stars? I could rate this as INFINITE This is one of the best books I've read in a while. While it was a mix of tropes I read frequently (romance, billionaires, single dad, motorcycle affiliation, alpha male, etc), this one will stand out in my mind for a while. I know that when I read and Alice Ward title I'm in for something special. The Rebel is no exception to that expectation. I stumbled across a phrase tonight, immediately after finishing this book, that I think perfectly sums up how I feel about our hero: it's hard to resist a bad boy who's also a good man. I actually found it impossible to resist Sean. Alice Ward is very good at bringing characters to life that make me care about them.
Some writers embue a bit of magic to their characters that brings them fully to life. It isn’t in the big events of a story, really. It’s in small moments, when a reader gets to see a spark of humor, or a bit of pathos. A daydream. A motivation, both with good intentions, and bad. Heroes and villains alike.
These moments bring characters beyond physical descriptions or first impressions. It can happen anywhere-- a

Sean’s life is falling apart. Upon the death of his ex-wife and instant fatherhood of an 8 year old girl, his life seems to be spinning out of control.
